So after a great start in the challenge the EA studio totally failed for me in the verification stage losing every single, last, trade. Maybe you just get what you pay for so I’m moving on and looking at the FTMO Robot. I know it’s new, but can anybody report any success with it especially over the last mouth?
-
July 17, 2023 at 13:10 #183693AnonymousInactive
Hey David,
Please make it more transparent what you mean by ”EA Studio failed”. EA Studio is not an EA but a tool we use to create and automate EAs. Do you mean you generated EAs using EA Studio and you put them on a challenge?
The robot performs smoothly and now when FTMO removes the 30-day period for the challenge it gets even easier to pass with it because we are not limited in time.

Hallo,
I have the following questions about the FTMO
ROBOT.can I scale and for 20,000 then increase the lots to 0.6?
can I probably transfer the robot to other prop companies?
Thanks,
-
July 17, 2023 at 19:53 #183852AnonymousInactive
Thomas,
Yes, you can scale it up!
What I know about using a common EA on various brokers is that the results will not be the same. Some brokers might show greater stagnation, drawdown, and or overall profit than other brokers. So beware of these possibilities!

Hey traders,
I have updated the FTMO Robot on our website. This is the latest version, Version 3.
- How is this Robot different to the previous version?
- It trades on the M1 Chart using the Envelopes
- There is a Higher Time Frame filter (MACD on M15)
- Option to add to the position
- Spread & Account protections
I have recorded a detailed video explaining How the Robot Works.

Hi Petko,
Is the FTMO robot the same one included in your FTMO course? Or do I have to purchase it separately?
-

Great work Petko!! When will the new FTMO robot be uploaded to the Udemy course?

July 29, 2023 at 16:47 #186905AnonymousInactive
Hey Jean,
Glad to hear from you.
The course will be updated with the EA in the very near future. I just recorded a few more videos showing how I pass the 200k challenge and it will take some time for my team to edit the videos.

Hey Petko,
I hope you are doing well.
I purchased the FTMO Robot yesterday, I am trying to back-test the robot on metatrader5 on a 10k challenge. Looks like is not opening any trades on the back-testing, I am pretty sure the reasons are the wrong settings/inputs, i had to modify them since your video is showing the settings for a 200k challenge :) can you please help me?
Thanks for your amazing job, i like your videos and effort.

July 31, 2023 at 15:58 #187460AnonymousInactive
Hey Patrick,
You do not see any trades because the default lot size is huge for a 10k account. Try to lower it to 0.1 and the max position to 0.3 and see if there will be trades.
Also, make sure to use Control Points as a backtesting model.

Hey Vincenzo,
I think it is the same issue. Please, lower the lot size and try again.
Also, yesterday was the weekend and the FTMO server closed on Friday with a spread > 10 pips.
In the EA there is a Spread FIlter Protection set to 3 pips, so make sure not to use the Current spread but 2 pips for example.
-
July 31, 2023 at 19:00 #187485AnonymousInactive
dear petko,
I tried modifying the spread and the values as you recommended (I attach screenshot of the settings), but the problem remains (I attach screenshot of the error). I need to solve otherwise this EA is unusable. What can I do?-
July 31, 2023 at 19:01 #187516AnonymousInactive
Have you tried this solution as I suggested earlier?: https://forexsb.com/forum/topic/7505/error-invalid-order-filling-type/
Try using MT4 instead of MT5. I am thinking MT4 does not have this issue.

1) what setting do you recommend to pass FTMO 100k ?
2) The EA doesn’t has any high new protección right? What do you recommend?
3) I work with a profirm that doesn’t accept Martingale How I can setup the EA non martingale?
4) how I do backtesting I tried I didn’t work
-
July 31, 2023 at 16:03 #187464AnonymousInactive
Hey Jose,
Glad to hear from you.
1. I would use 3 lots so if the EA hits the SL it would be below 1%.
2. What do you mean by ”high new”?
3. The EA does not use martingale: it adds to the position if there is a new signal. However, if you want to avoid the adding just set the entry to 3 lots and max position to 3 lots, so it won’t add on the same directional signal.
4. Abour the backtesting make sure to use a smaller lot and spread of 2-3 pips (not the weekend one)

No Trades… nothing.

August 1, 2023 at 15:21 #187634AnonymousInactive
I May have found the issue, I did not have any data to back test.
I still do not understand the setting very well and would like to understand more.
Is it possible to see the Envelopes and other things on my TM4 as indicators?
-
August 1, 2023 at 15:35 #187697AnonymousInactive
Hi Kevin,
When doing the backtest on MT4 you have to set up the Strategy Tester correctly. This video will walk you through the process.
As for the FTMO settings, what questions do you have?
The Envelopes can be added to the MT4 chart. You can find the indicators in the list of indicators on MT4.

my main question for this bot is scaling for risk or account size. He mentions 200k account in the video. What would be the best settings for a 100k account, or a 50k account.
-

For smaller accounts scale Entry Lot Size, Max Lot size, Amt to Add on lot size, Stop loss, and Take profit proportionally.

August 2, 2023 at 10:11 #187902AnonymousInactive
Hello Ramis,
The FTMO Robot will open trades when the price hits the Envelopes and there is confirmation from the MACD. The EA is not designed to trade frequently but to take strong reversal signals.
If you do not see trades for a few days, check out the journal for any errors. Also, make sure you keep your laptop/PC connected to the internet all the time, and the MetaTrader connected to the FTMO Server.
I like the word ”dead” for EA :)

August 2, 2023 at 10:19 #187906AnonymousInactive
Hey Lee,
Check my answer above.
The general expectation is to have a very active EA because these are the type of EAS people buy from the market. Usually, such EAs use martingale to recover the losing trades but those are not suitable for Prop Firms.

Hello Petko, can you consider adding a delay to this EA so it can help with being slightly different from other traders?
I’m running this on a few different accounts with different settings but they all opened their positions at the same time.
An option to delay the open order from 1 to 10 seconds in the inputs would be helpful in reducing the risk of being flagged by a prop firm for opening a position at the same time as too many other people and will also help make our trades unique.

The following is from a demo account on trading.com using the MT5 Strategy Tester. I can’t use the FTMO demo account right now because I have a 10K demo account with FTMO currently running using MT4. The first chart shows the dates when trades were taken. Notice that it does not take trades every day. The last trade was taken on 8/16. The second chart shows the profit so far this month. The account started the month of August with $200,000. Chart shows profit of $6771.06 so far for the month.
I would expect the FTMO robot to take another trade within the next day or two. Patience!
I would suggest you do a similar backtest to make sure everything is working correctly. The following are the settings I used:-

August 18, 2023 at 17:45 #192156AnonymousInactive
Thanks for answering me. But the question is, in which do you run the ea, mt4 or mt5 for FTMO account? Because in MT4 when you open the folder to put the EA it only gives the option to put the MT5 version, I don’t know if that will be a problem. Why does it have to do with the type of Hedge or Netting account, right?
Well let’s see if someone can clarify it for me so that I can get it ready to launch operations.
Thank you.

August 18, 2023 at 17:47 #192165AnonymousInactive
If you are using MT4 then you need to use EURUSD M1 FTMO Filter M30.mq4.
If you are using MT5 then you need to use EURUSD M1 FTMO Filter M30.mq5 (EURUSD M1 FTMO Filter M30).

