So after a great start in the challenge the EA studio totally failed for me in the verification stage losing every single, last, trade. Maybe you just get what you pay for so I’m moving on and  looking at the FTMO Robot. I know it’s new, but can anybody report any success with it especially over the last mouth?

      Hey David,

Please make it more transparent what you mean by ”EA Studio failed”. EA Studio is not an EA but a tool we use to create and automate EAs. Do you mean you generated EAs using EA Studio and you put them on a challenge?

The robot performs smoothly and now when FTMO removes the 30-day period for the challenge it gets even easier to pass with it because we are not limited in time.

      Hallo,

I have the following questions about the FTMO
      ROBOT.

can I scale and for 20,000 then increase the lots to 0.6?

can I probably transfer the robot to other prop companies?

      Thanks,

        Thomas,

Yes, you can scale it up!

What I know about using a common EA on various brokers is that the results will not be the same.  Some brokers might show greater stagnation, drawdown, and or overall profit than other brokers.  So beware of these possibilities!

      Hey traders,

I have updated the FTMO Robot on our website. This is the latest version, Version 3.

      • How is this Robot different to the previous version?
      • It trades on the M1 Chart using the Envelopes
      • There is a Higher Time Frame filter (MACD on M15)
      • Option to add to the position
      • Spread & Account protections

I have recorded a detailed video explaining How the Robot Works.

      Hi Petko,

Is the FTMO robot the same one included in your FTMO course? Or do I have to purchase it separately?

      Hey Jean,

      Glad to hear from you.

The course will be updated with the EA in the very near future. I just recorded a few more videos showing how I pass the 200k challenge and it will take some time for my team to edit the videos.

      Hey Petko,

I hope you are doing well.

I purchased the FTMO Robot yesterday, I am trying to back-test the robot on metatrader5 on a 10k challenge. Looks like is not opening any trades on the back-testing, I am pretty sure the reasons are the wrong settings/inputs, i had to modify them since your video is showing the settings for a 200k challenge :) can you please help me?

Thanks for your amazing job, i like your videos and effort.

        Hey Patrick,

You do not see any trades because the default lot size is huge for a 10k account. Try to lower it to 0.1 and the max position to 0.3 and see if there will be trades.

Also, make sure to use Control Points as a backtesting model.

hello to everyone, I have the same problem as you, I’m backtesting on an ActivTrades demo account.

      Hey Vincenzo,

I think it is the same issue. Please, lower the lot size and try again.

Also, yesterday was the weekend and the FTMO server closed on Friday with a spread > 10 pips.

In the EA there is a Spread FIlter Protection set to 3 pips, so make sure not to use the Current spread but 2 pips for example.

        dear petko,
I tried modifying the spread and the values as you recommended (I attach screenshot of the settings), but the problem remains (I attach screenshot of the error). I need to solve otherwise this EA is unusable. What can I do?

Have you tried this solution as I suggested earlier?:  https://forexsb.com/forum/topic/7505/error-invalid-order-filling-type/

Try using MT4 instead of MT5.  I am thinking MT4 does not have this issue.

      1) what setting do you recommend to pass FTMO 100k ?

      2) The EA doesn’t has any high new protección right? What do you recommend?

      3) I work with a profirm that doesn’t accept Martingale How I can setup the EA non martingale?

      4) how I do backtesting I tried I didn’t work

      Hey Jose,

      Glad to hear from you.

      1. I would use 3 lots so if the EA hits the SL it would be below 1%.

      2. What do you mean by ”high new”?

      3. The EA does not use martingale: it adds to the position if there is a new signal. However, if you want to avoid the adding just set the entry to 3 lots and max position to 3 lots, so it won’t add on the same directional signal.

      4. Abour the backtesting make sure to use a smaller lot and spread of 2-3 pips (not the weekend one)

I May have found the issue, I did not have any data to back test.

I still do not understand the setting very well and would like to understand more.

Is it possible to see the Envelopes and other things on my TM4 as indicators?

        Hi Kevin,

When doing the backtest on MT4 you have to set up the Strategy Tester correctly.  This video will walk you through the process.

As for the FTMO settings, what questions do you have?

The Envelopes can be added to the MT4 chart.  You can find the indicators in the list of indicators on MT4.

my main question for this bot is scaling for risk or account size.  He mentions 200k account in the video.  What would be the best settings for a 100k account, or a 50k account.

For smaller accounts scale Entry Lot Size, Max Lot size, Amt to Add on lot size, Stop loss, and Take profit proportionally.

      Hello Ramis,

The FTMO Robot will open trades when the price hits the Envelopes and there is confirmation from the MACD. The EA is not designed to trade frequently but to take strong reversal signals.

If you do not see trades for a few days, check out the journal for any errors. Also, make sure you keep your laptop/PC connected to the internet all the time, and the MetaTrader connected to the FTMO Server.

I like the word ”dead” for EA :)

      Hey Lee,

      Check my answer above.

The general expectation is to have a very active EA because these are the type of EAS people buy from the market. Usually, such EAs use martingale to recover the losing trades but those are not suitable for Prop Firms.

Are you using Netting or Hadging account? It is a problem in MetaTrader 5 if you are using a Hedging account. It won’t be able to add to the position.

      Hey Khoo,

Yes, the lot size is the only thing you need to adjust.

But with the new Version 4.0 I would suggest you trade straight with 0.3, not using the adding option.

Hello Petko, can you consider adding a delay to this EA so it can help with being slightly different from other traders?

I’m running this on a few different accounts with different settings but they all opened their positions at the same time.

An option to delay the open order from 1 to 10 seconds in the inputs would be helpful in reducing the risk of being flagged by a prop firm for opening a position at the same time as too many other people and will also help make our trades unique.

The following is from a demo account on trading.com using the MT5 Strategy Tester.  I can’t use the FTMO demo account right now because I have a 10K demo account with FTMO currently running using MT4.  The first chart shows the dates when trades were taken.  Notice that it does not take trades every day.  The last trade was taken on 8/16.  The second chart shows the profit so far this month.  The account started the month of August with $200,000.  Chart shows profit of $6771.06 so far for the month.

I would expect the FTMO robot to take another trade within the next day or two.  Patience!
I would suggest you do a similar backtest to make sure everything is working correctly.  The following are the settings I used:

Thanks for answering me. But the question is, in which do you run the ea, mt4 or mt5 for FTMO account? Because in MT4 when you open the folder to put the EA it only gives the option to put the MT5 version, I don’t know if that will be a problem. Why does it have to do with the type of Hedge or Netting account, right?

Well let’s see if someone can clarify it for me so that I can get it ready to launch operations.

          Thank you.

If you are using MT4 then you need to use EURUSD M1 FTMO Filter M30.mq4.

If you are using MT5 then you need to use EURUSD M1 FTMO Filter M30.mq5 (EURUSD M1 FTMO Filter M30).

I was getting the same error in MT5 on demo account and strategy tester:

Press F4 (to get to MetaEditor), go to Search – find in files:

      Find what: return ((ENUM_ORDER_TYPE_FILLING)OrderGetInteger(ORDER_TYPE_FILLING));
      Replace with: return (ORDER_FILLING_IOC);
      Press Replace in Files

Now compile all AE that you needed to change and restart MT5.
I am not sure what does this change do I am not developer. But it fixed my issues.

Hi, I have installed the robot, and have used them in the past with other companies so I am not a newbie by all means. But I am having a difficult time with this getting it to place a trade. The smily face is on, I made sure to select auto-trading prior to adding the chart, and the time-frames are accurate. Any other suggestions on why it isn’t working?  I have it set on the M1 so I would have thought many trades should have been placed as it has been running non-stop since this morning and it is now evening here. Looking forward to getting this to start trading, thanks! :)

I back-test the FTMO Robot on an FTMO Demo account. My results from Aug 1, 2023 through Aug 15, 2023 shows the robot took approximately one trade per day.   My back-test from Aug 16, 2023 through Aug 29, 2023 shows the robot approximately one trade every other day. Looks like you are trying to close a position that has already been closed.  Remove EA from chart.  Close MetaTrader and reload.  Add EA back to chart.   This should give you a fresh restart.

Make sure you have installed the EA properly and that the icon in the upper right corner of the trading window shows a smiley face for MT4 or a colored icon for MT5.  If so then it should be ready to make trades.  I monitor the FTMO EURUSD robot and the last time it placed a trade was on 09/14/2023 at 15;30.  What size account do you have and what are your lot size settings.

Here are recommended lot sizes for each account size:

      200K Account: Amount for new position = 6.0 / Maximum position amount = 6.0
      100K Account: Amount for new position = 3.0 / Maximum position amount = 3.0
      50K Account: Amount for new position = 1.5 / Maximum position amount = 1.5
      25K Account: Amount for new position = 0.75 / Maximum position amount = 0.75
      10K Account: Amount for new position = 0.30 / Maximum position amount = 0.30

      Hi guys,

I can’t seem to do backtests with the robots.

      – I believe to have loaded enough data on my charts (using the home key)
      – All settings should allow me to do a backtest

I’ll include screenshots, can anyone spot a mistake in my setup?

Does M1 historical data go back to Oct 1, 2023?

Also start with smaller lot size such as 0.3, and 0.3.

Also I must advise that MetaTrader does not do a good job with backtesting!  The creator of FSBpro recognized this years ago and decided to develop a much better backtester.  FSBpro and EA Studio are the best backtesters available!

While the EA is loaded on the M1 time frame it also does some filtering in the M30 space. Because of the filtering done in the M30 space trades are not taken often. Sometimes it may take more than 24 to 48 hours before the first trade is taken. This then allows for higher quality of trades.

        Hi Ruben,

I see you just installed the FTMO EA on Oct 11.  The FTMO EAs don’t necessarily place trades everyday because of the M30 filter.  Give it another day or two and you should see a trade being placed.

What is the minimum number of bars that are needed for the M30 filter to work properly? My demo account only provides 30 days of history on the M30 chart. I tried holding down the home button and it did not make any difference. Is there something else I can do to add more data for the M30 timeframe?

        Hi Gary,

        Go to Tools>options>Charts

Then go to ‘Max bars in history’ and fill in the white space with 999999999999999

Then go to ‘Max bars in chart’ and fill in the white space with all 999999999999999

Then go back to chart and hold down HOME key and see if you get more data.

If this does not work then you will need to add premium data to the chart.  Let me know how it goes!

This is most likely an issue with your broker.  Try a much smaller lot size.  Also, does your broker allow auto trading with EAs?

    • #204587

      yes broker allows EA’s

      • #204603

Good!  So maybe there was a reason your broker wouldn’t allow trades to be taken at that time.  Maybe wait and see if it will take trades in the future.  I would close your computer and restart it and then see if it will start taking trades.  There is nothing wrong with the EA and it looks like it is installed correctly so the issue has to be with the broker.  Keep me posted!

Hi, I purchased the FTMO robot and tried it for 1 week in a demo account with good results. Then I attached it to my live account and it’s been 36 hours and not 1 trade even if the market has provided opportunities. My broker uses a suffix BTW (EURUSDx) I am thinking that could be it…also my journal shows no errors upon loading…. Please help! Using EURUSD only…

    • #207010

The suffix is just the name of the chart and has nothing to do with the chart history data, so that is not the problem. As long as the EA has been properly attached to the chart it will open a trade. I have seen the FTMO EAs not open a trade for two days. So hang in there the EA will most likely open a trade soon.

I’ve been running the 7 FTMO ea’s on an mt4 demo account for 6 days now, my aim was to track the results on FX Blue as I do for all my EA’s.

However none of them have entered a trade, and this is weird to me. I was thinking maybe the EA’s are just stagnant for long periods at times. However, after seeing some other reviews/results from people on YouTube/ blogs, it seems the EA’s are normally fairly active, (including this last week based on what I could gather)

I think between the 7 currency pairs- there is surely enough volatility for at least one trade on any pair to trigger. So Im wondering if there is something I have done incorrectly.

      To ensure I remove any potential issues I did the following;

All data bars from M1 & M30 was loaded first,
Ive used 3 separate MT4 terminals,
      Tried 2 different demo accounts,
Tried 3 different Brokers (Eightcap, Foreign Clearing House, Oanda)
Tried both M1 and M30 windows open

Auto Trading is ON, (both in the options and on the main interface window)

MT4 terminal is functional as I have other EA’s that enter trades,

The MT4’s smiley face confirmation is active on all the FTMO Robot pair windows

No errors in the Expert section of MT4

      Acc sizes: 10,000k & 100,000k

The dates tested since purchase so far was the 18th, 19th, 20th, 23rd, 24th and today the 25th of Oct.

Can anyone using the FTMO robot confirm they had entries during these dates??

I would appreciate some guidance, as maybe I have done something wrong.

Based on MT4 Strategy Tester backtest of EURUSD on live FTMO account from the 18th until today there were 16 trades. I am not using Petkos FTMO EAs on the live FTMO account. I am using my own EAs. So all I can say is that backtesting with Strategy Tester shows there were 16 trades.

Thanks. although mt4 strategy tester is very inconsistent, and I dont trust it much, 16 trades sounds like what I would expect on a major pair like EurUsd with the strategy the FTMO bot uses.

FBSpro shows 7 trades opened from the 18th to 25th and 6 trades closed.  Trade reversals are not counted as opened or closed trades.  However, if you count the trades in the profit/loss column the number is 13.

Depending on market conditions, sometimes pairs will not trade. That’s normal. As long as you don’t have any error messages and auto-trading is enabled, you should be fine.

For more troubleshooting, you can check in metatrader, experts and journal tabs. Check that experts are successfully loaded, with enough bars, etc

What comes to my mind is that you have low leverage, and there was not enough margin to open the trades?

Second, check if your broker has different suffixes for the symbols. Some might not be eligible for EAs.

      Let me know.

Hello Petko, the current broker account is EightCap using 100:1 leverage

and there are no additional symbol suffixes.

All 7 EA’s are being tracked currently, & I also have attempted to track them with Foreign Clearing House & Oanda demo accounts.

I have amended the lot sizes just in case it is a micro lot issue. I am testing on Alpha Capital Demo, not FTMO.

With V5 Petko added some extra indicators to the EA so now it will take more time for all the indicators to line up and provide a trade signal.  While it may take some extra time for trades to happen the quality of the trades should be greater.

          Hi Gaurav,

The problem is your account size does not match the account size you have chosen for the FTMO V6.0 robots.  To get the robots working you will need to make these changes to your robots:

Make the following changes to all the robots:

Maximum daily loss (currency) = 299
          Minimum equity (currency) = 4550
          Maximum equity (currency) = 5505

Also each of the following robots need to have these changes made to the Entry lots which will limit your account risk to 0.5% or low risk:

          AUDCHF Entry lot = 0.04
          EURUSD Entry lot = 0.05
          AUDUSD Entry lot = 0.05
          EURAUD Entry lot = 0.07
          GBPAUD Entry lot = 0.07
          USDCAD Entry lot = 0.07
          USDCHF Entry lot = 0.05
XAUUSD Entry lot = 0.01 (0.01 Entry lot is the smallest lot size you can use.  Unfortunately the risk to the account is 1% instead of 0.5%.  So it is your choice if you want to trade this robot.)

Just one last clarity , the Maximum daily drawdown% , and maximum equity drawdown %

what should i write in those fields I was considering 3% daily drawdown max, and 2% equity daily drawdown max??

Or please suggest what to write on those fields in my AUDCHF tf30, EURAUD tf15, GBPAUD tf30 , USD CHF tf30

        Hi Thorsten G.

The new FTMO V5 EAs have additional indicators built into them.  As a result it may take more time for all the indicators to line up and provide trades.  While the new EAs have additional indicators built into them when they do provide trades the trades should better results.

        I propose this template:

        – Name of the broker

        – Leverage

        – Type of account (for example distinction between swing / non-swing account on FTMO)

        – Version of the robot tested

        – Timeframe (from / to)

        – Best pairs (up t0 3)

        – Optional explanation of the choice

        WDYT?

I just got serious and setup a VPS and moved into that for bot v5. I also moved in bot v4.3 just for a running comparison over time. I would like to track it for awhile and then will put it on a real challenge. One thing that I’m still trying to wrap my head around is this: if I want to use the top 3 bots only at any given time – should I divide the recommended lots into thirds? Mainly I need to understand how to ensure the collective 3 bots cannot exceed a daily drawdown such as 3 percent.

For the v4.3 EA’s just divide the recommended lot size according to you account size by 3.  For example, for a 10K account the lot size is 0.33 lots.   This will limit your risk if you are trading just one EA to 1%.  So if you are trading 3 EA’s and you want to limit your account risk to 1% then you must divide evenly between the 3 EA’s.  So each EA would then need to use 0.11 lots.

For V5 use the set files to determine the lot size for each of the three EA’s.  Then divide each EA’s lot size by 3.

Hello Petko, I didn’t mean that it doesn’t work on MT5 at all. It just doesn’t work the SL function and the trend reversal. He goes either only in the sl or tp. He never leaves the trade sooner. On mt4, the bot works normally. I also let the bots run live for a week no problems on MT4 on MT5 it doesn’t work. others here have had the exact same experience.

The bots that are running in your screenshot are also not the same bots that you buy from FTMO bots.

      Hello Benedikt,

I am a bit confused about what you are saying… :)

If you feel that MT4 is better, than use MT4. I can’t understand what you mean about the SL and the TP.

The strategies are exactly the same for both versions.

      I have two questions

regarding keeping trades over night or weekends.

My FTMO robot v5 took some trades today. They are in profit but i see quite high swap costs at FTMO Demo account. Should i closing them at least over the weekend?

Also i saw the TP at EUR/USD too far away.

Can i manually change TP and SL without affecting the Robots work? So i assist the robot a bit.

thanks & have a nice weekend

        Hi Andreas,

I always leave my trades overnight and weekends.

The EA’s are created to perform the best over the long term with the SL set a certain distance from the open price as shown in the EA properties box.  However, you can at your own discretion change it.

      Hi Everybody,

So, since I started using the FTMO Robot V5, my MT5 freezes every time. I have tried everything: closed all, reinstalled everything, checked my internet, and now I even paid for a VPS to let them run. However, my MT5 still freezes. Interestingly, it’s not my MacBook; this thing still works. I already tested the same on MT4, and there’s no issue. I contacted the MQL5 support, but they can’t help me. Do you guys have experience with this or know how to solve this problem? I can’t close MT5 every 5 minutes, and it’s also really slow since I installed the robot.

      Thanks for Help! :D

      Hello All

I want to just double check, the MT4 and MT5 EA’s are exactly the same right? Even though I am running my FTMO screening test on MT5 I can use the best pair on MT4 with the MT4 EA?

Also, how long do we run the FTMO test phase for ideally? I have seen a few different mentions, like a week, 2 weeks, before we take the best one and enable it on our live account.

Lastly, what is the best approach, from experienced users that has passed their evaluations, do I use just the one best EA with set lot size, or do I use the top 2 or top 3 with split lot sizes?

      Thanks!

You need to remove the robot from the chart. Then click the Algo Trading button in the tool bar so it turns green. Next reinstall the robot on the M15 chart. Now it should be turned on!

You must keep your computer running from Monday through Friday.  If you close your computer MT5 will stop working so any open trades will not close if TP or SL is hit.  If you cannot keep your computer running then you would need to have a VPS.

        Hi Nicholas,

Answer to question 1)  The EA’s are the same.  They are coded differently as MT4 and MT5 have different languages.  So yes you can use MT5 for testing and then MT4 for live trading.  However, be aware of one thing:  If MT5 is on a different broker or different prop firm than MT4 then there could be some difference as each broker or prop firm will have somewhat different histortical data.

Answer to question 2)  One week or two weeks is not sufficient backtest to see how the EA will perform over the long term as during such short periods of time the market could be trending without any significant retrace or drawdown.  During longer periods of time such as one month or longer then the market is more likely to have some small retraces and even a drawdown.  If you are going to run your EA for a month or longer than you want to know how it will perform during retraces or drawdown.  So it is recommended if you are going to run an EA for a month or longer that you at least backtest it for one month.

Answer to question 3)  There is no right or wrong answer to this question.  I have used the best 1 to 3 EAs and have found that the 10 EAs they were selected from actually performed better than the few I selected.  Then again I have had the opposite occur.  The one nice thing about running all the EA’s is that they will compensate for each other.  What I mean by that is when one or two EAs are going through a drawdown the others most likely could be profiting, this helps to minimize drawdowns.  So, since it is difficult to decide to run 1 to 3 EAs or the whole lot, what I do when I want to have more than a 1% account risk I will then run all the EA’s to minimize drawdown.  If I just run 1 to 3 EAs then I keep my account risk to 1% because the drawdowns will most likely be greater.  So, running the whole lot with a 2% risk also helps to increase profit.  So running the whole lot helps to keep drawdown to a minimum while at the same time increases the chance of greater profit.

        Hope this helps!

        Alan,

      Hey Alan

      Thanks for your response.

On question 2, I may not be clear in my question. So according to Petko, we must run the EA’s on a test account on FTMO before we use the best-performing ones to pass the account challenge. I would like to know if the 2 weeks we run the test enough. We then take the top 3 and add them to our live account, is this correct?

I will keep in mind of course that if I run 3 or more, which makes sense to me, but then adjust to compensate for no more than 1% risk over all three. I would assume I adjust the lot size? So if I then take my top three EA’s over the two week test period, for a 10K account, then the lot size for 1 EA is 0.05 – I would then divide 0.05 by three and use that lot size on each EA. Am I correct in this Alan?

I am planning on only running on FTMO live account s only.

I do have all EA’s running on a different broker demo account just to have a continuous updated best performance on the EA’s.

Still learning…relatively new to trading, been a heck of a journey this far though. As the saying goes, trading is simple, but definitely not easy.

      Thanks again.

Hi Petko, thank you very much for your response. I’ve been using my MacBook for about a year, and I’ve been trading on the FTMO Broker account for approximately 2 months now. So far, it has been working without any issues. Could I have possibly made a mistake during the installation? The robots are running on my VPS, and 7 out of 8 have already opened trades, so I believe everything should be running correctly. I’ve also explained the issue to MQL5 support, and they believe it’s not on their end.

      Hey Nicholas,

I don’t really depend on the time period as one or two weeks. Sometimes, there will be more or less trades opened.

But two weeks is enough to check the recent top performers. Then you need to keep in the challenge only the top performers.

Regarding the risk. The set files are for the testing account and if you trade the EAs individually.

If you decide to put more than 1 EA on a challenge, you better lower the risk.

I have had the FTMO robot on my MT5 for 2 weeks and it has still not made any trade:
      – The settings is on the M15
      – The algo trading is on
      – The only thing i have changed is the take profit (i have only changed it with 10 pips, so if the take profit on the default set files was 60, i have changed it to 50)
      – It is running on a VPS
      – The broker i have is ACG markets, live 10k account

Do anybody know what i should do to get it going so i can pass the challenge soon.

      Thank you.

      Hi Emre,

This sounds like a problem with the broker or their server. Slippage maybe. Or it could be a problem with the auto trading. I’d suggest making sure your auto trading is enabled, you see the smiley face (or hat in the case of MT5) in the top right hand corner. If all settings are confirmed as correct, run a backtest. You will see trades that should have opened. Then contact the prop firm and enquire with them why the trades didn’t open, when they clearly should have according to the backtest. Also, check the journal for any errors.

      Cheers,

      Ilan

      Hi Ghiath,

If you run a backtest, do you see trades that would have opened? It sounds like all your settings are correct, and trades should be opening. I’d suggest running the backtest, saving the results and asking the broker why trades have not executed, when clearly, the backtest shows that they should have. Also, check your journal for any errors. Could be a connectivity issue with the broker’s sever.

      Cheers,

      Hi G.C.,

MT5 does not work like MT4. With MT5 you need to open the MT5 Editor by clicking in the IDE button in the MT5 tool bar. Then you need to click on one of the EAs to open it. Then you need to click on Compile. The EA will now show up in the Navigator. Now do this for each EA.

As long as there are less than 2000 identical orders placed per day there is no problem.  Even if there are more than 2000 identical orders placed per day they will email you and ask you to make a change.  If you insist on making your trade unique change the lot size slightly instead of the indicator settings.

Note:  I use the standard settings and have never had an issue with it.

If you see a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart then the robot is working properly and you just need to give it more time to see trades develop.

If you do not see the blue hat you have not installed the robots correctly.  To install correctly remove the robot from the chart,  Turn on Algo Trading, and then install the robot.

EA’s should ideally run on a VPS (not a VPN, but a VPS). This is to prevent having issues due to power or internet outages in your home.

However, you should still be able to run the robot on your PC.

When you say it is not working, what exactly do you mean? What are you seeing?

Hi Jaun I appreciate your answer. what I meant was that it has been three days and it has not taken any trades I am not sure of what could be the reason but i did everything that was instructed on the video but it does not take any trades.

      Hi Milward,

Yes the robot will work on your pc. If you are using MT4 and there is a smiley face in the upper right corner of the chart then the robot is installed properly. If you are using MT5 and there is a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart then the robot is installed properly.

If the robots were not installed properly you need to remove the robot. Make sure the Autotrading or Algotrading button is depressed and then install the robot.

If the robot is installed properly then you will need to give it more time for a trade to develop. Since you have been waiting for three days now I would expect a trade to develop anytime now.

If none of these solves your problem please let me know!

Right click on the blue hat, select Expert Advisor, select Remove.  Now you can install a new Expert Advisor.

I did remove it, reinstalled the ea .. and it’s doing the same thing. 2 different pairs in the top corners.

What can I do it get these ea to work? It’s been 4 days and I still can’t get this ea’s to work at all.

You have selected XAUUSD (top left) as your chart, but are using the EA of USDCAD (top right). It can’t work like that. You need to take the EA of XAUUSD and drag it onto the chart. Each EA must be used on the associated chart. You can’t mix it.

I have done that, as soon as I change pairs the top right stays the same

You have to open a new chart for each EA and add the appropriate EA. So for the USDCAD-EA open a chart with USDCAD M15 and load the correct EA. At the end, 8 CCharts should be open with the appropriate EA.

      Hi Tanyeem,

MT4 will use hedging if your broker allows hedging.  MT5 can be setup for hedging or netting when it is installed.  There is an option to select netting.  You can ask your broker to switch your account to netting.

Do you see a smiley face or a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart?  If not then check to see if the AutoTrading or AlgoTrading button is pressed.  If the button is pressed and you don’t see a smiley face or a blue hat then you need to remove the EA and reinstall.  Make sure the button is pressed before reinstalling the EA.

Next, I am assuming you are referring to the FTMO v5.1 robots.

Now, did you load the proper setfiles based upon the account size into the EA using the “Load” button while installing the EA?

For example:  With a 25K account the 25K setfile should be loaded.

There are not any set files for FTMO V6.0 robots.  If you download the 10K robots the robot parameters already have the correct settings for a 10K account.

Then I would have to say the EA’s are properly installed.  I installed v5.1 two days ago on a FREE FTMO demo account and I already have one EA trade closed, with a loss, and 5 of the 8 EA’s have open trades.

Are you testing on Free FTMO demo account or FTMO Challenge?

I’m encountering the same problem where the FTMO bot isn’t executing trades.

      • Smiley face in the top right ✔️

Is there a specific URL where I can observe the FTMO bot running correctly? This way, I can compare it to mine to ensure it matches the proper FTMO bot. Thanks

Thanks Alan, how can it be possible as I have not started trading at all on $10k Demo acc, equity is still full on as $10k, what is it protecting

The Minimum equity protection is protecting your account balance of $10,000.  So it is keeping your account from trading as trading could result in a loss which would then cause your account to fall below $10,000.  To get this EA to start trading it is necessary to reduce the Minimum equity protection level.  For example, reducing it to $9100 would keep your account from drawing down more than 10%.

              Hi Alan,

Thanks for the reply again. I have not touched any settings of EA provided and just placed them on the chart as others. I do not understand that why the settings for only this one – GBP AUD M15 are not correct in the set file that I use for $10k account. In fact, the set file provided has these settings below which doesn’t make sense for $10k. Where can I get the default settings from ? Can I simply match the setting from another Robot – e.g. EURUSD M15? Or rather reach out to support to provide me that. I am not in the stage where I would want to tweak it as per my own knowledge but rather trade with the one that Petko has decided for $10k account.

              Hi Sammy,

The FTMO V5.1 robot setfiles for a 10K account are correct but they are different from the image you have provided.  Somehow, you did not load the correct setfile.  You should have been sent an email with a link for the correct setfiles and robots.  If you do not have these setfiles you will need to  contract [email protected] .

Also, you cannot just use setfiles for other EAs as the settings will not be correct.

              Alan,

Thanks Alan, my thoughts were same that I haven’t started trading and it was taken off the EA.

I have now asked the support to provide me the correct setfiles of that pair. The irony is that, any users who are downloading the robots and those setfiles, they will all have this error as I have now verified that the above settings in the screenshot is the setfile provided in that zip file.

Now, its the waiting game of when the support will come back to me. I might get my account connect to FXBlue meanwhile.

In fact, set files are not needed anymore if you use FTMO Robot App website. Now the question is that when I generate my new EA, what shall I do with already opened trades from the older version of EA before I remove the older EA and inject these new EA.

              Hi Sammy,

Yes, if you are going to use FTMO robots v6.0 you no longer need to load the set files.

As to whether or not to close open trades, that is a personal decision.  Maybe, leave the robots that are in profit continue to trade and let them hit their TP, and close out the losing trades, as an example of how to handle this situation.

        Hi Gaurav,

It says “Minimum equity protection activated” so the robot will not trade.  I see you have downloaded the 10K robots but your account size is 5K so there is a mismatch.  This is why you get the “Minimum equity protection activated” message in the upper left hand corner of the chart.  So you will need to change the robots properties according the the changes I sent to you earlier.

Your account size is not the issue.  I know there has been issues using the FTMO robots with MT5, however, the developer said he fixed the issue, but there could still be other issues.  If you can, you might switch to MT4 and see if you have better results.

        Hey Tanyeem,

You need to enable the Algo-trading before attaching the Robot to the chart. There two “algotrading” options:

        1. Tools -> Options -> “Expert Advisors” tab. “Enable algorithmic trading” checkbox.
        2. There is an “Algo Trading” button int the middle of the MetaTrader’s toolbar. It must be on before attaching the robot.