I was getting the same error in MT5 on demo account and strategy tester:
Press F4 (to get to MetaEditor), go to Search – find in files:
Find what: return ((ENUM_ORDER_TYPE_FILLING)OrderGetInteger(ORDER_TYPE_FILLING));
Replace with: return (ORDER_FILLING_IOC);
Press Replace in FilesNow compile all AE that you needed to change and restart MT5.

August 30, 2023 at 22:05 #194905AnonymousInactive
Looks like you are trying to close a position that has already been closed. Remove EA from chart. Close MetaTrader and reload. Add EA back to chart. This should give you a fresh restart.

Should be good to go as long as lot size is adjusted properly so you don’t go over the margin limit and you don’t have more than 100 EAs!

Hi Everybody,
So, since I started using the FTMO Robot V5, my MT5 freezes every time. I have tried everything: closed all, reinstalled everything, checked my internet, and now I even paid for a VPS to let them run. However, my MT5 still freezes. Interestingly, it’s not my MacBook; this thing still works. I already tested the same on MT4, and there’s no issue. I contacted the MQL5 support, but they can’t help me. Do you guys have experience with this or know how to solve this problem? I can’t close MT5 every 5 minutes, and it’s also really slow since I installed the robot.
Thanks for Help! :D

Hello All
I want to just double check, the MT4 and MT5 EA’s are exactly the same right? Even though I am running my FTMO screening test on MT5 I can use the best pair on MT4 with the MT4 EA?
Also, how long do we run the FTMO test phase for ideally? I have seen a few different mentions, like a week, 2 weeks, before we take the best one and enable it on our live account.
Lastly, what is the best approach, from experienced users that has passed their evaluations, do I use just the one best EA with set lot size, or do I use the top 2 or top 3 with split lot sizes?
Thanks!

November 16, 2023 at 12:54 #213459AnonymousInactive
Hi Nicholas,
Answer to question 1) The EA’s are the same. They are coded differently as MT4 and MT5 have different languages. So yes you can use MT5 for testing and then MT4 for live trading. However, be aware of one thing: If MT5 is on a different broker or different prop firm than MT4 then there could be some difference as each broker or prop firm will have somewhat different histortical data.
Answer to question 2) One week or two weeks is not sufficient backtest to see how the EA will perform over the long term as during such short periods of time the market could be trending without any significant retrace or drawdown. During longer periods of time such as one month or longer then the market is more likely to have some small retraces and even a drawdown. If you are going to run your EA for a month or longer than you want to know how it will perform during retraces or drawdown. So it is recommended if you are going to run an EA for a month or longer that you at least backtest it for one month.
Answer to question 3) There is no right or wrong answer to this question. I have used the best 1 to 3 EAs and have found that the 10 EAs they were selected from actually performed better than the few I selected. Then again I have had the opposite occur. The one nice thing about running all the EA’s is that they will compensate for each other. What I mean by that is when one or two EAs are going through a drawdown the others most likely could be profiting, this helps to minimize drawdowns. So, since it is difficult to decide to run 1 to 3 EAs or the whole lot, what I do when I want to have more than a 1% account risk I will then run all the EA’s to minimize drawdown. If I just run 1 to 3 EAs then I keep my account risk to 1% because the drawdowns will most likely be greater. So, running the whole lot with a 2% risk also helps to increase profit. So running the whole lot helps to keep drawdown to a minimum while at the same time increases the chance of greater profit.
Hope this helps!
Alan,

Hey Alan
Thanks for your response.
On question 2, I may not be clear in my question. So according to Petko, we must run the EA’s on a test account on FTMO before we use the best-performing ones to pass the account challenge. I would like to know if the 2 weeks we run the test enough. We then take the top 3 and add them to our live account, is this correct?
I will keep in mind of course that if I run 3 or more, which makes sense to me, but then adjust to compensate for no more than 1% risk over all three. I would assume I adjust the lot size? So if I then take my top three EA’s over the two week test period, for a 10K account, then the lot size for 1 EA is 0.05 – I would then divide 0.05 by three and use that lot size on each EA. Am I correct in this Alan?
I am planning on only running on FTMO live account s only.
I do have all EA’s running on a different broker demo account just to have a continuous updated best performance on the EA’s.
Still learning…relatively new to trading, been a heck of a journey this far though. As the saying goes, trading is simple, but definitely not easy.
Thanks again.

Hi Petko, thank you very much for your response. I’ve been using my MacBook for about a year, and I’ve been trading on the FTMO Broker account for approximately 2 months now. So far, it has been working without any issues. Could I have possibly made a mistake during the installation? The robots are running on my VPS, and 7 out of 8 have already opened trades, so I believe everything should be running correctly. I’ve also explained the issue to MQL5 support, and they believe it’s not on their end.
-
November 21, 2023 at 11:25 #214876AnonymousInactive
Hey Nicholas,
I don’t really depend on the time period as one or two weeks. Sometimes, there will be more or less trades opened.
But two weeks is enough to check the recent top performers. Then you need to keep in the challenge only the top performers.
Regarding the risk. The set files are for the testing account and if you trade the EAs individually.
If you decide to put more than 1 EA on a challenge, you better lower the risk.

I have had the FTMO robot on my MT5 for 2 weeks and it has still not made any trade:
– The settings is on the M15
– The algo trading is on
– The only thing i have changed is the take profit (i have only changed it with 10 pips, so if the take profit on the default set files was 60, i have changed it to 50)
– It is running on a VPS
– The broker i have is ACG markets, live 10k accountDo anybody know what i should do to get it going so i can pass the challenge soon.
Thank you.

Hi Ghiath,
If you run a backtest, do you see trades that would have opened? It sounds like all your settings are correct, and trades should be opening. I’d suggest running the backtest, saving the results and asking the broker why trades have not executed, when clearly, the backtest shows that they should have. Also, check your journal for any errors. Could be a connectivity issue with the broker’s sever.
Cheers,
Ilan

Hello,
did you make sure you didn’t copy the “set files” instead of the actual EA files?

Hi G.C.,
MT5 does not work like MT4. With MT5 you need to open the MT5 Editor by clicking in the IDE button in the MT5 tool bar. Then you need to click on one of the EAs to open it. Then you need to click on Compile. The EA will now show up in the Navigator. Now do this for each EA.

All my EA’s have got the same magic number. When I change them as I did with the older versions they do not keep the new number. What should I be doing to change the numbers?

To change the magic number open the EA properties box and scroll down to the magic number to change it.

Hello, can someone step by step show me this
”Increase/Decrease the Envelopes Parameters , MA Period or Deviation % slightly. If you increase or decrease Deviation with 0.01, you will see different entries, exits, but similar results; the entries will be unique:”
step by step how to do this?