Another possibility is the broker to suspend trading due to swap calculations. It usually happens around midnight for several minutes.

      Hi tekbd,

Petko uses the FREE FTMO demo account to backtest. He will then take the best performing Expert Advisors and use them on other prop firms such as TFF.

      Good day FTMO Robot Team

I trust you are doing well

I purchased the FTMO robot earlier today.

It has just opened it’s first positions on my 100k FTMO Demo account.

I am trialing the robot on Demo before I add it to a live account.

AUD/USD & USD/CAD opened positions today but I noticed that 2 of the same positions were opened on each of these pairs.

Is this normal or is there perhaps a setting that I need to change? My Demo account is also connected to a VPS.

      Thanks in advance.

How many tabs are open on your meta trader? (with the FTMO robot activated)

I only have 1 tab open for each pair.

I have traded EA’s in the past and have never had this problem so I assumed 2 positions were just opened on each pair due to the EA.

2 positions opened on USDCAD at the exact same price & 2 positions opened on AUDUSD at the exact same price. Just worried this is not normal and puts me at higher risk.

      Hi Richard,

Are you using MT5 hedging account. If so this is most likely the reason.

      Thank you Alan

      Appreciate the response

Is there anyway I can change this to a non hedging account? I got a FTMO 100k demo account and I logged into that with the FTMO MT5

Another thing… Am I able to close trades manually because I tried to close 1 of the positions of each pair now and I can’t seem to close them manually.

        Hi Richard,

On second thought I don’t think the hedging account is the problem.  Do you have Metatrader running on both your home pc and on the VPS?  Do you have the robots running on both the home pc and the VPS?

I have closed MT5 on my laptop now and the EA’s are only running on my VPS.

Yes, that was the reason you were getting 2 open trades for the same currency pair.  You will now only get one open trade for each currency pair.

Yesterday I also loaded x2 a $50k and a $10k challenge accounts both on low risk no positions at all opened on both accounts.. Is anything I need to do?

        Hi Nchele,

When you go to FTMO app you will notice that AUDUSD only had 2 trades last week and the other 2 top robots only had 1 trade.  So as you can see the robots do not trade very often.  For this reason you need to give the robots more time to open trades.

As for the 50k and 10k challenges did you download and install the 50K and 10K robots?  If so then I think you just need to give the robots more time to open trades.

        Hi Tanyeem,

As long as there is a smiley face or a blue hat in the upper right hand corner of the trading window then the robots are working properly and you just need to give the robots more time to take trades.  Also, it appears from your response you have various accounts with different brokers / prop firms.  The robots will trade differently with differing brokers / prop firms because the historical data of the brokers / prop firms are different.  This is most likely the reason why you are seeing different results.

            Hi Tanyeem,

It is possible the backtester will show having taken a trade where the ftmo account does not.  How long have you had the ftmo accounts?  If you just started them this week then you need to give them more time.  Look at the FTMO app and see how many trades were taken in the last week.  It will show maybe one or two trades per week.  You may just need to give the robots more time to react.

      MY Dear Alan,

hello dear. Humbly, submitting everyone facing basically the same overarching issue Trades not getting placed, it builds up a maybe positive but nervous anxiety it can be solved only by one moment of eureka. Maybe if you see a bigger picture, since the robots maybe really good but timing is essence life is not instant gratification to me my eyed, but its action. Any trade can still go different ways even after a good start, but idea is an Eas job is to open a trade, all the robots need to act my license how I will renew again if it wont make 300$ target is my bootcamp 5000k account I’m till14 $ profit. A first step your entire robots Roi at least should come in 3 months don’t you think this way?

I have a simple idea -> This is why please check if the trading EAs are able to open one trade in beginning of the week even if its Monday closes  then if they are seeing Eas they can be left open if they come on by mid-week also is ok, As soon if they come into profit you could get a system of recognizing the trend has started, and in middle of trade ad to the position since very limited trades open, so ad more a Iceberg system that helps people actually pass a funded account, I think it’s a game changer FTMO Robot app you got but it needs to show up a courage to open a trade on a Monday. So, what if it loses one trade, and if its prediction goes right then a Game changer system could be a field of # auto # iceberg lot like pip starter this will be iceberg field.. its totally upto your team of development i have never seen anywhere exist i know Iceberg context . But if its possible it will only happen here I want to pass one challenge in my life. With fingers crossed

      lov

      Thank you Alan.

I have the same problem on 2 MT4 accounts with the same forex vps. Some trades are placed with one broker, and not the other.

I have looked into this and it seems that different brokers may not react the same way to the same EA.

Sometimes the FTMO robot closes a trade without it hitting the limit or stop orders. Could it happen that the broker does not take the sell order?

        Hi Aretri,

The robots have indicators built into them that tells when to open trades and when to close trades.  The SL and TP are secondary.  So if the built in indicators do not all line up to close a trade then if the SL and TP price levels are hit they will close the trade.

        Hi Julio,

Good, happy to hear you are getting a few trades.  So, as long as you have a smiley face in the upper right corner of your trading chart window then the Expert Advisors are working.  Here is what you need to know about using other brokers other than FTMO:  The FTMO V6.0 Expert Advisors were created using the FTMO servers historical data.  What you need to be aware of is that all brokers historical data will be somewhat different.  This is because there is no central clearing house where all brokers  / prop firms get their historical data.  As a result each broker / prop firm must go directly to central banks across the world to get their currency conversion data and from that the historical data is developed.  The problem is that not all brokers get their data from exactly the same banks.  As a result there is variations in the historical data.  Having said that please be aware that the FTMO app will show how many trades and profits each Expert Advisor has.  Since the historical data is different with different brokers the number of trades and the profit of each Expert Advisor may be different.

If the broker you are using is not generating any trades you might consider looking for a different broker.  What I have recommended in the past is to open demo accounts with 3 different brokers and see which one gives the best performance.

        Alan,

      Hi,

      FTMO robot and app

I have a 50k tft challenge, server and broker thinkmarkets on low risk and a 50k demo ftmo on high risk, I loaded the EAs as advised.

To my surprise ftmo has opened position on AUDCFH but on my tft challenge didn’t open position.? All load same time and following relevant prescribed video steps. Anything I’m doing wrong?

All above being said I have another 100k challenge account with fundednext on low risk, server fundedednext-demo, loaded EAs same as above but did not open position also on AUDCFH.?

Your best advice and experience will be highly appreciated.?

        Hi Nchele,

The various prop firms will open and close the FTMO robots differently.  You didn’t specify how long you have been trading with these various prop firms but in my opinion you just need to give the robots more time to place trades.

My advise when looking to use other prop firms is to first test them out with a minimum account to see how the FTMO robots perform before opening larger accounts.  If possible chose 3 or 4 prop firms, place the same robots with small lot size and test them for a month or two then pick the best performing one to open larger account.  Test, test, test, before opening large accounts.

Alan, here’s another puzzling occurrence. This sell position was opened as per normal with a 50 pip stop loss and 100 pip TP. The NFP news just came out and were in our favour for us to maximise profit. The position closed too soon. It seems that the TP was moved to around 12 pips. I only made a profit of $120. The market is still moving as we speak in our favour so I’m missing out on profit. Why would the position have closed way before 100 pips? I’m very disappointed.. Kindly I need response to this problem I just came across?

              Hi Nchele,

Here is what happened.  The FTMO robots have an internal Average True Range (ATR) indicator built into them such that when the range of a candle increased significantly it will close the trade.  Here is what it looked like on the chart.  When the 15 minute candle drawn on the chart due to NFP news event increase significantly the ATR (blue line) moved upward crossing the signal line (red horizontal line) and triggered the robot to close the trade.  The reason the ATR closes the trade is because sometimes after a wide ranging candle the trend will change directions and start losing.  The ATR helps to keep a profitable trade from turning into a losing trade.

Hi Alan, thank you for the revert.

My main worry is the inconsistency of the ea across the various prop firms. Even though I’ve loaded the ea on exactly the same assets across the prop firms, the signals are seemingly different. Why is that?

Please indulge me for a moment and let’s forget about the various prop firms. I have a 10k challenge account on ftmo and I also have a 50k trial account. The ea opened a sell position (audchf) on the trial account but nothing on the 10k account. These are from the same prop firm, why would there be a signal discrepancy. This is confusing 🤷🏾‍♂️. I don’t get it Allan.

The demo account and the challenge account use different servers.  You can check this by looking at the login credentials for both accounts and look at the server name.

              Hi Alan,

What’s your recommendation if the top 3 has a duplicated asset but on different time frames. Example, top 3 is reflecting audchf M30, xauusd M5 and audchf M5.

Also how often do you guys refresh the robots. I refresh daily on the weekly time frame. Is that too much? What’s your recommendation.

And I understand that your responses will be a recommendation.

              Hi Nchele,

When you look at the FTMO app the chart named “XAUUSD M15 v6.0 #365481517” notice the v6.0, this is version 6.0 and must be installed on MetaTrader in the M15 chart.

When you look at the FTMO app the chart named “XAUUSD M5 v6.1 #1402217685” notice the v6.1, this is version 6.1 and must be installed on MetaTrader in the M5 chart.

When you look at the FTMO app the chart named “XAUUSD M30 v6.1 #552113322” notice the v6.1, this is version 6.0 and must be installed on MetaTrader in the M30 chart.

These are 3 different versions.  Version 6.0 or v6.0 is the orignial robot the two version 6.1 charts or v6.1 are two new versions with different time frames.

I too have not had any profit in the robots over the last two months. Sometimes, as traders, we will go through a protracted stagnation period, but as I have learned since starting my trading career in 1985, yes I am an old man, after the dry spell comes the rain. I am expecting some good profits in the near future. I am sorry to hear you giving up on the robots!

              Hi Alan,

You are mixing the two, ftmo robot is not opening trades that’s the issue, this has nothing to do with patience. All you need to do is to look into your EAs problem of not opening trades. I’m not the only person raising this problem, by now you can see this problem is common and your EA as advertised it doesn’t work with all prop firms that I can confirm.

NB: please I asked, how long does it take to receive my refund, you didn’t answer me on that question? Kindly advise.

              Thank you

              Hi Nchele,

This chart shows I have two open trades in my FTMO 50K Challenge. As can be seen the FTMO robots do open trades.

For better clarity right click on image and click on open image in new tab.

As to how long it takes to get your refund I do not know the answer. You would have to ask that question when you ask for a refund.

              Hi Alan,

Telling me that you have open trades doesn’t help me as a client, because I’m still sitting with a problem of no open trades. By saying that doesn’t resolve my issue… fact!!

By telling me you have open trades that’s totally irrelevant to me. What’s relevant to me is why how to get the robot to open trades, that’s important to me, that’s why I bought the robot, to trade. You should be worried about my robot not getting trades helping me in that regard.

Also your money back guarantee is so short is only within 30 days. That doesn’t help much.

              Anyway, thank you.

              Dear Alan,

i am humbled by your team blessed to get a great mentorship under You and Chief Petko and I love your absolute commitment to the EA traders academy . HOWEVERY, be very clear kindly take this feedback for the future understand please relay to dear Petko also the issue is your FTMO robots not placing trades actively every week this is what I have been sayin since day zero please ensure a system to correct it somehow update your robots .. I have shared many ideas where they can be made more active atleast once every week all the robots must place minimum on trade regardless of MT4/5

              Hi Gaurav,

Thank you for your comments. I am somewhat confused as to a few things so maybe you can elaborate on the following:

              1. Actively trading every week: What is your definition of actively?
              2. Robots are updated multiple times each month: Why are you thinking the robots are not updated?

              Sorry Alan,

On Saturday we are discussing but cherry 🍒 is somehow my wording is not coming accurately here. It’s only your robots taking trades I have no idea what to do that each (One) 4 out of 4  of  my downloaded robots take a trade at The Start of the week max by Tuesday all robots that are in play in my acount have placed a trade max by teuesday. Which means at least 4 trades in 4 robots can be open .. maybe. Not an update the idea is a something real that profits can be seen or losses can be incurred by Thursday . No trade Friday only calibrate

sounds like I could explain..? Every week downloading robots based on performance I think puts roobots EAs mood off ? Maybe. I’m super stupid. But maybe it’s a blind spot. I saw your earlier mT4 somewhere in one acount your using 100k robot some asset ,  in a 50 k acount and some other robot 10k in 50k acount this is what maybe we all need a a video how you could do this set up. Please 🙏 request you to show how this can be done by us.. maybe this is what we are not in the know how? Absolute genius you are  we are all looking upto thsi intelligence a Video to show how you could enter trades where we learn. Danke Vielmals

              love

              Hi Gaaurav,

I am in Texas and contracted by eatradingacademy to moderate the forum. I do not have the equipment to create videos like Petko. All I can do is to explain in the forum how I do my trading with the robots. I only use the FTMO Challenges and Infinity forex funds Algo Evaluations. These accounts have not made any profit over the last two weeks. However, the profits will come I just have to be patient and continue trading. My advise to new traders is to use FTMO demo account or FTMO Challenge to eliminate some of the issues that come up when using other prop firms.

      Dear Traders,

I notice some of you are getting quite frustrated with the FTMO robots so I thought I would share the following:

January through May are good months for trading the forex market.
June through August are the worst months for trading the forex market as the big traders that move the markets take vacations.
September through the first half of December are the best months for trading the forex market.

This month, January 2024, has not lived up to expectations as being a good month for trading the forex market.  However, do not be despaired as we still have February through May to look forward to some good profits.  It may occur where we have to go through several weeks of disappointments but be patient the profits will come to those who stay the course.

      Dear Traders,

When using the FTMO robots on other prop firms do not expect to see the same performance as the historical data of the various prop firms may be somewhat different.  Also, the top 3 robots from the FTMO app may not be the top 3 on other prop firms.  When using other prop firms I recommend testing all robots with a small lot size for a month to learn if the FTMO robots are profitable and how their performance compares to testing on the FTMO prop firm.  Once you have determined the prop firm works well with the FTMO robots then you can pick the top 3 from the FTMO app and trade them with the prop firm you have tested.

I am now testing a different prop firm each month to determine how well they perform using the FTMO robots.

In January I tested “Infinity Forex Funds” and found this prop firm performed equally well compared with the FTMO prop firm using the FTMO robots.  So on Monday I will be using the top 3 from the FTMO app on IFF.

In February I will be testing “FX2 Funding”.

        Hi fahd,

The results you are getting are normal.  When you look at the FTMO app and select the weekly charts you can see how many trades were opened during the last week for all the different currency pairs.  This will help you understand how often these currency pairs trade.

So if I understand correctly it’s quite normal while in 2 days I had two transactions so the robots of the new update filters more trade i.e. there is not much open trade so it’s normal if I understand correctly?

Good day EA Trading academy members

I am just wanting to find out if your EA’s have been taking trades?
I have set everything up perfectly and have set up all the different pairs on my Metatrader 5.

I have not had a trade on any of the pairs today and I am just beginning to worry that something may be wrong with the way I have setup the EA’s. I honestly have done everything by the textbook.

Is it just the Robots that take so few trades?

      Cheers

        Hi Jay,

If the robots are making good weekly profit you can hold for another week.  If one of the robots is not making good profit then you might just want to replace that one robot.