The EAs are optimized for best performance with the indicator settings as is. I don’t change them!
Alan,
-
November 27, 2023 at 19:58 #216488AnonymousInactive
But if you dont change them, how do u make the trades unique ? if its not unique how does prop allows these to work? they would be rejecting/ban acc if everyones entry is same using same parameters of default settings.
-
November 27, 2023 at 20:45 #216496AnonymousInactive
As long as there are less than 2000 identical orders placed per day there is no problem. Even if there are more than 2000 identical orders placed per day they will email you and ask you to make a change. If you insist on making your trade unique change the lot size slightly instead of the indicator settings.
Note: I use the standard settings and have never had an issue with it.

my robot is not working and it has been three since i purchased it and it has not taken any trades. does it work only on VPN?
-
December 12, 2023 at 10:50 #220312AnonymousInactive
EA’s should ideally run on a VPS (not a VPN, but a VPS). This is to prevent having issues due to power or internet outages in your home.
However, you should still be able to run the robot on your PC.
When you say it is not working, what exactly do you mean? What are you seeing?
-
December 12, 2023 at 13:24 #220327AnonymousInactive
Hi Jaun I appreciate your answer. what I meant was that it has been three days and it has not taken any trades I am not sure of what could be the reason but i did everything that was instructed on the video but it does not take any trades.
-
-
December 12, 2023 at 13:57 #220332AnonymousInactive
Hi Milward,
Yes the robot will work on your pc. If you are using MT4 and there is a smiley face in the upper right corner of the chart then the robot is installed properly. If you are using MT5 and there is a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart then the robot is installed properly.
If the robots were not installed properly you need to remove the robot. Make sure the Autotrading or Algotrading button is depressed and then install the robot.
If the robot is installed properly then you will need to give it more time for a trade to develop. Since you have been waiting for three days now I would expect a trade to develop anytime now.
If none of these solves your problem please let me know!

why is my ftmo robot opening hedging positions in one pair? buy and sell with the same pair at the same position?
-
December 20, 2023 at 6:34 #221599AnonymousInactive
Hi Tanyeem,
MT4 will use hedging if your broker allows hedging. MT5 can be setup for hedging or netting when it is installed. There is an option to select netting. You can ask your broker to switch your account to netting.

Thanks Alan, how can it be possible as I have not started trading at all on $10k Demo acc, equity is still full on as $10k, what is it protecting
-
January 2, 2024 at 14:16 #224047AnonymousInactive
The Minimum equity protection is protecting your account balance of $10,000. So it is keeping your account from trading as trading could result in a loss which would then cause your account to fall below $10,000. To get this EA to start trading it is necessary to reduce the Minimum equity protection level. For example, reducing it to $9100 would keep your account from drawing down more than 10%.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the reply again. I have not touched any settings of EA provided and just placed them on the chart as others. I do not understand that why the settings for only this one – GBP AUD M15 are not correct in the set file that I use for $10k account. In fact, the set file provided has these settings below which doesn’t make sense for $10k. Where can I get the default settings from ? Can I simply match the setting from another Robot – e.g. EURUSD M15? Or rather reach out to support to provide me that. I am not in the stage where I would want to tweak it as per my own knowledge but rather trade with the one that Petko has decided for $10k account.
-
January 2, 2024 at 15:07 #224062AnonymousInactive
Hi Sammy,
The FTMO V5.1 robot setfiles for a 10K account are correct but they are different from the image you have provided. Somehow, you did not load the correct setfile. You should have been sent an email with a link for the correct setfiles and robots. If you do not have these setfiles you will need to contract [email protected] .
Also, you cannot just use setfiles for other EAs as the settings will not be correct.
Alan,
-
January 2, 2024 at 15:36 #224065AnonymousInactive
Thanks Alan, my thoughts were same that I haven’t started trading and it was taken off the EA.
I have now asked the support to provide me the correct setfiles of that pair. The irony is that, any users who are downloading the robots and those setfiles, they will all have this error as I have now verified that the above settings in the screenshot is the setfile provided in that zip file.
Now, its the waiting game of when the support will come back to me. I might get my account connect to FXBlue meanwhile.
-

Hi Sammy,
After you get the setfile and load it into the EA show a screenshot and I will verify it is the correct file.

Hi Alan
Have you seen the new video of Peko followed by emails to member. I got the access of FTMO Robot App website now. I suppose I can simply fill the desired values there and download the new setfiles in a zip folder.
-
January 3, 2024 at 15:21 #224292AnonymousInactive
In fact, set files are not needed anymore if you use FTMO Robot App website. Now the question is that when I generate my new EA, what shall I do with already opened trades from the older version of EA before I remove the older EA and inject these new EA.
-
January 3, 2024 at 15:42 #224299AnonymousInactive
Hi Sammy,
Yes, if you are going to use FTMO robots v6.0 you no longer need to load the set files.
As to whether or not to close open trades, that is a personal decision. Maybe, leave the robots that are in profit continue to trade and let them hit their TP, and close out the losing trades, as an example of how to handle this situation.

Good day FTMO Robot Team
I trust you are doing well
I purchased the FTMO robot earlier today.
It has just opened it’s first positions on my 100k FTMO Demo account.
I am trialing the robot on Demo before I add it to a live account.
AUD/USD & USD/CAD opened positions today but I noticed that 2 of the same positions were opened on each of these pairs.
Is this normal or is there perhaps a setting that I need to change? My Demo account is also connected to a VPS.
Thanks in advance.

How many tabs are open on your meta trader? (with the FTMO robot activated)
-
January 24, 2024 at 19:11 #229393AnonymousInactive
I only have 1 tab open for each pair.
I have traded EA’s in the past and have never had this problem so I assumed 2 positions were just opened on each pair due to the EA.
2 positions opened on USDCAD at the exact same price & 2 positions opened on AUDUSD at the exact same price. Just worried this is not normal and puts me at higher risk.

Hi there
I completed the compiling of all the downloaded EAs and attached each one to the correct timeframe
After attaching the chart, I notice the EA disconnects from the chart after little more than 1 minute. Any idea why ?
Did I miss anything at the installation ?
-
February 20, 2024 at 20:55 #236564AnonymousInactive
Hi Patrick,
This happens when the FTMO robots downloaded do not match up with the account balance. For example: If you have an account balance of $10,000 then with the FTMO app you need to select the account size before you download the EAs. You also need to select the correct Max Loss, Max Daily Loss, and the Profit target.

Hey Patrick, in a recent discussion Miroslav from our dev team explained why the FTMO Robot deactivates due to the ‘Minimum equity’ protection feature. The robot is designed with three key protections to align with Prop Challenge requirements: Daily loss, Minimum equity, and Maximum equity, with specified thresholds to manage risks effectively. For an account with a different size than the build-in you need to modify the protections and adjust entry lots. For 80,000 EUR account an easy solution would be to divide the relevant properties in the $100,000 robot file by 0.8 (80,000:100,000=0.8).

April 16, 2024 at 12:59 #249102AnonymousInactive
Hi Francesco,
In the upper left corner of your trading chart it shows the Minimum Equity protection has activated. This stops your account from trading. This happened because the Prop Firm robots you installed on your trading chart is for a 100K account, whereas, your account size is $50,000. You need to download the 50K robot and install it in your trading chart.

Hi Paul4x,
After you add the EAs to Metatrader close Metatrader and then re-0pen it. You should now see the EAs in the Navigator window. Once you see the EAs in the Navigator window you can then install them onto the trading chart.
Alan,

April 17, 2024 at 18:57 #249482AnonymousInactive
After downloading the mql file and opening it in the Metaeditor, you would need to compile it for the EA file to be created. This will add the corresponding EA file right above the mql file in the same folder/location you have your mql file at. You can then transfer/copy-paste the newly created EA file to your MT5 terminal data folder -> mql5 -> experts.
After that close the window and then refresh the experts list in your MT5 by right click in the navigator experts list tab then click refresh. This will bring the new EA in the list ready for you to add to the corresponding chart. I hope this helps.

April 18, 2024 at 15:07 #249692AnonymousInactive
Hi Paul4x
This happens because the robots you downloaded do not match the account size so the robots turned themselves off to protect your account. For example, if you have a $10,000 account then you need to download the robots for a $10,000 account. Which robots did you install? Can you show a screenshot?

Hello, I am using FTMO (now Prop firm) robots on my live and demo accounts for about 4 months. Really it’s getting worse and worse. I cannot show you all my results from demo accounts because I have only one month demos at my broker, but you can watch my last week results on my demo.
https://www.fxblue.com/users/ftmodemo10000
I have all 14 EAs active on my demo, but on my live account I use only six (month’s) best from Prop Firm App. Unfortunately these which are the best in week for example 12 give worse results in week 13 than others which are the best in next week. It means on my live account where I’m using 6 best EAs my results are bad as well. In my opinion current market conditions are different from those that existed at the time of creation EAs and they simply need updating, I mentioned about it in another topic. I think I will not renew my subscription if the results are still the same as they are now.
-
April 20, 2024 at 20:04 #250146AnonymousInactive
Hi Gregor,
I reviewed your FXblue results. I suggest keeping AUDCHF.pro and USDCHF.pro with current lot sizes. Change other lots sizes to 0.01. Each weekend sort by Net pips, largest to smallest. Then look at Symbols. Pick the ones that are in profit with profit factor greater than 1.2 and increase their lot size to the risk level you are willing to accept. Move all other assets to 0.01 lots. repeat each weekend. This is how I do it. I do not expose my account to more than 3%. For example, if I find 4 assets that have profit for last week and profit factor greater than 1.2 I set each of their lot sizes to represent 0.75% of account balance.
You can follow my topic from start to current status to get an idea of how I trade the robots. The robots I trade are my own but the workflow is the same:
Hope this will help get you going!

Yes they are different apps. They have different strategies. The Prop Firm robots are best for using with prop firms. The Top 10 EAs are best used with brokerage accounts and are tested using the brokerage accounts listed. I would recommend using the same brokerage accounts.

I’ve not had any luck with these EA’s either.
I put them on a brand new 25k challenge account and thought it would generate a safe return over a timeframe. So far it has not made a single profitable trade, hitting stop loss on 2/3 of the trades.
Strategy with this was to use low and medium risk top 3 EA’s for the previous week, checking against the monthly performances, so far this has not worked out. This week I have dropped the take profit pips in hopes it will take any small profit it can, but so far I have not had a single trade that was not negative.
Any ideas what can be done differently? Are the robots not supposed to be able to be used out of the box?

Hi Gavin,
what EAs are you talking about – the Prop Firm Robots?

April 22, 2024 at 18:11 #250641AnonymousInactive
Hi Boyan,
Yeah the prop firm robots. I’m currently using the top 3 for the week for 25k account
According to the EA download page, i should be seeing at least a bit of profit, but I’ve got nothing.

April 22, 2024 at 18:16 #250643AnonymousInactive
Hi Gavin,
thank you for sharing your experience. For how long have you been using those? I wonder why these Robots made the most profits on the challenges results page? Also Peko makes videos about passing challenges with those. I have a brand new FX2 Funding challenge which I have to start trading soon and I am not sure which robot to start with. I was planing to do it with the Forex Gold Investor, it was crushing it before the 12th of April. Not sure what to do now, I will maybe buy the Forex Diamond EA.

I’ve got a similar problem, using the Prop firm robots as they are on a new 25k account, and they just seem to be tanking it including 4 triggered stop losses losing over 700 in a week. I am using the top 3 for the previous week, on either low or medium risk and just not getting any trades that are not negative.
Are the robots not fit for purpose or am i just doing something wrong? This week I have reduced the take profit pips in hope that it can at least trigger an earlier take profit – even if it is just tiny but nothing yet.
Here are the trades:
Current EA’s:
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Should it not be a plug-and play system? I really hoped I could use this on a larger account but looks like I may need to rethink that plan.

Hi Boyan,
Sorry I’m not sure where my previous comment went..
I am using the Prop Firm ones that are currently top 3 for low risk.
According to the EA page i downloaded them from, I am supposed to be at least a little bit profitable but so far.. nothing.
EURAUD M15 v6.0 #1486211416 – profit $198, drawdown 0.05%
USDCHF M15 v6.1 #1586270803 – profit $196, drawdown 0.49%
AUDCHF M30 v6.1 #1460069807 – profit $186, drawdown 0.13%
those are apparent returns, I am currently -$770, so either I am doing something wrong or these just do not work as advertised.

Hi Gavin,
The following link will send you to a 9 week series of comments on how I trade the robots I created with EA Studio on my Infinity Forex Fund challenge which is just a few hundred dollars away from getting funded. You can use the same workflow to trade the Prop Firm robots. If you study my workflow and apply it I am sure you can win a challenge. I am also using the same workflow on three other accounts.

hello, some prop firms add other letters to thier simbols, like EURUSDC, they put letter C after every simble and the robot cant read it, is there some adjustments we can do on the software to make it read it ?
-
April 23, 2024 at 12:05 #250981AnonymousInactive
Hi ahmadaboud,
The added characters after the symbol is just the brokers way of identifying the name of the chart. The robots do not read the chart name, they read the bars or candles on the chart. If you are using MT4 and see a smiley face in the upper right corner of the chart, or if you are using MT5 and see a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart, then the robots are working correctly.

Hi Alan,
I took a quick look at you rworkflow, it looks very complex and time consuming. I am still new to forex trading and I thought if I would buy the Prop Firm Robots they would pass the challenge almost automatically and all I have to do is to check in the app week for week what are the top 1 -3 performers. Apparently it is not doable like this, maybe I will look for another solution. In this context I find videos like ‘The Prop Firm Robots Passed 100k Challenge Fully Automatically’ on the TA YT channel misleading.

April 23, 2024 at 16:36 #251035AnonymousInactive
Hi Boyan,
My workflow is not the only workflow in successful trading it is what I found works best for me. My workflow tests the robots and then increases the lot size on those robots that are profiting. It takes me about 30 minutes once every weekend to check which robots worked best the previous week and then to update the lot sizes. Then I am done for another week.
The workflow on the YT channel is what Petko uses. Petko takes robots shown to be profitable and put them on a challenge. If they hit profit target then that account gets funded. If he loses that account because of excessive draw down then he starts over with a new challenge. He repeats this process until the account gets funded.
While both of your workflows achieves funded accounts they are not the only ones that can be used to become a successful trader. Every successful trader has figured out the workflow that works best for them. I hope you too will figure out what works best for you.

Hello guys,
trying to get some insight on these:
1. I understand that optimisation in the app is providing best trade settings per TF and historical data chosen per account size. So besides, lot size do I need to adjust entry protections (spread, max positions max lot) or for example the entry time/schedule? What would you suggest please?
2. I check for 1-3 top performers looking for smoother graph line and lower DD version and use only these. Any suggestions here as well please?