        Hi Alejandro,

I selected the top 3 weekly robots and started trading them this week.  Today I have two open trades.  For me to help you further I need more information.  Which robots are you trading and did you select the weekly or monthly robots and are you using MT4 or MT5.  Also are you using FTMO demo account or challenge, what size account and when you selected the robots which selections did you make such as max daily loss, max loss, and profit target.

        Alan,

I am operating with the gold robots in two time frames 5 min and 30 min and the USDCAD, select the weekly robots, I use Metatrader 4, I am not using the ftmo challenge I operate with the blueberrymarkets broker that uses the profirm kortana and that I did not previously I had problems trading until a week ago and I haven’t opened any trades. I selected them in an account of 10,000 dollars and all the daily loss, maximum loss and profit target parameters are at a value of 0.
I only use the account to generate profits in the kortana profirm.

            Hi Alejandro,

As long as kortana allows trading with EAs and you have a smiley face in the upper right corner of the chart the robots should be working.

To test the robots you can do a backtest using the Strategy Tester.

This happens when the robot properties are not set up correctly for your account size.  Are you using a prop firm, if so which one.  What is your account size.  Also show a screenshot of the complete robot properties box so I can check all the parameters.

      Hi Akhrorkhon,

If you are using MT4 and you see a smiley face in the upper right corner of the Chart then the EA is set up correctly and you just need to give the EA more time to trade.

If you are using MT5 and you see a Blue Hat in the upper right corner of the Chart then the EA is set up correctly and you just need to give the EA more time to trade.

Since the beginning of the week I have had 5 robots on my charts. AUDUSD v6.0 m6, XAUUSD v6.0 m15, AUDCHF v6.1 m5, USDCAD v6.1 m5, XAUUSD v6.1 m5. None of them have opened a trade since the beginning of the week.

I have had differences between the robot app results and my actual trades so could you please confirm if these pairs actually didn’t open trades this week yet or is something wrong with my settings?

      Hello Alan.

Thanks for your support and attention.

I also have this issue. My 8cap broker, set on a vps, does not take all the trades that are sent. It is frustrating, because it is impossible to replicate the FTMO robot.

If I took a challenge on FTMO prop firm, would this issue be resolved? On my part, there does´nt seem to be much that I can do.

      Thanks again for your support.

        Hi Aretri,

Interesting question! I have an FTMO Challenge and an Infinity Forex Fund Algo Evaluation, which uses 8cap, and the FTMO and IFF funds both very closely track each other but are not exactly duplicating each other. I am happy with the comparison between FTMO and IFF. Why your 8cap broker is not closely tracking FTMO while IFF is, mostly likely has to do with the 8cap broker and IFF using different servers.

I have been happy with FTMO and Infinity Forex Funds.

      Hello and thanks Alan.

I will try to test it with another vps server. Maybe Forex vps, or if you can recommend one. I´m using New york city servers right now.

      thanks

Good day EA Trading academy team

      I trust you are well.

I have all the top 14 robots from the last 5 years on my account and there have been very few trades.
Nothing has been taken this week and nothing was taken last week Friday.

I just want to know if anyone has been getting some open trades?

      Regards

I started an account two weeks ago that has 2 open trades.  I started another account beginning of last week that has 3 open trades.  Curiously they are not the same trades even though they are using the same EAs.

        Hi Fontana,

The FTMO app shows the performance of the robots for the previous week and not the current week after you place the robots on the chart.

I too have the robots running on my FTMO Challenge. Over this last weekend I ran some analyses. The results showed trading the robots based upon selecting the top 3 from the 5 year selection performed the best. So, to test my analyses, this week I chose to trade the top 3 based upon the last 5 years. So far this week the robots have not taken a trade. I will continue to trade these robots for the next several weeks to see how selecting the top 3 over the last 5 years performs. Just thought I would share how I am trading the robots!

I’ve installed the FTMO robot from the new video of Pesko. https://youtu.be/U5-sRBhZwk0?si=L58kPzsp5i2Esdee

I have the bot running for a whole day with no trades being made and no errors in the journal. Is this normal behavior for the bot? The bot is running on a FTMO 100K demo account.

        Hi Llalmar,

You can look at the FTMO app and then look at the robot you downloaded. Then you can see how many trades were taken over the lookback period such as one week or one month or one year or five years. This will give you an idea as to how often the robot places trades.

Yes Pesko have made one FTMO robot available for free. So I will test the robot  if it’s profitable. I see also many messages of people who have problems with the bot. I see more messages of problems then succes. But that’s often the case, that the people who have problems will go to the forum and the people that have success will not post a message. Or not so many as people who have a problem with the bot. I will post my results when I’m finished testing the bot.

        Hi Ruben,

Trading the FTMO app robots is not necessarily for everyone. I would suggest creating your own robots using EA Studio. This way you would have more control over how the robots are created. Besides my trading the FTMO app robots I also create my own FTMO robots using EA Studio. Recently, I started sharing the results of my robots on the forum so traders not having success with the FTMO app robots could see there is another way to trade robots. The following link will take you to the topic where I share the results of my own FTMO robots.

      Hi there

I completed the compiling of all the downloaded EAs and attached each one to the correct timeframe

After attaching the chart, I notice the EA disconnects from the chart after little more than 1 minute. Any idea why ?

Did I miss anything at the installation ?

        Hi Patrick,

This happens when the FTMO robots downloaded do not match up with the account balance. For example: If you have an account balance of $10,000 then with the FTMO app you need to select the account size before you download the EAs. You also need to select the correct Max Loss, Max Daily Loss, and the Profit target.

Hey Patrick, in a recent discussion Miroslav from our dev team explained why the FTMO Robot deactivates due to the ‘Minimum equity’ protection feature. The robot is designed with three key protections to align with Prop Challenge requirements: Daily loss, Minimum equity, and Maximum equity, with specified thresholds to manage risks effectively. For an account with a different size than the build-in you need to modify the protections and adjust entry lots. For 80,000 EUR account an easy solution would be to divide the relevant properties in the $100,000 robot file by 0.8 (80,000:100,000=0.8).

(Has anyone found any consistency from testing to actual trading)

I’ve done testing and I’m currently running the FTMO Robot on 5 different charts.

I’m 3 days in and not a single trade has been placed.

      • “Allow Options” have been checked.
      • “Algo Trading” is turned on.
      • Entry lots is below 1.0.
      • I’ve tried increasing the spread (points) but it was already good.
      • News filter is working.
      • Active protections showing on each chart are good.
      • Allow Algo Trading is checked for each EA.
      • I don’t see any errors.
      • All the other values are good too.

I’ve done testing over an extended period of time and have an average of what to expect each week and month. I even rounded down to give a more realistic number. My concern is that with the 5 charts that are running I haven’t has one trade open yet.

      Something doesn’t feel right here.

If no trades open up this week I’m expecting approximately 30 trades to open over the next 3 weeks. I know that will not realistically happen. This is why I’m mentioning something now.

      Has anyone else experienced this?

I’m wonder is this EA is blocking trades on this account?

It appears this week has been a complete waste. I’m curious to hear from anyone who has experienced this and was able to resolve it.

Maybe there is something simple I’m overlooking?

I’m not sure if there is anything else to consider.

        Hi Fxbam,

At the beginning of this week I placed all 14 robots in my Infinity Forex Funds (IFF) 100K Algo Evaluation account. I am using IFF as FTMO Challenges are not available in the United States. So far this week I have had one robot XAUUSD open a trade.

To see how often you should expect the robots to trade go to the Prop Firms Robots app, select Y1, then look at how many trades were made by the robot you want to trade. For example, if the number of trades shows 52 trades this indicates the robot will make 1 trade per week on average.

        Hi Philip,

You should not risk more than 3% of your account balance. So for example, if you choose robots with 1% risk then you should not trade more than three robots. If you decide to trade 4 robots then you should adjust the lot size to reduce risk. As an alternative you could download robots with low risk. In this case you could trade as many as 6 robots which would result in an account risk of 3%.

Hi, I’ve added the top 3 weekly performers from the robot app to a demo account. I followed all the steps carefully, but none of them have opened any trades in a week. My VPS stayed online, algo trading is enabled, I’ve downloaded the 10k set files as instructed, and my demo account is also set at 10k. The robot app shows the XAUUSD robot opened trades last week, but mine hasn’t. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

      Hi burakosova,

You can see how often the robots place trades on average by looking at them in the Prop Firm app. For example, the XAUUSD robot opens a trade on average once a week. I would expect you will see a trade develop next week.

I wonder if this is true? This could explain why my EAs (5 charts) haven’t been trading over the last 2 weeks. I’m going to disable news on all of them and see if that makes a difference. I’ll let you know if I see an improvement over the next week.

      Hi Marco,

If you go to the Prop Firm Robot App, set the time period to Y1 and look at each robot you downloaded you can see how often each robot trades on average. For example: EURAUD right now says it had placed 52 trades over the last one year. This means it makes one trade each week on average. This will give you an idea how often you should expect the robots to trade.

Also, it doesn’t make any difference to the robots if your home currency in the US dollars or the Euro.

For reference, I have also added the following links to show you how I trade the robots. This might help to give you an idea on how you can devise your own trading plan.

My robots didnt open any trades but when i check the same week from robot app the same robots made some trades. However this week my robots opened trades through 03.03-09.03 week but the results arent the same with the robot app. Here is my XAUUSD m5 v6.1 robot stats and the same robot for the past week from the robot app

as you can see my robot opened 1 trade and lose 1% since my account is 25k but with same account size robot app shows 4 trades and 281$ profit. I placed that one last weekend so it was running the whole week.

        Hi burakosova,

The actual trading results with your broker can be different than what shows up in the Prop Firm Robot app. Even with FTMO I have noticed differences when the same robot is traded on the FTMO demo account and the FTMO Challenge account. The reason for this is the historical data are not the same.

Here is what you need to know about the Prop Firm Robots app: The results shown on the app are from backtesting done with EA Studio and not from trading on an FTMO demo account or an FTMO Challenge. While EA Studio is the best backtester there is, it does not perfectly replicate the same results of an FTMO demo account or an FTMO Challenge. It is a backtest simulation!!! Therefore, while XAUUSD M15 showed the same result as the Prop Firm Robot app I wouldn’t expect it to perfectly match your trading results every week. Also, for the same reason, don’t expect the results of XAUUSD M5 to always be same as the app.

ok thank you for your response. Also as i understand Petko passed some challenges with placing top 3 performers from the last week. I am also trying that and the robots from the last week have an opened position does he closes them or waiting for the trades to reach tp or sl.

      • #240610
        Anonymous

        Hi burakosova,

Yes it is possible to pass the challenge with the top 3 robots from the previous week but it is not always possible. If it were possible to do this every time he would have passed all the challenges and varification stages and he would have max’ed out all the funded accounts possible on all the prop firms. What you need to know about trading is there are no guarantees only possibilities. For this reason, while Petko has passed challenges using the top 3 robots from the previous week I do not believe he always succeeds a passing the challenge this way.

I am not sure if Petko always allows the robots to reach tp or sl. What makes sense to me is if the robot is very close to reaching the tp but looks to be changing direction I would close out the trade and I wouldn’t doubt Pekko would do the same thing. Also if a trade is close to sl and starts to change direction I would let the trade continue to run. If the trade the starts to reverse direction again and start heading towards sl at that point I would close out the trade.

      Hi Francesco,

In the upper left corner of your trading chart it shows the Minimum Equity protection has activated. This stops your account from trading. This happened because the Prop Firm robots you installed on your trading chart is for a 100K account, whereas, your account size is $50,000. You need to download the 50K robot and install it in your trading chart.

Do we need to allow for the indicators to show on screen for the EA to take trades or this is not affecting trading?

        Hi Konstantino,

If you see a smiley face or a blue hat in the upper right corner of the trading chart then the EAs are installed properly and you just need to give the EAs more time to take trades.

        Hi Paul4x,

After you add the EAs to Metatrader close Metatrader and then re-0pen it.  You should now see the EAs in the Navigator window.  Once you see the EAs in the Navigator window you can then install them onto the trading chart.

After downloading the mql file and opening it in the Metaeditor, you would need to compile it for the EA file to be created. This will add the corresponding EA file right above the mql file in the same folder/location you have your mql file at. You can then transfer/copy-paste the newly created EA file to your MT5 terminal data folder -> mql5 -> experts.

After that close the window and then refresh the experts list in your MT5 by right click in the navigator experts list tab then click refresh. This will bring the new EA in the list ready for you to add to the corresponding chart. I hope this helps.

This happens because the robots you downloaded do not match the account size so the robots turned themselves off to protect your account.  For example, if you have a $10,000 account then you need to download the robots for a $10,000 account.  Which robots did you install?  Can you show a screenshot?

Hi guys. Got my first XAU trade on M15 from FTMO Prop EA. I immediately closed all other manual trades i had opened to give air and room for this trade as although the lot size is small, the range of the trade is quite big and i assume thats why it takes days to close if not in favourable trend. However, risking about 250$ per trade that means any other trading in the account should be restricted to minimum or very closely monitored. I use the manual trade mainly to increase to support of the big one in margin available (if in profit) as every little counts, and if in loss to lose small. Now if the FTMO EA goes very close to TP i would close and take that profit and not place any more trades until next day. I would wait for another win of the EA before thinking of raising the lot and only after i see if the same pair is again in the top 3 performers in the app after the week closes. I would then choose accordingly between weekly and monthly optimisation EAs (for me daily and monthly are not suitable).

Hello, I am using FTMO (now Prop firm) robots  on my live and demo accounts for about 4 months. Really it’s getting worse and worse. I cannot show you all my results from demo accounts because I have only one month demos at my broker, but you can watch my last week results on my demo.

      https://www.fxblue.com/users/ftmodemo10000

I have  all 14 EAs active on my demo, but on my live account I use only six (month’s) best from Prop Firm App. Unfortunately these which are the best in week for example 12 give worse results in week 13 than others which are the best in next week.  It means on my live account where I’m using 6 best EAs my results are bad as well. In my opinion current market conditions are different from those that existed at the time of creation EAs and they simply need updating, I mentioned about it in another topic.  I think I will not renew my subscription if the results are still the same as they are now.

      Hi Gregor,

I reviewed your FXblue results.  I suggest keeping AUDCHF.pro and USDCHF.pro with current lot sizes.  Change other lots sizes to 0.01.  Each weekend sort by Net pips, largest to smallest.  Then look at Symbols.  Pick the ones that are in profit with profit factor greater than 1.2 and increase their lot size to the risk level you are willing to accept.  Move all other assets to 0.01 lots. repeat each weekend.  This is how I do it.  I do not expose my account to more than 3%.  For example, if I find 4 assets that have profit for last week and profit factor greater than 1.2 I set each of their lot sizes to represent 0.75% of account balance.

You can follow my topic from start to current status to get an idea of how I trade the robots.  The robots I trade are my own but the workflow is the same:

        Hi Alan,

I started a new topic called ‘Top 10 EAs general questions and 50% discount’ where I also attached some screenshots but it says now ‘This topic is pending moderation.’ and I cannot see it. Is it posted or something went wrong and I have to do it again? Thank you!

I approved it so you can see it now.  However, I do not cover those particular EAs so one of the other moderators will have to reply to your questions and concerns.