Hi Alan, tha would be the Prop Firm Robot app :-)
-
April 24, 2024 at 14:08 #251253AnonymousInactive
Hi Konstantino,
So, when you access the Prop Firm Robot app the first thing you do is to select the account size, the Daily DD, the Max DD, the Profit target, the risk, and the news filter option. Lets say you select 1% risk. This means you are risking 1% of the account balance. So if you chose to trade 3 robots then the total account risk is 3%. So if the prop firm you are using has a daily DD limit of 5% then there is nothing you need to do. Professional traders do not risk more than 2% on each trade nor do they risk more than a total account risk of 6%. So this strategy would be inline with what the pros do.
I like the idea of looking for the smoother graph line. This is the same as looking for the robots with the lower DD.
Alan,
-
April 25, 2024 at 1:08 #251383AnonymousInactive
My strategy on reading top performers is : check pairs from Y5 to D1 all the graphs that show smoother lines, lowest DD and match those in Y1 with no big balance gaps against time elapsed to figure out ideally how long it will take for the bots to show positive performance. Then choose no more than 3 top performers to use per week and repeat the process every Sunday to check for changes.
-

Hi Konstantio,
Great! Now that you have defined your strategy, test it to make sure it is a profitable strategy. If not, then find out what went wrong, improve on it, and test again.

A wee update on progress : EU, AU and XAU bots have been running on my 3 challanges (10k, 25k and 50k) for about a couple weeks now. In general there is more win in value than loss, vast majority of trades is with XAU and the last week was not good but still safe under the EP limit.
EU made a couple of trades both of them wins. However for both pairs since the TP was pretty far away, i had to close the trades in profit manually after at least 3/4 of the TP run was done. Sometimes by setting manual trail in MT or by simply cloing the position.
Now based on the above, i will try a different set up for the coming week focusing on even lower top performers 1-2. I will also get all bots in the app running on a 25k demo making sure their total lot size is within the 1% of the medium risk. I ll run them for at least a month to check best performers there and compare with what the app suggests and my selections for the first couple of weeks in order to cross check and have a better view.
I am pretty sure that not all top performers will perform on the blue side, however i am also pretty sure that there are 1-3 that will show promising consistency and i am more than curious to see that since different brokers, different pairs and different market conditions can vastly affect theoretical optimisation, so real market conditions would probably the only way to have better understanding and verify.

April 27, 2024 at 21:18 #251994AnonymousInactive
Hi Konstantino,
Great job this past week. I like your approach for this next week. Let us know how it goes!
After you manually closed EU what did it do after words? Did it continue higher, did it finally hit its profit target, or, did it turn down keeping you from a loss? You should document this so every time you manually close a position you will have a record of it. From this record you will be able to determine over the long term which strategy, manually stop out or let it run, would have been more profitable.
Alan,

Hey Alan, thanx for the feedback. The EU trade was closed completely as i didnt set up partial tp. After that the bot didnt open any other trades on the same day. After that i switched to a different set up keeping the XAU as more active and due to its higher value wins i had.
However the past few days XAU on M15 has opened a few trades the wrong way (or at least the against the market but at the correct direction at the time just the market didnt follow) so this week i wa a bit at loss. Far from the EP and the losses were smaller as the sl or the manual closing/manual trail were much shorter than the win runs. I am now trying to self control against getting scared if a trade goes the wrong way for say 3-4 hours with no signs or reversal and also trying to figure out if setting manual trail sl would help in some cases. In general, i have studied Petko’s approach with choosing only 1-2 top performers and changing nothing of the settings and simply trusting the system and let it run its course. Maybe only tweak lot size a bit and if profitable start scaling up.
One thing i noticed is that Thursday and Friday XAU opened 2-3 trades thinking it will go buy but market went massively sell so the bot stayed the course until it closed earlier at some point with about 70-100$ loss and at the same time opened a new trade on the prevailing direction and gained back some of the losses in the end. But, since this is not grid or martingale, does the bot do that in general? Closing early and opening new opposing trade on its own? I didnt see any close at opposite signal settings.

Hi Konstantino,
Last week we had some high risk news events against the US Dollar so this is the reason gold didn’t do well. Over the long tern these news events will favor the US Dollar and gold so it will all average out. Since sometimes these news events can go against gold I would not risk too much on gold so keep lot size under control so gold doesn’t significantly DD your account when these news events occur. Some traders try to close trades ahead of these news events. The problem is there are so many during the month it is hard to stay on top of them. Besides, sometimes these news events will favor the EAs. As a result, I do not try to time these news events I just keep risk under control.
I like to document my trades and my strategy so I can refer back to them and see where I did good and what needs to be improved. I think all traders should do this.
I think you are starting to get control of your trading so keep up the good work.

Why is the traded not triggered after following all instructions for installing the bot ?
Also why is it that when trying to plug in on all other account the bot goes off on other accounts plugged earlier?
-
April 27, 2024 at 14:03 #251930AnonymousInactive
Hi Efe,
As to why the trade is not triggered depends upon the Expert Advisor you are using. Some EAs may only trigger a trade one a week on average.
As to why the bot goes off on other accounts is most likely because the account protections have been activated. If you provide a screenshot of the trading chart I may be able to clarify better.

April 28, 2024 at 9:46 #252062AnonymousInactive
Thanx so much Alan really appreciate it.
Now regarding news 2 things I’d like to ask: 1. Shouldn’t the EA avoid opening trades during high impact news 2 mins before and 5 minutes after? And if so should we increase this time frame let’s say 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after to avoid these news? Or as you said the news sometimes are just too many so restricting the EA in general could also prevent it entering some favourable news positions and it is virtually impossible to say which is which and try to keep out from all of these so it’s better to let’s say avoid the hard core of the events 2-5 minutes before/after to also be within the prop firms regulation of trading news but also keep the lot size under control so in case things do go south the loss won’t be that big. And simply wait for better days.
I was also thinking about the idea of closing any trade during high impact news (or switch off autotrading) if I see that it goes beyond an acceptable loss limit for me, more than 1/3-1/2 of the SL distance, as this is clearly a sign that price is going the other way to place its self in a position of a new high only to drop/rise from that point after the market is no longer interested in that position (so should also keep an eye on volume – very low volume on strong uptrend/downtrend is a strong indicator of a reversal coming up). But this is something you can manually act upon but a bot should follow its system no matter what and this is what it supposed to do. Which means let it run do its thing be careful with lot size and eventually things should change.

Hi Efe,
Just give it more time and it will provide trades. When you look at the Prop Firm Robot app and look at the ccount of trades it will give you an idea as to how often the robot trades on average. From this you can get an idea as to how often you should expect the robot to trade. For example, if you look at Y1 and the count of trades shows 52 you can figure that robot provides one trade per week on average. Hope this helps!

Hi
I have purchased and downloaded PropFirm Ea and put it onto an FTMO CHART. The only problem is that it says the “EA turned off” on the chart and it hasn’t placed any trades.
IF you can let me know how to trade the PropFirm EA that would be helpful.

May 1, 2024 at 17:43 #252684AnonymousInactive
Hi Anne,
This happens when one of the account protections was activated. You can see this in the upper left corner of the trading charts. To resolve this issue you need to modify the Account Protections which is located in the EA properties box.
This usually occurs when downloading the robots where the account balance chosen doesn’t match the actual prop firm account balance.

Greetings!
Happened to notice that the Robots are not quite working well. As an example, USDCHF is making highs and EA is not giving any buy signals.
Please make sure the ones are updated and working well. After making so much scrutiny I opted for Prop Robots and this is not performing as expected.
I will see the performance for another few days.

Agree, all robots are not updated and in general there are losses even you choose only 3-4 the best from last month. There are not shown any losses at prop robots app, you can see only 11 which have no loss, but it isn’t a true. Last weeks I tested all 14 robots on my demo and they have very bad results, you can see it in my other posts. The same performs on my live account, but with 6 the best. My money is thrown away and I will not extend my subscription until the robots are updated and start working.