      Hi Alan,

thanks a lot. I might have mixed up the topics. Can just please clarify – are the Prop Firm Robots(former FTMO robot) a different animal from the Top 10 EAs, I am getting quite confused. Tnaks again!

      best regards

      Hi Boyan,

Yes they are different apps.  They have different strategies.  The Prop Firm robots are best for using with prop firms.  The Top 10 EAs are best used with brokerage accounts and are tested using the brokerage accounts listed.  I would recommend using the same brokerage accounts.

I’ve not had any luck with these EA’s either.

I put them on a brand new 25k challenge account and thought it would generate a safe return over a timeframe. So far it has not made a single profitable trade, hitting stop loss on 2/3 of the trades.

Strategy with this was to use low and medium risk top 3 EA’s for the previous week, checking against the monthly performances, so far this has not worked out. This week I have dropped the take profit pips in hopes it will take any small profit it can, but so far I have not had a single trade that was not negative.

Any ideas what can be done differently? Are the robots not supposed to be able to be used out of the box?

      Hi Boyan,

Yeah the prop firm robots. I’m currently using the top 3 for the week for 25k account

According to the EA download page, i should be seeing at least a bit of profit, but I’ve got nothing.

      Hi Gavin,

thank you for sharing your experience. For how long have you been using those? I wonder why these Robots made the most profits on the challenges results page? Also Peko makes videos about passing challenges with those. I have a brand new FX2 Funding challenge which I have to start trading soon and I am not sure which robot to start with. I was planing to do it with the Forex Gold Investor, it was crushing it before the 12th of April. Not sure what to do now, I will maybe buy the Forex Diamond EA.

I’ve got a similar problem, using the Prop firm robots as they are on a new 25k account, and they just seem to be tanking it including 4 triggered stop losses losing over 700 in a week. I am using the top 3 for the previous week, on either low or medium risk and just not getting any trades that are not negative.

Are the robots not fit for purpose or am i just doing something wrong?  This week I have reduced the take profit pips in hope that it can at least trigger an earlier take profit – even if it is just tiny but nothing yet.

      Here are the trades:

      trades

      Current EA’s:

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Should it not be a plug-and play system? I really hoped I could use this on a larger account but looks like I may need to rethink that plan.

      Hi Boyan,

Sorry I’m not sure where my previous comment went..

I am using the Prop Firm ones that are currently top 3 for low risk.

According to the EA page i downloaded them from, I am supposed to be at least a little bit profitable but so far.. nothing.

      EURAUD M15 v6.0 #1486211416 – profit $198, drawdown 0.05%

      USDCHF M15 v6.1 #1586270803 – profit $196, drawdown 0.49%

      AUDCHF M30 v6.1 #1460069807 – profit $186, drawdown 0.13%

those are apparent returns, I am currently -$770, so either I am doing something wrong or these just do not work as advertised.

      Hi Gavin,

The following link will send you to a 9 week series of comments on how I trade the robots I created with EA Studio on my Infinity Forex Fund challenge which is just a few hundred dollars away from getting funded.  You can use the same workflow to trade the Prop Firm robots.  If you study my workflow and apply it I am sure you can win a challenge.  I am also using the same workflow on three other accounts.

hello, some prop firms add other letters to thier simbols, like EURUSDC, they put letter C after every simble and the robot cant read it, is there some adjustments we can do on the software to make it read it ?

        Hi ahmadaboud,

The added characters after the symbol is just the brokers way of identifying the name of the chart.  The robots do not read the chart name, they read the bars or candles on the chart.  If you are using MT4 and see a smiley face in the upper right corner of the chart, or if you are using MT5 and see a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart, then the robots are working correctly.

      Hi Alan,

I took a quick look at you rworkflow, it looks very complex and time consuming. I am still new to forex trading and I thought if I would buy the Prop Firm Robots they would pass the challenge almost automatically and all I have to do is to check in the app week for week what are the top 1 -3 performers. Apparently it is not doable like this, maybe I will look for another solution. In this context I find videos like ‘The Prop Firm Robots Passed 100k Challenge Fully Automatically’ on the TA YT channel misleading.

        Hi Boyan,

My workflow is not the only workflow in successful trading it is what I found works best for me.  My workflow tests the robots and then increases the lot size on those robots that are profiting.  It takes me about 30 minutes once every weekend to check which robots worked best the previous week and then to update the lot sizes.  Then I am done for another week.

The workflow on the YT channel is what Petko uses.  Petko takes robots shown to be profitable and put them on a challenge.  If they hit profit target then that account gets funded.  If he loses that account because of excessive draw down then he starts over with a new challenge.  He repeats this process until the account gets funded.

While both of your workflows achieves funded accounts they are not the only ones that can be used to become a successful trader.  Every successful trader has figured out the workflow that works best for them.  I hope you too will figure out what works best for you.

      Hello guys,

trying to get some insight on these:

      1. I understand that optimisation in the app is providing best trade settings per TF and historical data chosen per account size. So besides, lot size do I need to adjust entry protections (spread, max positions max lot) or for example the entry time/schedule? What would you suggest please?

      2. I check for 1-3 top performers looking for smoother graph line and lower DD version and use only these. Any suggestions here as well please?

            Hi Konstantino,

So, when you access the Prop Firm Robot app the first thing you do is to select the account size, the Daily DD, the Max DD, the Profit target, the risk, and the news filter option.  Lets say you select 1% risk.  This means you are risking 1% of the account balance.  So if you chose to trade 3 robots then the total account risk is 3%.   So if the prop firm you are using has a daily DD limit of 5% then there is nothing you need to do.  Professional traders do not risk more than 2% on each trade nor do they risk more than a total account risk of 6%.  So this strategy would be inline with what the pros do.

I like the idea of looking for the smoother graph line.  This is the same as looking for the robots with the lower DD.

            Alan,

My strategy on reading top performers is : check pairs from Y5 to D1 all the graphs that show smoother lines, lowest DD and match those in Y1 with no big balance gaps against time elapsed to figure out ideally how long it will take for the bots to show positive performance. Then choose no more than 3 top performers to use per week and repeat the process every Sunday to check for changes.

Great!  Now that you have defined your strategy, test it to make sure it is a profitable strategy.  If not, then find out what went wrong, improve on it, and test again.

A wee update on progress : EU, AU and XAU bots have been running on my 3 challanges (10k, 25k and 50k) for about a couple weeks now. In general there is more win in value than loss, vast majority of trades is with XAU and the last week was not good but still safe under the EP limit.

EU made a couple of trades both of them wins. However for both pairs since the TP was pretty far away, i had to close the trades in profit manually after at least 3/4 of the TP run was done. Sometimes by setting manual trail in MT or by simply cloing the position.

Now based on the above, i will try a different set up for the coming week focusing on even lower top performers 1-2. I will also get all bots in the app running on a 25k demo making sure their total lot size is within the 1% of the medium risk. I ll run them for at least a month to check best performers there and compare with what the app suggests and my selections for the first couple of weeks in order to cross check and have a better view.

I am pretty sure that not all top performers will perform on the blue side, however i am also pretty sure that there are 1-3 that will show promising consistency and i am more than curious to see that since different brokers, different pairs and different market conditions can vastly affect theoretical optimisation, so real market conditions would probably the only way to have better understanding and verify.

              Hi Konstantino,

Great job this past week.  I like your approach for this next week.  Let us know how it goes!

After you manually closed EU what did it do after words?  Did it continue higher, did it finally hit its profit target, or, did it turn down keeping you from a loss?  You should document this so every time you manually close a position you will have a record of it.  From this record you will be able to determine over the long term which strategy, manually stop out or let it run, would have been more profitable.

              Alan,

Hey Alan, thanx for the feedback. The EU trade was closed completely as i didnt set up partial tp. After that the bot didnt open any other trades on the same day. After that i switched to a different set up keeping the XAU as more active and due to its higher value wins i had.

However the past few days XAU on M15 has opened a few trades the wrong way (or at least the against the market but at the correct direction at the time just the market didnt follow) so this week i wa a bit at loss. Far from the EP and the losses were smaller as the sl or the manual closing/manual trail were much shorter than the win runs. I am now trying to self control against getting scared if a trade goes the wrong way for say 3-4 hours with no signs or reversal and also trying to figure out if setting manual trail sl would help in some cases. In general, i have studied Petko’s approach with choosing only 1-2 top performers and changing nothing of the settings and simply trusting the system and let it run its course. Maybe only tweak lot size a bit and if profitable start scaling up.

One thing i noticed is that Thursday and Friday XAU opened 2-3 trades thinking it will go buy but market went massively sell so the bot stayed the course until it closed earlier at some point with about 70-100$ loss and at the same time opened a new trade on the prevailing direction and gained back some of the losses in the end. But, since this is not grid or martingale, does the bot do that in general? Closing early and opening new opposing trade on its own? I didnt see any close at opposite signal settings.

              Hi Konstantino,

Last week we had some high risk news events against the US Dollar so this is the reason gold didn’t do well.  Over the long tern these news events will favor the US Dollar and gold so it will all average out.  Since sometimes these news events can go against gold I would not risk too much on gold so keep lot size under control so gold doesn’t significantly DD your account when these news events occur.  Some traders try to close trades ahead of these news events.  The problem is there are so many during the month it is hard to stay on top of them.  Besides, sometimes these news events will favor the EAs.  As a result, I do not try to time these news events I just keep risk under control.

I like to document my trades and my strategy so I can refer back to them and see where I did good and what needs to be improved.  I think all traders should do this.

I think you are starting to get control of your trading so keep up the good work.

Why is the traded not triggered after following all instructions for installing the bot ?

Also why is it that when trying to plug in on all other account the bot goes off on other accounts plugged earlier?

      Hi Efe,

As to why the trade is not triggered depends upon the Expert Advisor you are using. Some EAs may only trigger a trade one a week on average.

As to why the bot goes off on other accounts is most likely because the account protections have been activated. If you provide a screenshot of the trading chart I may be able to clarify better.

Thanx so much Alan really appreciate it.

Now regarding news 2 things I’d like to ask: 1. Shouldn’t the EA avoid opening trades during high impact news 2 mins before and 5 minutes after? And if so should we increase this time frame let’s say 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after to avoid these news? Or as you said the news sometimes are just too many so restricting the EA in general could also prevent it entering some favourable news positions and it is virtually impossible to say which is which and try to keep out from all of these so it’s better to let’s say avoid the hard core of the events 2-5 minutes before/after to also be within the prop firms regulation of trading news but also keep the lot size under control so in case things do go south the loss won’t be that big. And simply wait for better days.

I was also thinking about the idea of closing any trade during high impact news (or switch off autotrading) if I see that it goes beyond an acceptable loss limit for me, more than 1/3-1/2 of the SL distance, as this is clearly a sign that price is going the other way to place its self in a position of a new high only to drop/rise from that point after the market is no longer interested in that position (so should also keep an eye on volume – very low volume on strong uptrend/downtrend is a strong indicator of a reversal coming up). But this is something you can manually act upon but a bot should follow its system no matter what and this is what it supposed to do. Which means let it run do its thing be careful with lot size and eventually things should change.

        Hi Efe,

Just give it more time and it will provide trades.  When you look at the Prop Firm Robot app and look at the ccount of trades it will give you an idea as to how often the robot trades on average.  From this you can get an idea as to how often you should expect the robot to trade.  For example, if you look at Y1 and the count of trades shows 52 you can figure that robot provides one trade per week on average.  Hope this helps!

      Hi

I have purchased and downloaded PropFirm Ea and put it onto an FTMO CHART. The only problem is that it says the “EA turned off” on the chart and it hasn’t placed any trades.

IF you can let me know how to trade the PropFirm EA that would be helpful.

      Hi Anne,

This happens when one of the account protections was activated. You can see this in the upper left corner of the trading charts. To resolve this issue you need to modify the Account Protections which is located in the EA properties box.

This usually occurs when downloading the robots where the account balance chosen doesn’t match the actual prop firm account balance.

      Greetings!

Happened to notice that the Robots are not quite working well. As an example, USDCHF is making highs and EA is not giving any buy signals.

Please make sure the ones are updated and working well. After making so much scrutiny I opted for Prop Robots and this is not performing as expected.

I will see the performance for another few days.

Agree, all robots are not updated and in general there are losses even you choose only 3-4 the best from last month. There are not shown any losses at prop robots app, you can see only 11 which have no loss, but it isn’t a true. Last weeks I tested all 14 robots on my demo and they have very bad results, you can see it in my other posts. The same performs on my live account, but with 6 the best. My money is thrown away and I will not extend my subscription until the robots are updated and start working.

        Hello Gregor,

I see that you are not having a good experience with our Prop Firm Robots.

Please keep in mind that there are bad periods for all robots. Last month we passed a challenge with the Prop Firm Robots. What we did is that we were looking for the top 5 everyday on the Weekly timeframe and High Risk.

What I would suggest is that you try different combinations such the one mentioned above and see which one is working for you. Of course try on a demo account.

        Hope this helps!

        Kind Regards,
        Nikos

      Thanks for your inputs Gregor.

The team has to observe keenly on the development of the said robots.

We brought the Robots thinking that we don’t have to sit in front of the system all the time, and the chosen Robots will take care of our trades, even though we are not actively participating in punching the trades manually.

Our chief aim to procure these Robots is to get profitable/pass the challenges, in our absence.

Many times, most of the pairs are moving a lot and robots are not participating in the Rally/Downfall. By the naked eyes we can see the changes happening.

Many opportunities are coming on daily basis and most of the times, Robots are sitting idle (As they are created/designed for certain scenarios to happen).

I brought the Prop Robots for life time and what I am expecting is they should participate in trade on daily basis.

As trading is happening around 23 Hours a Day and we are unable to find a trade means seriously those are to be re-coded to meet Industries best EAs. (For Example, a Simple Crossover trades we can find any chosen time frames, with minimum 1:3 RR).

Let’s wait for the team on how they can increase the efficiency.

I turned off all prop robots from academy on my live account and I am working manually, results are much better now . But I didn’t pay for robots to hold them. When you take out for exempel 3-4 best robots from last month they are not the best in the next week, because quite different are the best in this week. The ones you choose bring looses this week, and so on. I think all they need is an update to current market conditions using FSB (forex strategy builder)

That’s very true. Out of 12 months in a year there will be 9 Plus algo changes in stock market, afterall markets are run by Robots. So we are not certain the last month winning stratgey will work in the next month. If you succeed by using the same old startegy then you are lucky enough. The setups has to be updated on continuous basis. And we can’t test the startgies long time in demo accounts and once we deployed them on real account, we might experience strange experiences (You mentioned that you had experience already).

      Hi

I am having trouble getting the PropFirmEA to turn on and my previous post was deleted were the solution was account protections. Can you pls explain the exact process and inputs for the account protections to get this EA to trade.

        Hi Anne,

The first thing you need to do is to make sure you have properly selected the parameters for the Prop Firm EA you want to download and trade.  The following chart shows you need to select the Account size of the prop firm challenge, then you need to select the Max Loss requirement of the prop firm, then the Max daily loss, the Profit target, the Risk, and finally the News filter option you want.

Then you need to download the EA and install it on a prop firm challenge that matches the account size selected.  For example, if you have started a 10K prop firm challenge, then you need to seleTct the $10,000 account in the Prop Firm Robot app.  If you select a $10,000 account in the Prop Firm Robot app and then install the EA in a prop firm challenge with a different account size the robot will not work until you adjust the account protections in the EA.