Hello Gregor,
I see that you are not having a good experience with our Prop Firm Robots.
Please keep in mind that there are bad periods for all robots. Last month we passed a challenge with the Prop Firm Robots. What we did is that we were looking for the top 5 everyday on the Weekly timeframe and High Risk.
What I would suggest is that you try different combinations such the one mentioned above and see which one is working for you. Of course try on a demo account.
Hope this helps!
Kind Regards,

May 2, 2024 at 10:17 #252784AnonymousInactive
Thanks for your inputs Gregor.
The team has to observe keenly on the development of the said robots.
We brought the Robots thinking that we don’t have to sit in front of the system all the time, and the chosen Robots will take care of our trades, even though we are not actively participating in punching the trades manually.
Our chief aim to procure these Robots is to get profitable/pass the challenges, in our absence.
Many times, most of the pairs are moving a lot and robots are not participating in the Rally/Downfall. By the naked eyes we can see the changes happening.
Many opportunities are coming on daily basis and most of the times, Robots are sitting idle (As they are created/designed for certain scenarios to happen).
I brought the Prop Robots for life time and what I am expecting is they should participate in trade on daily basis.
As trading is happening around 23 Hours a Day and we are unable to find a trade means seriously those are to be re-coded to meet Industries best EAs. (For Example, a Simple Crossover trades we can find any chosen time frames, with minimum 1:3 RR).
Let’s wait for the team on how they can increase the efficiency.

I turned off all prop robots from academy on my live account and I am working manually, results are much better now . But I didn’t pay for robots to hold them. When you take out for exempel 3-4 best robots from last month they are not the best in the next week, because quite different are the best in this week. The ones you choose bring looses this week, and so on. I think all they need is an update to current market conditions using FSB (forex strategy builder)
-
May 2, 2024 at 11:49 #252808AnonymousInactive
That’s very true. Out of 12 months in a year there will be 9 Plus algo changes in stock market, afterall markets are run by Robots. So we are not certain the last month winning stratgey will work in the next month. If you succeed by using the same old startegy then you are lucky enough. The setups has to be updated on continuous basis. And we can’t test the startgies long time in demo accounts and once we deployed them on real account, we might experience strange experiences (You mentioned that you had experience already).

Hi

-
May 2, 2024 at 20:23 #252976AnonymousInactive
Hi Anne,
The first thing you need to do is to make sure you have properly selected the parameters for the Prop Firm EA you want to download and trade. The following chart shows you need to select the Account size of the prop firm challenge, then you need to select the Max Loss requirement of the prop firm, then the Max daily loss, the Profit target, the Risk, and finally the News filter option you want.
Then you need to download the EA and install it on a prop firm challenge that matches the account size selected. For example, if you have started a 10K prop firm challenge, then you need to seleTct the $10,000 account in the Prop Firm Robot app. If you select a $10,000 account in the Prop Firm Robot app and then install the EA in a prop firm challenge with a different account size the robot will not work until you adjust the account protections in the EA.
Then if you have properly installed the EA in metatrader and have either a smiley face of a blue hat in the upper right corner of the trading chart you should be all set up and the EAs should start trading.

Hello Anne. What i would do, is check first that autotrading is on, if the correct url is set in the expert options in metatrader, and if i get any errors in the experts tab or in the journal tab in metatrader. If all this checks out, and i have made sure that i have the correct EA for the correct pair for the correct TF, then i would check if any of the protection settings are on preventing the EA to open trades as it should for protecting the account. By default these are off to 0 for spread, max lot size and max orders open, and only the trading hours are auto calculated for each pair which means the EA wont open trades outside this timeframe. If all the above checks fail to correct the issue i would contact support with a few screenshots for furthert assistance. I hope this helps :-).

Hi, is there a reason why there are 2 of the prop firm EAs using the same magic number by default, the EURAUD M15 v6.0 EA and the AUDCHF M5 v6.1. It’s a bit confusing as it lumps their trades together when looking at the results on fxblue.

May 6, 2024 at 12:20 #253512AnonymousInactive
Hi paul4x,
The EA is set up so as not to take any new trades 15 minutes before the market closes for the day. New trades can then be taken after the market re-opens 15 minutes later. This is done to avoid a new trade occurring 15 minutes before the market closes with super large spreads. There are also large spreads right after the market re-opens, so I would change the number from 0 to 1 or 2 to avoid these large spreads.
Note: The number zero represents the beginning of the new trading day. The number one represents one hour after the market opens for the day.

i have a successful installation on FTMO and other firms. but on chart it says EA is turned off and it removes itself also successfully from the chart. I changed lotsize and all other robot are working fine.
So a successful automatic removal of the EA from the chart is my experience with EA trading academy Robots.

that sometimes happens if you have your min equity is set wrongly, the bot takes it as being hit EP and removes the bot

Hi Wolfgang,
If there is a smiley face in the upper right corner of the trading chart then you are good to go. Just wait for new trades to develop. To properly protect your FTMO account I would suggest the following:
In the Prop Firm Robot app look at the top left area of the screen where it says Account. Select the account size you will be trading in the FTMO challenge. Also select the correct Max loss, Max daily loss, Profit target, Risk, and the news option. After you make these selections then download the robots you want to trade. So I would remove the robots you downloaded and re-download the correct ones.

Hi @Alan
Yes I’m aware that I can change the magic number, that’s not the point. Why have the same default magic number for 2 different pairs when everything is tied to the magic number (the EA name, the filename, etc). Makes tracking the results very difficult. I’m continuously installing and moving the EAs around different accounts to test and see which are the better performers. Having to change the magic number every time I add it to a different account just adds one more thing to do that should be automatic.
Btw, is there a way to download all 14 EAs together? In the FTMO robots app I can only download the ones visible in each view (yearly, monthly, weekly, etc) but they don’t all appear together.
-
May 6, 2024 at 12:46 #253519AnonymousInactive
Hi superalf,
The magic numbers are randomly generated. As fate would have it, the random generator picked the same magic number for the same magic number for these two robots. Change the magic number in the source code and re-compile. Then when you move the robots around from account to account you won’t have to keep changing the magic numbers.
To download all 14 robots at the same time select Y5, select Add to zip, and then select All.

Hi Alan,
Thank you for replying. I’m novice compared to most people here so please elaborate more. If it helps I’ve added more details:
Robots I currently have the below EAs and a $200K challenge at $191k:
Please advise on:
1. How to properly apply risk diversification for the safest and most consistent results?
2. What do the headers “D1″,”W1″,”M1” mean? Does it mean we would be applying the EAs accourning to the sufix timeframe (Ex: AUDCHF M5, on 5 min) and let them run for a day, a week etc accordingly?
3. Any additional heads up/suggestion you have for me to pass the challenge using robots?
Thank You in advance
-
May 11, 2024 at 13:09 #254505AnonymousInactive
Hi Calebfg256,
Answer 1: Before you select a Prop Firm robot you need to make some choices to set up risk and profit target. See image below. You need to select the size of your challenge. You need to select the Max loss, Max daily loss, and Profit target according to the requirements of your challenge. Then you need to determine risk, Low risk, Medium risk, or High risk. Then you need to decide if you want the robot to trade during news events so you need to select the New filter you wish to use.
Answer 2: If you select robot EURUSD M15 for example, then you need to put it on a M15 chart.
Answer 3: To pass a challenge, or to be a successful trader using a brokerage account with robots requires three things: 1. A good robot. The Prop firm robots are very good robots and have been backtested to show they can product profits. 2: A trading strategy. It is a well know fact in professional trading that all traders need to develop their own trading strategy. What works for one trader does not often work for another. If one strategy was to work for everyone, that trader could sell his strategy and we would all get rich. However, it does not work like that. The majority of traders end up losing their accounts. So, my advise is to practice on a demo account until you figure out your strategy for trading. The demo account could be with a forex broker or the prop firm FTMO has a demo account. 3. Risk diversification: Professional traders never risk more than 2% or their account on any one trade or robot and they never risk more than 6% when trading multiple robots at one time. Professional traders never put all their eggs in one basket. So trade more than one robot so that if one robot is drawing down the other robots might be profiting offsetting the loss.
Hope this helps!
Alan,