Then if you have properly installed the EA in metatrader and have either a smiley face of a blue hat in the upper right corner of the trading chart you should be all set up and the EAs should start trading.

Hello Anne. What i would do, is check first that autotrading is on, if the correct url is set in the expert options in metatrader, and if i get any errors in the experts tab or in the journal tab in metatrader. If all this checks out, and i have made sure that i have the correct EA for the correct pair for the correct TF, then i would check if any of the protection settings are on preventing the EA to open trades as it should for protecting the account. By default these are off to 0 for spread, max lot size and max orders open, and only the trading hours are auto calculated for each pair which means the EA wont open trades outside this timeframe. If all the above checks fail to correct the issue i would contact support with a few screenshots for furthert assistance. I hope this helps :-).

        Hi paul4x,

You can use the metatrader Strategy Tester to see if the EA is placing trades.  The results should give you an idea as to how often trades are placed.

        Hi Anne,

You will need to make some changes in the EA properties box.  Just let me know what the Max daily drawdown, Max loss, Price target is for the prop firm challenge, also what risk level you want to take and I can calculate the changes you need to make for your 130K challenge.

Hi, is there a reason why there are 2 of the prop firm EAs using the same magic number by default, the EURAUD M15 v6.0 EA and the AUDCHF M5 v6.1. It’s a bit confusing as it lumps their trades together when looking at the results on fxblue.

        Hi paul4x,

The EA is set up so as not to take any new trades 15 minutes before the market closes for the day.  New trades can then be taken after the market re-opens 15 minutes later.  This is done to avoid a new trade occurring 15 minutes before the market closes with super large spreads.  There are also large spreads right after the market re-opens, so I would change the number from 0 to 1 or 2 to avoid these large spreads.

Note: The number zero represents the beginning of the new trading day.  The number one represents one hour after the market opens for the day.

i have a successful installation on FTMO and other firms. but on chart it says EA is turned off and it removes itself also successfully from the chart. I changed lotsize and all other robot are working fine.

So a successful automatic removal of the EA from the chart is my experience with EA trading academy Robots.

        Hi Wolfgang,

If there is a smiley face in the upper right corner of the trading chart then you are good to go.  Just wait for new trades to develop.  To properly protect your FTMO account I would suggest the following:

In the Prop Firm Robot app look at the top left area of the screen where it says Account.  Select the account size you will be trading in the FTMO challenge.  Also select the correct Max loss, Max daily loss, Profit target,  Risk, and the news option.  After you make these selections then download the robots you want to trade.  So I would remove the robots you downloaded and re-download the correct ones.

      Hi @Alan

Yes I’m aware that I can change the magic number, that’s not the point. Why have the same default magic number for 2 different pairs when everything is tied to the magic number (the EA name, the filename, etc). Makes tracking the results very difficult. I’m continuously installing and moving the EAs around different accounts to test and see which are the better performers. Having to change the magic number every time I add it to a different account just adds one more thing to do that should be automatic.

Btw, is there a way to download all 14 EAs together? In the FTMO robots app I can only download the ones visible in each view (yearly, monthly, weekly, etc) but they don’t all appear together.

        Hi superalf,

The magic numbers are randomly generated.  As fate would have it, the random generator picked the same magic number for the same magic number for these two robots.  Change the magic number in the source code and re-compile.  Then when you move the robots around from account to account you won’t have to keep changing the magic numbers.

To download all 14 robots at the same time select Y5, select Add to zip, and then select All.

        Please advise on:

        1. How to properly apply risk diversification for the safest and most consistent results?

        2. What do the headers “D1″,”W1″,”M1” mean? Does it mean we would be applying the EAs accourning to the sufix timeframe (Ex: AUDCHF M5, on 5 min) and let them run for a day, a week etc accordingly?

        3. Any additional heads up/suggestion you have for me to pass the challenge using robots?

          Hi Calebfg256,

Answer 1:  Before you select a Prop Firm robot you need to make some choices to set up risk and profit target.  See image below.  You need to select the size of your challenge.  You need to select the Max loss, Max daily loss, and Profit target according to the requirements of your challenge.  Then you need to determine risk, Low risk, Medium risk, or High risk.  Then you need to decide if you want the robot to trade during news events so you need to select the New filter you wish to use.

Answer 2:  If you select robot EURUSD M15 for example, then you need to put it on a M15 chart.

Answer 3:  To pass a challenge, or to be a successful trader using a brokerage account with robots requires three things:  1.  A good robot.  The Prop firm robots are very good robots and have been backtested to show they can product profits.  2:  A trading strategy.  It is a well know fact in professional trading that all traders need to develop their own trading strategy.  What works for one trader does not often work for another.  If one strategy was to work for everyone, that trader could sell his strategy and we would all get rich.  However, it does not work like that.  The majority of traders end up losing their accounts.  So, my advise is to practice on a demo account until you figure out your strategy for trading.  The demo account could be with a forex broker or the prop firm FTMO has a demo account.  3. Risk diversification:  Professional traders never risk more than 2% or their account on any one trade or robot and they never risk more than 6% when trading multiple robots at one time.  Professional traders never put all their eggs in one basket.  So trade more than one robot so that if one robot is drawing down the other robots might be profiting offsetting the loss.

          Hope this helps!

I know how to trade but I didnt think we would be using a strategy with the bot and how would we go about using technical analysis with a bot I know how to use TA when I am manually trading using indicators support and resistance Price action etc but how does that work with a bot?

              Hey Derek,

You need to test the robots in demo first to see their performance and then set them in a challenge if you are happy and believe that they will perform well.

And with that, you do not need manual trading here, it’s all automatic once you set it.

              Kind Regards,

        Hi Superalf,

That pair did not trade last week.  However, it will continue to trade in the future.  I trade 10 different EAs in my Infinity Forex Fund challenge and in some weeks certain EAs do not trade for a week or two and then they start trading again.  So, this is normal.  Further, you may pick some robots that traded last week but one or two of them may not trade next week.  This is why it is a good idea to diversify.

      Hi Alan,

Maybe I’m not explaining myself correctly, let me rephrase. You said that Petko has reduced the FTMO robots to 12 pairs. In the Y5 page there are 12 pairs, so I’m guessing those are the 12. But if I drill down into the other time frames (weekly, daily, etc)  there are other pairs aside from the 12 that show up in the Y5 page. So my question is, which are the 12 official EAs that we should use and which are the ones that have been removed that we should stop trading? Is USDCAD M5 v.61 one of the ones to avoid (does not appear in Y5 page). There is also a AUDCHF M5 v6.1 EA which does not show up in the Y5 (but does in the W1). can you please clarify this?

        Hi superalf,

I use to be able to go to Y5 and see all 14 robots.  Why I cannot do that now is a mystery.  It may be that Petko is not testing the shorter term time frames back 5 years like he use to.  I am waiting for clarification from Petko.

While we wait I should also invoke some knowledge to you incase you are not aware.  The robots are back tested using BlackBull historical data.  You may not be aware that all brokers/prop firm historical data is somewhat different.   So for example, the top 3 robots in the Prop Firm robot app may not be the top 3 when trading the robots with FTMO.  So, when you chose the robots you want to use from the Prop firm robot app don’t expect them to be the same top performers in the FTMO challenge.

      Hi Alan,

Thanks for checking on that. Do let me know.

Right, I am aware that the backtesting is not done using FTMO and that the data and results can change from one broker to another, I have seen this myself. This is why I have been testing the robots myself on an FTMO demo account to determine which are performing better (following your approach with your EA Studio robots, great work there!)

      Hi Wolfgang,

The app is updated every hour and shows profits and losses. Here is the problem and some education for you.

The historical data your Expert Advisors use with your metatrader terminal is not the same for all brokers/prop firms. The reason is with the forex market there is not one single source where all the brokers get their historical data. So it is up to each broker to go out into the markets and get their own data. They do this by getting trading data from various banks around the world. Unfortunately, all banks / prop firms do not get their trading data from the same banks. As a result every brokers data will be somewhat different. So when you have a particular EA and you use it with different brokers you will get different results. So when EA on broker A is profiting the same EA on broker B could be losing, AND, when the EA on broker A is losing the same EA on broker B could be profiting. The problem is not the EA it is the historical data used by the brokers.

Knowing this, the app where you got the EA uses broker Blackbull for its historical data. The results shown in the app shows the performance of the EAs using Blackbull historical for educational purposes. You need to read the at the bottom of the app. While the EAs in the app show certain performance, because each brokers historical data is different, it does not mean the same EAs will be profitable at the same time with the broker / prop firm you are using. So how do we successfully use these EAs? Good question! Here is the answer: You need to test the EAs with your broker/prop firm. So how do we do this? Here is how I do it: I install all EAs I want to trade with the broker I plan on using and use a 0.01 lot size so the results do not significantly cause a drawdown. I then let the EAs run for one week, sometimes two weeks. I then review the results to determine which EAs are profitable with the broker/prop firm I am using. I will then chose these EAs to trade and change the lot size to represent the account risk I chose to accept. Currently I am testing 50 EAs I created with a new prop firm I plan to use. I always do this to reduce risk. This is all part of money management.

You can be successful using the EAs from the Prop Firm robots app or the Top 10 EA app, it just depends upon how you do it. Success comes from testing with is part of money management. Money management is necessary to run a home, a business, or in trading.

      Hope this helps!

The Problem with this strategy is I did the samething tested for 3 week-4 weeks saw which EA’s were profitable with the broker I am using and then added to the chart for my prop challenge. I was profitable for a week then in 1 week lost all my profits. New EAs come out everyday you add you test those by the time you test them and find winners new bots come out and even if you add after a succesful test they dont last more than a week or two and by then you already had a huge drawdown. So you are in a constant struggle of testing finding winners they work for a week you add new ones and those have a huge drawdown and wipe away all your gains from the week before. So you are in a loop of getting up then giving it all back then getting up then giving it all back.

Experience lesson: yesterdays gold super bullish move to a new high, besides eating away all my previous wins of the week, really was the proof and lesson I needed to understand how to better manage the FTMO Prop EA trading. See the SL/TP range is huge and by design that is to allow the XAU movement towards TP. However, as of yet the TP has never been hit, whereas SL sometimes and if not the open trade stays well within loss until it reverses to profit. Sometimes the EA will close the trade early and open opposite direction but not if it doesn’t get the required opposite signals. Now here is the breakdown for me: you shouldn’t allow the EA to go over 100$ in loss with XAU especially if you are running it on default protections with no spread/max lot/max open positions protections. If the EA has opened a wrong direction position, I would let it run up to 100$ loss and most likely close the trade and possibly open a new one manually to the opposite direction as this movement is a strong indication of the trend going the other far the other way and until it comes back that is usually the profit direction. I have noticed that if the pair is chopping there is no real danger as it will definitely return to the opening direction soon. But if the pair is trending and trending strongly, then it won’t come back anytime soon and I would need the opposite direction to match my losses and also gain some profits. So the way the EA trades when loosing at least with XAU, can be used as a strong confirmation to either hedge with an opposite direction manual trade so you can offset the loss to breakeven and even gain some profit while waiting for the reversal or if you want to play it safe simply close the wrong direction after 80$-90$ loss and open an opposite direction IF the chart is showing strong trend and high volume on that trend. The EA usually opens the correct direction but because the SL/TP for XAU is huge you should really be careful when the trade is not going the right way. This supposed to be a bearish move but turned out to be the most impressive bull trend I have seen the last couple weeks with any pair. Due to work commitments I wasn’t on my PC to make changes and caught this late on my mobile after the open loss was about 380-400$, so at that point I had to let it play out. But since it wasn’t coming back this morning and the SL was at about 500$ I closed the trade, as it was affecting all three of my challenges. Thankfully nothing else was open so this move didn’t activate my EP, however I think I ll pass todays trading as the losses counted on todays trading and if another one like this happens it could be an issue. Please note so far the EA has been very successful and was able to manage it correctly. But it needs monitoring like that as sometimes it will be very wrong although its calculations are correct but the market is not playing ball as it has a mind of its own and can go either way without notice.XAU wrong (real-live) bullish move 09/05/24

i too took a hit on this trade, on friday, loss of £700. I run this bot on my darwin account. So i have a lot aize of 0.19 open. Thing is it was in nice profit on thursday i think by £240 and hindsight says i should have banked the profit but i wanted to see the EA in action.

May have to adjust the TP in the set file going forward and take the small wins.

@paul4x yep that’s a good idea as well. Tbh the XAU pair seems the most active-profitable-low DD EA on the board so far. However due to its volatility can sometimes return more losses. So perhaps tightening the TP from 9000 to 5000-6000 would be a solution limiting the chances of a reversal as for the price to hit the default TP is a long distance and lots of things can happen to turn things around until it hits that TP. So if the XAU is more active, then yes a smaller TP that would most likely be hit more often would also be an excellent choice.

@paul4x i would also consider taking my trading pairs to about -50% SL/TP on a 1:2 ratio and possibly add a max spread limit about 15 points for forex and 30 points for xau.

      Hey Konstantinos,

Thank you for sharing your experience.

So, as you mentioned and correctly of course, the market can be very tricky at times and make an EA have losing periods which I believe it’s normal as nobody can really predict the market all the time.

I think the best is to lower the risk of each trade to about 1% or even 2% at most.

      Thank you!

      Kind Regards,
      Nikos

      Hi Embi,

As long as you see a smiley face or a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart and the EA and the chart time frames are the same then you have set up the EA correctly. These EAs mostly only trade one per day on average. So Since you just opened the EA on Friday I would expect you should see a trade on Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

i bought a new ftmo 10k account and wanted to try the robot, so I checked the top 2 performers in weekly and it was usdjpy and usdchf

Usdjpy was the best in the monthly, but when tested in the account usdchf was losing in both weekly and monthly, and usdjpy was in big profit like 4000 profit in the 10k account

i only applied the usdjpy yesterday and will update you with the account

So, from what I can understand, the issue could be with the pair suffix. An example of a suffix is like the following: USDJPY.i or USDJPYm. Of course these are just examples.

Please check if there is a different symbol with a suffix and see try to use that instead.

Let me know if that solves the issue!

      1Hello,

The forex market is open 24 hours a day during weekdays but closes on weekends. Because this market operates in multiple time zones, it can be accessed at any time except for the weekend break.

That being said, please check the Journal and Experts tab for any errors messages that might help to identify the problem and post some screenshots here so we can assist you if there are setup issues.

      Hi guys,
I wonder if you could tell me where I am going wrong please?
I am testing the prop firm robots on a demo account and am getting very different results to what you are showing.
Last week I used the USDJPY M15 #2013751115 and it said that it had 15 trades with a profit of $8 165.
It ran for the week and I made a loss of $4 408.
I went to choose the top 3 for this week and it shows 15 trades for the same pair with a profit of $6 176.
I was expecting it to show a higher number of trades and less profit.
All the other account settings were the same and I am looking at M1.
Would really appreciate your help as I need to be sure of the figures you are displaying.
      Much appreciated

I can understand how that would cause the amount to change slightly between brokers but not the number of trades and by such a large amount.