What do you mean by Trading Strategy I thougnt the bots used a backtested strategy. I know how to trade but I didnt think we would be using a strategy with the bot and how would we go about using technical analysis with a bot I know how to use TA when I am manually trading using indicators support and resistance Price action etc but how does that work with a bot?
-
June 6, 2024 at 10:06 #259895AnonymousInactive
Hey Derek,
You need to test the robots in demo first to see their performance and then set them in a challenge if you are happy and believe that they will perform well.
And with that, you do not need manual trading here, it’s all automatic once you set it.
Kind Regards,
Nikos

Hi Alan,
As far as I can tell not all the robots appear under Y5. I only see 12 EAs under Y5 and as I was under the impression that there are 14 in total. For instance I don’t see the USDCAD M5 EA under Y5 and there must be another one missing.
-

Hi superalf,
Right now there are only 12. Petko has removed 2 of them and has not yet replaced them.

May 6, 2024 at 14:22 #253544AnonymousInactive
So the USDCAD M5 pair that appears under the W1 EA we should not use?
-
May 6, 2024 at 14:30 #253546AnonymousInactive
Hi Superalf,
That pair did not trade last week. However, it will continue to trade in the future. I trade 10 different EAs in my Infinity Forex Fund challenge and in some weeks certain EAs do not trade for a week or two and then they start trading again. So, this is normal. Further, you may pick some robots that traded last week but one or two of them may not trade next week. This is why it is a good idea to diversify.

May 6, 2024 at 14:44 #253555AnonymousInactive
Hi Alan,
Maybe I’m not explaining myself correctly, let me rephrase. You said that Petko has reduced the FTMO robots to 12 pairs. In the Y5 page there are 12 pairs, so I’m guessing those are the 12. But if I drill down into the other time frames (weekly, daily, etc) there are other pairs aside from the 12 that show up in the Y5 page. So my question is, which are the 12 official EAs that we should use and which are the ones that have been removed that we should stop trading? Is USDCAD M5 v.61 one of the ones to avoid (does not appear in Y5 page). There is also a AUDCHF M5 v6.1 EA which does not show up in the Y5 (but does in the W1). can you please clarify this?
-

I am asking Petko for clarification!
-
May 6, 2024 at 16:18 #253570AnonymousInactive
Hi superalf,
I use to be able to go to Y5 and see all 14 robots. Why I cannot do that now is a mystery. It may be that Petko is not testing the shorter term time frames back 5 years like he use to. I am waiting for clarification from Petko.
While we wait I should also invoke some knowledge to you incase you are not aware. The robots are back tested using BlackBull historical data. You may not be aware that all brokers/prop firm historical data is somewhat different. So for example, the top 3 robots in the Prop Firm robot app may not be the top 3 when trading the robots with FTMO. So, when you chose the robots you want to use from the Prop firm robot app don’t expect them to be the same top performers in the FTMO challenge.
Alan,

-
May 6, 2024 at 19:09 #253594AnonymousInactive
Hi Alan,
Thanks for checking on that. Do let me know.
Right, I am aware that the backtesting is not done using FTMO and that the data and results can change from one broker to another, I have seen this myself. This is why I have been testing the robots myself on an FTMO demo account to determine which are performing better (following your approach with your EA Studio robots, great work there!)

Hi Wolfgang,
The app is updated every hour and shows profits and losses. Here is the problem and some education for you.
The historical data your Expert Advisors use with your metatrader terminal is not the same for all brokers/prop firms. The reason is with the forex market there is not one single source where all the brokers get their historical data. So it is up to each broker to go out into the markets and get their own data. They do this by getting trading data from various banks around the world. Unfortunately, all banks / prop firms do not get their trading data from the same banks. As a result every brokers data will be somewhat different. So when you have a particular EA and you use it with different brokers you will get different results. So when EA on broker A is profiting the same EA on broker B could be losing, AND, when the EA on broker A is losing the same EA on broker B could be profiting. The problem is not the EA it is the historical data used by the brokers.
Knowing this, the app where you got the EA uses broker Blackbull for its historical data. The results shown in the app shows the performance of the EAs using Blackbull historical for educational purposes. You need to read the at the bottom of the app. While the EAs in the app show certain performance, because each brokers historical data is different, it does not mean the same EAs will be profitable at the same time with the broker / prop firm you are using. So how do we successfully use these EAs? Good question! Here is the answer: You need to test the EAs with your broker/prop firm. So how do we do this? Here is how I do it: I install all EAs I want to trade with the broker I plan on using and use a 0.01 lot size so the results do not significantly cause a drawdown. I then let the EAs run for one week, sometimes two weeks. I then review the results to determine which EAs are profitable with the broker/prop firm I am using. I will then chose these EAs to trade and change the lot size to represent the account risk I chose to accept. Currently I am testing 50 EAs I created with a new prop firm I plan to use. I always do this to reduce risk. This is all part of money management.
You can be successful using the EAs from the Prop Firm robots app or the Top 10 EA app, it just depends upon how you do it. Success comes from testing with is part of money management. Money management is necessary to run a home, a business, or in trading.
Hope this helps!
Alan,

The Problem with this strategy is I did the samething tested for 3 week-4 weeks saw which EA’s were profitable with the broker I am using and then added to the chart for my prop challenge. I was profitable for a week then in 1 week lost all my profits. New EAs come out everyday you add you test those by the time you test them and find winners new bots come out and even if you add after a succesful test they dont last more than a week or two and by then you already had a huge drawdown. So you are in a constant struggle of testing finding winners they work for a week you add new ones and those have a huge drawdown and wipe away all your gains from the week before. So you are in a loop of getting up then giving it all back then getting up then giving it all back.