I am in the same boat using the top robots shown on weekly chart and literally every trade is a losing trade I have nearly blown nearly two accounts using the tope robots. It worked for  about two weeks with this strategy now today I checked and it shows on Weekly these are the top assets to trade according to the Prop Robot App: XAGUSD M15 #1637565497, EURJPY M15 #1446236375, XAGUSD M15 #57633752. Today for XAGUSD M15 #1637565497 I am down $-520. I looked on my trading history and it shows 4 of my trades all of them hit TP but all TP in a loss!! I set my parameters as follows its a $200k account 3% max daily loss and 8% ($16,000) Target. Total max loss is 8% ($16,000). The 4 trades that took a loss were tiny scalp trades with very close TP near the entry price and all ended in a loss!! The trades are as follows: ALL were .26 Lot size for XAGUSD. Trade 1. SELL ORDER Entry price = 30.9617  SL = 30.9984  TP=30.9818. LOSS of $25.61. Trade 2. SELL ORDER Entry price = 30.6667  SL = 30.6995  TP= 30.6829. LOSS of $19.11. Trade 3.  BUY ORDER Entry price = 30.6207  SL = 30.5879  TP = 30.6045. LOSS of $19.50. Trade 4. SELL ORDER Entry price = 30.6592  SL = 30.6920  TP = 30.6754. LOSS of $20.15.

        Hey Derek,

Each and every strategy differs and that is why you see different SL and TP values. But the performance can also depend on the broker or prop firm.

Why is the bot taking Profit in a loss EVERY SINGLE Time before my SL is even hit the bot changes the TP then takes a loss every time in a loss!!

Some of the strategies may have a trailing stop-loss. You can look in the Journal tab for messages stating something like “position modified”. If you see such, this means that the particular EA has Trailing SL. I see form your screenshot that you’re trading with XAGUSD only so you may try few other pairs at the same time, as it might be the market is not good for this pair at the moment. On our accounts we achieved the best results when trading with 3-5 EAs at the same time, picking the top performers from the weekly or monthly charts, and replacing them daily so everyday we can trade with the top performers for the desired period according to the app.

could this have to do with daily limit protections being activated.

      Hi Nikos

please see below the screenshot from the consistent problem ive had using EAs this week. im Still having it.

these were not Prop Firm EAs, so they did not have daily account protections. but consistently i kept on getting the message that entry orders were cancelled.

can you explain what causes this problem so i know how to deal with it in the future. are there any changes i can make in the inputs when i load the EA to mitigate this problem.

A few times i tried your suggestions to delete everything and redownload the EAs from scratch and start again. as you can imagine, its a tedious exercise.

please advise, im currently working with a small realistic demo account just to prepare myself for a live account and to get used to your EAs but this week has been concerning.

When things don’t go as planned, it can be annoying. Considering that the FTMO Robot is still relatively new, I’ve heard varying opinions regarding it. Although some traders have found success, it’s wise to move warily at all times. Make sure to give it a thorough look and think about utilizing a demo account initially. If someone has lately tried it, their opinions would be very helpful!

I want some honest help why is it that when I use the Prop Robots on a demo account to do forward testing and I use the exact same broker but the bot is trading completely differently? I opned these two demo accounts around the same time for testing I use the same prop robots with the same broker same MT5 through XM.com and they are trading COMPLETELY differently not just slightly but one is taking WAY WAY more trades and very profitable the other is taking only a couple trades and not very profitable and sometimes in a sizeable DD while the other account again same broker is very profitable. I am needing real help here you say do testing on demo I am doing testing on one these demo accouts not for just a couple weeks or 30 days but it never stops I test permanently and then depending on results the idea was to use the same broker and then whatever bots are showing profitable I then add to another demo again same broker and same bots and copy the trades to my prop account. The problem is how can I depend on the results if the same bot is doing completely different trades on the same broker? This has been my constant problem no matter if I do forwward testing with the same broker on a demo or depend on the prop robot app whenever I add those winning bots to my MT$ even if its the same broker I am doing the testing with the trades are always and I mean always different so basically I have no proper data to know if any robot I add to my chart will be profitable its always a gamble because no matter what tests or whether I use the prop robot app results will always be different and can put me in a big loss. I never know what will happen its literally a complete gamble. Every day every week I have no idea what robots will be profitable. So how do you do this its not as simple as just see the winning robots on the prop robot app and each day make sure you check andjadd the top 3-5 robots if it was this simple I would be in profit consistently! I have done this strategy and sometimes its profitable but not nearly the same results as the app is saying or the app says this robot is doing well but yet when I add it to my charts the trades are all losing and puts me in a deep DD. Please help there has to be more to all this!

      Hey Derek,

So, are you using the same account type for example, is it raw spreads on the one account and standard on the other or the same type?

What I would say here is to try a different broker. You can see the brokers we use and what has worked for us here: https://eatradingacademy.com/trusted-brokers/

Maybe the conditions of the broker is not the best.

Hi Nikos both Demo accounts are through Blackbull its the hedge account I created when I registered on blackbull Markets website I just clicked demo account and selected Demo 2 for the sever and plugged in the account number and password. Is there something else I should look at between these two demo accounts? I reached out to blackbull markets and contacted their support they looked into my demo accounts both are standard and they said the only reason the trades are different is because of something in the EAs settings that is different betweent the bots I am using on one account and the settings on the bot on the other demo account but I never adjust settings! So I need help on resolving this.

They also told me to contact the EA developer and ask if the bots are supposed to take identical trades becuase I took USDJPY for example I looked at the input setttings an both are identical on both black bull demo accounts so same bot and settings the same on both accounts is the way this bot designed is it meant to take different trades even if everything is the same same broker type same XM.com MT5 platform and same input settings is there something in the code that makes the bots trade differently?

Hey Nikos check this out I saved the logs  for trades made on 07/30/24 as this date I noticed many more trades for USDJPY on one account vs the other and much more profitable. I use chatgpt to analyse the logs and this is what chatgpt is saying between the two accounts that day.

It seems that both files are not being read correctly, possibly due to encoding issues or file formatting. I will attempt to read the raw content of the files to better understand their structure and find a suitable way to process them.
The files are encoded in a format that includes a byte order mark (BOM) indicating UTF-16 encoding, which is why there are issues reading them directly. I will reprocess these files using UTF-16 encoding to extract and analyze the data correctly.
Both logs appear to have a non-standard structure with columns that are not clearly named. The data contains technical information about the trading environment, but it seems the log messages are mixed with system and expert advisor details.

I will attempt to clean the data and isolate relevant entries related to trades on the USDJPY pair from both accounts to identify the discrepancies.
The filtered logs indicate entries related to trades on the USDJPY pair for both accounts. Here’s a summary of what was found:

565 Account: It has multiple entries for USDJPY trades including market sells and buys with specific volumes (e.g., 3.02 lots, 4.03 lots). These trades are detailed with timestamps and order acceptance confirmations.
363 Account: This log also contains entries for USDJPY trades, but it appears to have fewer trades compared to the 565 account. The volumes and timestamps are also different.
        Key Observations:
Trade Volumes: The 565 account has executed more trades with varying volumes compared to the 363 account.
Timestamps: The trades in the 565 account seem to have been executed at different times than those in the 363 account, which could indicate differences in the bot’s trading strategy execution or conditions met during the trades.
Trade Count: The 565 account has more recorded trades for USDJPY, which might explain its higher profitability on the given date.
        Possible Reasons for Discrepancies:
Different Trade Triggers: The bots may have different parameters or have encountered different market conditions, leading to a different number of trade executions.
Execution Environment: Differences in latency or execution speed due to the environment (e.g., VPS vs. local machine) might have affected the trade timing.
Configuration Differences: The bots might not have identical configurations, leading to discrepancies in trade behavior.
To further diagnose the issue, it would be useful to compare the specific configurations of both bots and consider any differences in their operating environments. If needed, I can help you analyze further based on more details.

I am still having issues with the bot I decided to increase my VPS slices and retest I went to Blackbull markets and reset both demos to $200k but on one of my accounts I see this loss protection is activated. So I dont know if this is a glitch or what?? my daily loss is $7800 My account was at $216k and has $16 in profit not sure why this $214,941 loss protection ( see highlighted) is activated did not reset the bots when I rest my balance back to 200k or something? PLease let me know ewhen you are available to look over the accounts. As there is still the issue of the accounts not trading the same

From what I know, most of the brokers have the Gold instrument named XAUUSD. I am not sure if there is a broker that has it named Gold.

      Hello,

I have been using the app for 1.5 months, and overall, the results are negative. I have regularly changed the robots, and the performance of your own funded accounts is also poor. What is the reason for this? Shouldn’t the top 3-5 performers reflect the current market conditions?

      Best regards

      Hello traders,

Before testing the Prop Firm Robots on a challenge or live account, first test them on demo. That way you can see how they perform and when you believe there is a good performance, you can just set them on a challenge or live account!

The ptobleme is not the challenge account. The probleme is your EAs are not good, i paid that 350 euros. You are making a software to backtest and to avoid testing. You’re EAs are bad. It trade any where, without a logic.

It was written that there is 30 days money back. I want to get my money back because the top 5 of your EAs does not work. And you should stop selling them

      Hey Mourad,

I understand what you are talking about but we and other traders, have passed challenges with our EAs so that means they actually aren’t bad but they are pretty much functional.

As I mentioned, you need to first test them in demo before setting them in a live account or challenge. That is because you need to see how they are working, get comfortable with them and then set them on live account.

If you check the following table, you will see that there are actually results: https://eatradingacademy.com/premium-robots/ftmo-robot/

You need to follow a strategy to get results!

Also, keep in mind that the market conditions also are not good at the moment and that can also cause losses.

      Kind Regards,
      Nikos

I cannot insert image in my post so refer to the 2 images I posted above
Note: I am still in negative of my challenge account,

The issue we encounter with the EA (August 15, 2024 at 18:38 post) is keep open losing trade.

while in the website (August 15, 2024 at 18:39 post) it show it is still profitability and requesting us to keep the EA (Cause it never hit the SL of the opened trade)

but once the opened trade hit the TP, it opened another trade quite instantly and it hit the SL, which reflect my account encounter.

      Proposal to dev team:
Can adjust the SL to above Open price once it become profitability, so it can open and close trade more frequently and it will reflect more accurately on the website instead of keeping the losing EA cause we might missed the golden opportunity to open that trade (8 Aug as showed above) but cause of keeping the EA it opened 3 losing trade.

      Hi Nikos

so Im a bit confused. you’ve said, “Before testing the Prop Firm Robots on a challenge or live account, first test them on demo. That way you can see how they perform and when you believe there is a good performance, you can just set them on a challenge or live account!”

you’ve also said that on a daily basis we must upload the latest top EAs to ensure we are trading with the best strategies.

so what happens if an EA we are testing on a demo is replaced by a new top one. and this happens almost daily, I check everyday. which one do we go for then.

is it the ones we are testing on our demo or the latest top ones on your app, which change daily.

      Regards

      T

        Hey Tsholo,

So, what I meant is that before you trade the robots on a challenge or live account, it’s always good to trade them on a demo so that you get used to them and also to be able to find a strategy that works for you to achieve results.

Also, if you see on the App, that there is a more profitable robot, this is the robot you need to import to Metatrader.

        Hope this helps!

        Kind Regards,

Since August 1st, I have been using EAs, but the performance has not been very successful. I am using low-risk EAs.

      I have installed (Prop Firm Robots) (USDJPY M15 #1599046594, EURJPY M15 #1606894234, XAGUSD M15 #1920575341)

These 3 EAs, starting from Monday, August 19th, with low risk settings. I hope to achieve a 5% profit after 2 weeks.

I have been running the exact same strategy since the 3rd on a 10 000 usd live account

I first ran it ne a demo and it worked well.

It seems they are working they are just slow and have a lot of draw down

Things I found that work well  is enable them after news on a Monday disable early on Friday

Disable them for any big news days

So coming to that strategy, and from past experience,

      • which top 3 or 5 set of EAs do you find most profitable (they win most times). is it the daily, weekly or monthly.
      • which give you bigger draw-downs ususally
      • and which give you the targeted profit for in shortest time ususally.

Please check the settings of the MT4 EA. There is a setting called Minimum Equity. If this is higher than the account balance, the EA will disable itself as a protection.

Hello, “authorization failed” is not a problem related to the robot. Usually this message appears when you’re entering wrong login credentials for your account. Or if could be that some prop firms don’t allow trading with robots on a trial/demo account. Can you say if the second is the issue or not?

Do you guys leave the default settings as is or do you tweak spread at all? I mean i leave the indicators as is and the all the entry and exit parameters  as well as i trust the EA developement and creation process. Hey All,

So this is my first week of trading with these Prop Bots. I am using the MT5 versions on a $10k FTMO Demo. So far this week the bots are down nearly $450 whilst:

      • EURJPY (1238246918) is down $500.
      • EURGBP (1582513645) is up $50
      • XAUUSD (1611800265) is up $36
      • USDJPY (1635766325) is down $200
      • BTCUSD (1838199896) is even
      • GBPUSD (255882763) is up $58

My question is, is it normal for these bots to have days in which they consistently lose money? Is there anything else which I can do to mitegate the losses? Or am I the only one which has had a poor week this week?

I understand I need to be patient with the bots however through this first week, the performance hasn’t lived up to the expectation: that these bots either cover the loses of each other or make money as is shown in the App.

For clarification all currency bots are running at 1% risk whilst XAU & BTC are running at 0.5% risk due to ensure enough margin is available to trade.

Hello, combining such diverse assets like crypto, forex, gold, or silver presents several unique challenges due to their differences in market behavior, risk dynamics, and operational requirements. Assets like crypto (e.g., BTCUSD) are highly volatile, with frequent large price swings, while forex pairs (e.g., USDJPY) are typically more stable. Gold and silver have their own volatility patterns, often responding to economic events like interest rate announcements. This variability in volatility can cause uneven performance across the portfolio, making risk management more complex. High volatility assets can skew results, potentially leading to increased drawdowns or unexpected losses. Another issue is that Forex operates within established market hours, and commodities like gold and silver have their most active periods during the London and New York sessions. In contrast, crypto trades 24/7, including weekends, with distinct liquidity patterns. These differences in trading hours can affect execution quality and cause unexpected volatility, especially when moving between market close and open periods.

From our experience with all the challenges where we participated, we never used such a diverse asset selection. We either stick to the forex pairs, or if we trade other assets as well we pick no more than 3 and use the same risk for each so we can identify which assets and EAs are performing well and which not.

That being said, when market is in downtrend, there is not much you can do but wait for a better time.

Hope this helps to evaluate the robots and your setup better.

Hi, without more context it’s difficult to say what happened. I suppose the account is closed and we can’t look into it in detail to understand the issue.

You might have global variables (under Tools > Global Variables) that affected the protections or if you were disconnected from the Internet (if trading on a local PC, or for some reason your VPS was disconnected) this would also prevent the EAs from working.

Without looking into the account, I can only guess.

      Hi,

there seems to be a major issue with prop firm robots.

I am backtesting on MT5, 2023 till today, Blackbull broker with spreads around 10.

Account 100k, Max Loss 8K, Daily Loss 4K, PT 10K

#1 BTCUSD generates a DD of more than 10%

#2 USDJPY doesn’t do anything. Icannot even do a backtest.

#3 BTCUSD wipes out completely after 4 months with a generated loss of 116k

I am wondering how those should work and since we paid a lot of money for it I would kindly ask for a support and feedback.

      Thanks

@dominikdorner, the EAs from the app open trades at the opening of the M15 bar so you should use the Open Prices Only for the backtest. Also when you run the backtest, check how much bars the broker offers for the asset you’re backtesting. Another thing to double-check is that the account size you’re backetsting on is the same there robots are created for – for example if you downloaded EAs for a $100k account, you should backtest them on such account.

My best aproach was to use the 3-5 best performing robots per Week (e.g. FX only).

This went really well for a couple of months and I also passed the first phases of prop firms.

Here’s the catch: Since 2 Weeks there are massive draw downs and almost no profits..

Is there anything broken with the app or just a bad month?

      Best,

      Sandor

No, nothing is changed in the generation process. The market is in huge downtrend lately and this might be the main reason why some assets don’t perform well at the moment.

      Hi Jia,

the “hat” icon in the top right corner is not blue, which indicates that you probably need to enable algo trading first.

Go to Tools -> Options -> Expert Advisors -> “Allow Algorithmic Trading”

Furthermore when you add the EA to the chart, also set the flag “Allow Algo Trading” in the popup window.

      Hope that helps!

      Hi Jia,

from your screenshot everything looks fine now!

The bots will open approx 1-2 trades per day, so please have a little patience… ;)

Thanks Sandor, indeed most of the EAs have a few trades per week. One can estimate that by looking at the count of trades on the 1W (weekly) charts and have a better understanding of what to expect.

Another way to debug any potential issues is by looking at the Experts and Journal tabs in the MetaTrader terminal where warning or error messages would point to any potential issues.

Good day so I started using these eas again and I am opening trades in my personal account but nothing is opening in my 10k challenge have the same bots on both accounts BTC had 2 out of 3 winning trades 1 USDJPY had a loss and the other one just opened and so far it is in profit. but I am wondering why my challenge isnt opening the same trades as my personal account?

@natedee you can’t expect equal trading in 2 different accounts, especially if one of them is demo and the other one is different (e.g. challenge). That’s because of the different quotes provided by every broker, and also they provide different quotes on demo and live accounts as well.

The next thing you should consider and double-check is if the prop firm offers the same leverage for the assets you’re trading on your demo account. For example with BTCUSD, The5ers offers 1:2 leverage for the asset, FTMO offers 1:3 on the standard account and 1:3 on the swing account, FundedNext offers 1:1 leverage and etc. If your demo account is with some regulated broker, for example BlackBull offers 1:100 leverage for BTCUSD at the moment. So the leverage can affect the trading – with low leverage the BTCUSD can’t open trades because there is not enough margin.

Some prop firms offer very low leverage for crypto, which makes trading these assets with robots impossible. For example with FundedNext, their leverage for crypto is 1:1 which makes it impossible for the crypto robots to open any positions as there isn’t any margin at all.

      Good day EA Trading academy

I have been using the Prop firm robots & the USDJPY & XAUUSD Top 10 robots app for a couple of months now.
I must say that I have not been impressed with the overall performance and that the performance does not align with what is being showcased on the website. I do understand that the Set files posted in the Prop app and the Top 10 App are merely backtests and these do not gaurentee future success but I have also taken into my own hands to actually backtest the sets I am using on my Eightcap Standard account. Eightcap has great spreads and is one of the industry leading brokers. The backtest results come out very different compared to what is being posted on your website. I am using all of the correct settings for the backtesting i.e. 15 min timeframe, open prices only and I back test for the same periods i.e. 1 month, 1 year, 5 years and the results still come out very different.

I would just like to know if anyone (Besides Petko) has had any success with the Prop Robots or Top 10 robots. Has anyone been seeing consistent profits and growth, has anyone actually passed phases of prop challenges and gotten funded with some payouts? I have been part of EA Trading academy for more than 1 year and I am yet to see this from anyone else besides Petko.

A detailed response and some advice/guidance would be a greatly appreciated.

      Thank you

Same nothing but losses and blown accounts. Had them for well over a year and they’ve never worked. Tried them on FTMO, 5ers and another one I car remember all multiple times. One 5ers account passes when silver was flying only to blow the funded account the next week. The results on YouTube are definitely not what really happens.

I think we deserve to see some testimonials from actual EA Trading academy customers instead of only seeing video’s of Petko passing.

I have spent a large amount of money and an even larger amount of my time (which is far more valuable than money) with EA Trading academy. I would prefer to know if I am wasting my time on all of this so I can move onto something bigger and better.

I do feel it is the responsibility of the support team to answer these kinds of questions and give some guidance as we are their customers.

Perhaps a live stream with Petko & support is a good option so we can ask relevant questions etc.

      Hi Richard / Guys!,

I am a successful trader using EA’s I created using EA Studio.  You might consider following how I use EA’s successfully.  Click here!  You can use the same method with Prop Firm robots or the Top 10 robots.  The problem is not the EA’s, it is how you are using them.  Fifty percent of all the EA’s I create are losers.  The secret is for me to find the ones that are profitable.  To do this I create a demo account with the SAME broker/Prop Firm I plan on using and put all my EA’s into it.  I then let the EA’s trade for one month in the demo account.  I then filter the demo account using FXblue.com to find the top performing three or four EA’s.  I then trade these EA’s.

        Hi Alan,

        thanks for the info.

So, you are saying, if someone already bought Prop firm robots, have to buy again EA Studio, spend a lot of time, testing on demos and then ..maybe…then, have some success? (isn’t that supposed to be ready-solution, so not to spend a lot of time…) How this sound logical? I mean, spending money on “supposedly” working bots…to see they are not working and buy again something else…non-logical.

        Thanks anyway.

          Hi Angel,

No I am not suggesting buying EA Studio.  What I am saying is I use EA Studio to create my EA’s.  You do not need to create EA’s if you already have EA’s from the Prop Firm app.  What you are missing is that the Prop Firm robots were created using BlackBull historical data.   When using other data sources other than BlackBull the EA’s will perform differently.  To have direct success with the Prop Firm robots it is necessary to use prop firms that are compatible with the BlackBull historical data.  It looks like Petko is having success using FTMO and the 5ers and maybe one or two others.  But if you are using other prop firms or brokers you might not have success with the top performing Prop Firm robots.  So how do you determine which prop firm EAs to use if your prop firm / brokers historical data is not compatible with BlackBull?  The way I have found to determine the best performing prop firm EAs with the broker / prop firm I intend to use is to test the prop firm robots myself.

The prop firm robots are not the problem, the problem is the way you are using them.  I have simply offered a solution.  It will take you some time to discover which robots work best with the broker/prop firm you want to use but the results will be worth it.  Again you can follow my methodology and you will most likely have success.  Again, since you already have prop firm robot EAs you do not need to create them with EA Studio or use EA Studio in any way.

Follow my methodology shown in the above link using the robots from the prop firm app or the top 10 app instead of creating EAs with EA Studio and you should have success.

When following my methodology my account has gained 10.5% in 21 days which is good enough to have passed a prop firm challenge.  What I am going to do after one more week of trading in the demo account is to start using my demo account to copy trade to a prop firm account.

Learning to trade successfully is not a sprint, it is a marathon!

      Good day Alan

      Thank you for the feedback.
      Much appreciated.

So I am using a combination of the top performing Prop firm EA’s which I have selected based on monthly, yearly and 5 year cross checks. I have specific criteria that I am looking for when selecting the EA’s I am using. I am also using some of the Top 10 USDJPY robots and XAUUSD robots with a similar selection criteria to the Prop robots. So ultimately I am trading the Prop EA and Top 10 Robots App on 1 Eightcap Standard account. This Eightcap standard Demo is my Master account and I am using Social Trader Tools to copy to 2 x Darwinex Zero accounts at the moment.

Some of the Top 10 robots I am using actually look much better than the Prop EA’s I am using but they don’t seem to be performing as well as they indicate. I am using a fairly large number of robots on the account. The bot’s have been setup for 0.25% risk and not 0.5 % or 1% risk. This is so the robots can hedge one another and that will hopefully mean that the drawdown limits will be kept low. This has been the case, the drawdown has been nice and low but the robots have really not been performing well and the account balance has been dropping conistently over the last 3 weeks.

This is why I am reaching out though. To get some guidance and to hopefully see what is/isn’t working for others.

Are you only using the Prop Robots and not the Top 10 robots. Based on the results on the EA Trading academy website it also looks like the Top 10 EA’s are performing very well and this is also why I have included them in the master account.

      Hope this all makes sense.

        Hi Richard,

Sounds like you have found a methodology that works great for you.  Congratulations!  The only thing I can suggest is that you might look at the EAs in your account and purge out the ones that are not performing well.  Then maybe replace these EAs with better performing EA’s in prop firm and top 10 apps.  I do this with my accounts once a week.  The other thing you could do is to create a demo account and put all the prop firm and top 10 robots in it and let it trade for at least one month and then start selecting the EAs from it instead of from the prop firm and top 10 apps.  In my demo account, which I call my pool of EAs, is to the 5 year performance of my EAs.  Then when I select EAs from this pool once a week I use the last one month performance.

      Hi Richard, Hi Alan,

thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts and strategies!

I have been using the Prop Firm Robots App for 3 months now. For the first 2 months I saw steady wins (of course with some losses in between) with around 3-5% of gain per month on medium risk. I used the top 3-5 weekly or monthly performers and switched them once a week.

I then switched my strategy, using the top 3-5 performers per week and changed them on a daily basis and that gave me a huge boots and I passed FTMO and 5%ers first phases in 2 weeks.

Unfortunately since 2-3 weeks nothing goes right. I almost lost my accounts and just saw losses with my strategy. I also created a couple of posts here, complaining about the overall performance – and so did others.

I am very aware about the fact that we are using bots based on historical data and that some strategies work better in some market phases and some work worse. Nevertheless I have the feeling that in the current market phases nothing worked for me.

Also one of the Admins (@marinski) posted a FX Blue link, showing the top 3 FX performers on a monthly basis and the resulsts were absolutly NOT convincing: https://www.fxblue.com/users/top3fxpairson1m

I am currently putting the risk down to 0.25% – 0.5% and trying to survive this phase, hoping for the bots to perform better in the future. Actually I am quiet coninced that the ideas in general work..

      Hi Sandor,

I like the idea of you switching out the robots once a week as this should help to minimize drawdowns, at least in theory.  However, once in a while you will still suffer drawdowns as you experienced.  For this reason it is a good idea to keep risk under control.  So, again I liked the idea you reduced risk after having undergone a large drawdown.  In the future I would suggest keeping risk low.  To keep risk low when you first place the robots in MetaTrader look at the drawdowns for the EAs in the Prop Firm or Top 10 app for each robot you plan to trade and make sure their total drawdowns to not exceed the loss limit you are willing to accept.  If total drawdown is greater than the loss limit you can accept adjust the lot size.  Good job!

Hey Richard, the EAs from the Prop Firm Robots App/Top 10 Robots App/EA Studio all trade at the opening of the bar so for the backtest you should use the “Open Prices Only” model like it’s shown below. You can adopt your leverage and account size as per your needs but for the purpose of this post, I used the below settings which are the default in my accounts. Also I ran the backtest for the last 5 years because this is the maximum period that we can see in the apps so this will make the comparison more reliable.

So I performed several tests to show the results of a random strategy from one of the apps. For the tests I picked the below strategy from the Prop app, and I downloaded it for a $10,000 account size.

      <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Prop Firm Robots app 5Y stats</span>

      <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Expert Advisor Studio 5Y backtest (EightCap)</span>

      <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Expert Advisor Studio 5Y backtest (BlackBull)</span>

      <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Expert Advisor Studio 5Y backtest (Darwinex)</span>

<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>MetaTrader 5 Backtest on EightCap</span> (beacuase of the wider image the balance chart looks more flawless but you can obviously see the drawdown at the beginning similar to what you see in EA Studio’s backtests)

      <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>MetaTrader 5 Backtest on BlackBull</span>

As you can see from all backtests, with the proper settings, the strategies show very similar performance. The difference comes from the count of trades that is different with different brokers because they use different liquidity providers and have different quotes and commissions and spreads.

Thanks to Alan and Sandor for sharing their strategies and systems. It’s always nice to see how different users are using the robots from the apps as the way we use them is our own system but it doesn’t mean that this is the only way to manage the robots.

The system we follow with the robots from the apps is shown in every video and on the challenges or live accounts pages, but I’ll write it here once again to have more context for future readers of this thread. We start by picking 3 to 5 EAs and trading them on our accounts. We keep an eye on how well these EAs are performing both in the app and in our trading accounts by tracking their magic numbers. If we notice that one of our EAs is no longer among the top 3 performers in the app, we swap it out for a new top performer to keep our trading strategy effective. This way, we always use the best-performing EAs. We check the EAs performance daily and the highest success we had by picking the top performing EAs from the monthly or yearly charts. We see ups and downs in the accounts and this is quite expected as market is not a straight line and the strategies also show losing trades in the backtests and on the apps charts as well. It’s normal to have such periods in trading.

There is also one other thing which can have impact on the actual performance compared to the backtest and this is valid for absolutely every EA out there. To understand the differences between backtest results in the app and actual performance, it’s important to consider the role of order flow in live trading. Backtests use historical data to simulate market conditions, but they don’t account for real-time factors like order flow and market liquidity, which impact actual trade execution. In a live trading environment, other traders’ orders affect price movements and can lead to slippage (difference between expected and actual trade prices). These factors often cause discrepancies between backtests and live trading results, especially in fast-moving markets or with larger positions. So, while backtests are a useful tool for evaluating a strategy, actual performance will inevitably differ due to these dynamic market influences. You can expect a similar performance but it won’t be the same as the backtest (that’s applicable to the MetaTrader strategy tester as well).

Still, until we find a better system to manage the EAs for ourselves, we will keep using the system that works well for us at the moment and we have plenty of live accounts and passed challenges so far that prove for us that the system it’s working. I know a lot of users who have success with our robots because they write to us via email but when we ask them to share this publicly in the forum, many refuse because they prefer to have some privacy. You all know that many people use VPNs, fake/hidden emails, proton emails and etc. to hide themselves, and I can assure you from my experience in the Academy, that in trading the number of such people is very high.

Kudos to Alan and Sandor who shared their success, I know other users who passed challenges and have great performance with our robots. Recently we launched a reward program for the Prop Firm Robots App users to reward their performance and stimulate them to share their experience and by the end of the year we will do a similar thing for the users of the Top 10 Robots app as well.

Hi @kenheung05gmail-com, this means that the protections have been activated. If you’re on a brand new account, then you’re using EAs which are not created for the account size you’re using them. If it’s an account that has been active for a while and the balance is not the starting balance, you can use the custom export option to adopt the robots to this account size. I have explained this in depth here, please take a look.

Hi, I see you’re trading the EAs on a 60k account and you’re using the 50k EAs. This is causing your issues. Please use the custom settings to configure the robots for $60k account.

      Hi James,

The question you asked at the beginning of this thread was “I have been running the robot for 4 days now and it hasn’t trade even once. Anything I missed?”. You then showed AUDCHF.pi – 1 sell & 1 buy @ m5 -$750 since January 1.2024.

I used the MT4 Strategy Tester on an FTMO Challenge to test AUDCHF V6.1 M5. It shows 16 trades over the last 30 days or about 1 trade every other day and a profit $784.49. So it looks like there is an issue using your broker. You can verify my results by testing the AUDCHF Expert Advisor on a FREE FTMO demo account.