Hello,
I connect the V6.1 bot gold to my mt4 account but 0 trade was opened since Friday. Someone have an explication?
-
May 10, 2024 at 8:17 #254286AnonymousInactive
Experience lesson: yesterdays gold super bullish move to a new high, besides eating away all my previous wins of the week, really was the proof and lesson I needed to understand how to better manage the FTMO Prop EA trading. See the SL/TP range is huge and by design that is to allow the XAU movement towards TP. However, as of yet the TP has never been hit, whereas SL sometimes and if not the open trade stays well within loss until it reverses to profit. Sometimes the EA will close the trade early and open opposite direction but not if it doesn’t get the required opposite signals. Now here is the breakdown for me: you shouldn’t allow the EA to go over 100$ in loss with XAU especially if you are running it on default protections with no spread/max lot/max open positions protections. If the EA has opened a wrong direction position, I would let it run up to 100$ loss and most likely close the trade and possibly open a new one manually to the opposite direction as this movement is a strong indication of the trend going the other far the other way and until it comes back that is usually the profit direction. I have noticed that if the pair is chopping there is no real danger as it will definitely return to the opening direction soon. But if the pair is trending and trending strongly, then it won’t come back anytime soon and I would need the opposite direction to match my losses and also gain some profits. So the way the EA trades when loosing at least with XAU, can be used as a strong confirmation to either hedge with an opposite direction manual trade so you can offset the loss to breakeven and even gain some profit while waiting for the reversal or if you want to play it safe simply close the wrong direction after 80$-90$ loss and open an opposite direction IF the chart is showing strong trend and high volume on that trend. The EA usually opens the correct direction but because the SL/TP for XAU is huge you should really be careful when the trade is not going the right way. This supposed to be a bearish move but turned out to be the most impressive bull trend I have seen the last couple weeks with any pair. Due to work commitments I wasn’t on my PC to make changes and caught this late on my mobile after the open loss was about 380-400$, so at that point I had to let it play out. But since it wasn’t coming back this morning and the SL was at about 500$ I closed the trade, as it was affecting all three of my challenges. Thankfully nothing else was open so this move didn’t activate my EP, however I think I ll pass todays trading as the losses counted on todays trading and if another one like this happens it could be an issue. Please note so far the EA has been very successful and was able to manage it correctly. But it needs monitoring like that as sometimes it will be very wrong although its calculations are correct but the market is not playing ball as it has a mind of its own and can go either way without notice.

i too took a hit on this trade, on friday, loss of £700. I run this bot on my darwin account. So i have a lot aize of 0.19 open. Thing is it was in nice profit on thursday i think by £240 and hindsight says i should have banked the profit but i wanted to see the EA in action.
May have to adjust the TP in the set file going forward and take the small wins.
-
May 11, 2024 at 11:50 #254498AnonymousInactive
@paul4x yep that’s a good idea as well. Tbh the XAU pair seems the most active-profitable-low DD EA on the board so far. However due to its volatility can sometimes return more losses. So perhaps tightening the TP from 9000 to 5000-6000 would be a solution limiting the chances of a reversal as for the price to hit the default TP is a long distance and lots of things can happen to turn things around until it hits that TP. So if the XAU is more active, then yes a smaller TP that would most likely be hit more often would also be an excellent choice.
-
May 11, 2024 at 22:21 #254568AnonymousInactive
@paul4x i would also consider taking my trading pairs to about -50% SL/TP on a 1:2 ratio and possibly add a max spread limit about 15 points for forex and 30 points for xau.

Hey Konstantinos,
Thank you for sharing your experience.
So, as you mentioned and correctly of course, the market can be very tricky at times and make an EA have losing periods which I believe it’s normal as nobody can really predict the market all the time.
I think the best is to lower the risk of each trade to about 1% or even 2% at most.
Thank you!
Kind Regards,

Hi Embi,
As long as you see a smiley face or a blue hat in the upper right corner of the chart and the EA and the chart time frames are the same then you have set up the EA correctly. These EAs mostly only trade one per day on average. So Since you just opened the EA on Friday I would expect you should see a trade on Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

The forex market is open 24 hours a day during weekdays but closes on weekends. Because this market operates in multiple time zones, it can be accessed at any time except for the weekend break.
That being said, please check the Journal and Experts tab for any errors messages that might help to identify the problem and post some screenshots here so we can assist you if there are setup issues.

Hi guys,
I wonder if you could tell me where I am going wrong please?
I am testing the prop firm robots on a demo account and am getting very different results to what you are showing.
Last week I used the USDJPY M15 #2013751115 and it said that it had 15 trades with a profit of $8 165.
It ran for the week and I made a loss of $4 408.
I went to choose the top 3 for this week and it shows 15 trades for the same pair with a profit of $6 176.
I was expecting it to show a higher number of trades and less profit.
All the other account settings were the same and I am looking at M1.
Would really appreciate your help as I need to be sure of the figures you are displaying.
Much appreciated

I am in the same boat using the top robots shown on weekly chart and literally every trade is a losing trade I have nearly blown nearly two accounts using the tope robots. It worked for about two weeks with this strategy now today I checked and it shows on Weekly these are the top assets to trade according to the Prop Robot App: XAGUSD M15 #1637565497, EURJPY M15 #1446236375, XAGUSD M15 #57633752. Today for XAGUSD M15 #1637565497 I am down $-520. I looked on my trading history and it shows 4 of my trades all of them hit TP but all TP in a loss!! I set my parameters as follows its a $200k account 3% max daily loss and 8% ($16,000) Target. Total max loss is 8% ($16,000). The 4 trades that took a loss were tiny scalp trades with very close TP near the entry price and all ended in a loss!! The trades are as follows: ALL were .26 Lot size for XAGUSD. Trade 1. SELL ORDER Entry price = 30.9617 SL = 30.9984 TP=30.9818. LOSS of $25.61. Trade 2. SELL ORDER Entry price = 30.6667 SL = 30.6995 TP= 30.6829. LOSS of $19.11. Trade 3. BUY ORDER Entry price = 30.6207 SL = 30.5879 TP = 30.6045. LOSS of $19.50. Trade 4. SELL ORDER Entry price = 30.6592 SL = 30.6920 TP = 30.6754. LOSS of $20.15.

July 12, 2024 at 14:24 #269848AnonymousInactive
Some of the strategies may have a trailing stop-loss. You can look in the Journal tab for messages stating something like “position modified”. If you see such, this means that the particular EA has Trailing SL. I see form your screenshot that you’re trading with XAGUSD only so you may try few other pairs at the same time, as it might be the market is not good for this pair at the moment. On our accounts we achieved the best results when trading with 3-5 EAs at the same time, picking the top performers from the weekly or monthly charts, and replacing them daily so everyday we can trade with the top performers for the desired period according to the app.

Hi Nikos,
I understood. Thank you for your reply.
I have another question about the inputs in the Prop Firm Robot. I think the [Entry lots] will be set automatically by Prop Firm Robot App, However, the account size I want to challenge is not included in the options, so I would like to know how the lot size is calculated.

When things don’t go as planned, it can be annoying. Considering that the FTMO Robot is still relatively new, I’ve heard varying opinions regarding it. Although some traders have found success, it’s wise to move warily at all times. Make sure to give it a thorough look and think about utilizing a demo account initially. If someone has lately tried it, their opinions would be very helpful!

I want some honest help why is it that when I use the Prop Robots on a demo account to do forward testing and I use the exact same broker but the bot is trading completely differently? I opned these two demo accounts around the same time for testing I use the same prop robots with the same broker same MT5 through XM.com and they are trading COMPLETELY differently not just slightly but one is taking WAY WAY more trades and very profitable the other is taking only a couple trades and not very profitable and sometimes in a sizeable DD while the other account again same broker is very profitable. I am needing real help here you say do testing on demo I am doing testing on one these demo accouts not for just a couple weeks or 30 days but it never stops I test permanently and then depending on results the idea was to use the same broker and then whatever bots are showing profitable I then add to another demo again same broker and same bots and copy the trades to my prop account. The problem is how can I depend on the results if the same bot is doing completely different trades on the same broker? This has been my constant problem no matter if I do forwward testing with the same broker on a demo or depend on the prop robot app whenever I add those winning bots to my MT$ even if its the same broker I am doing the testing with the trades are always and I mean always different so basically I have no proper data to know if any robot I add to my chart will be profitable its always a gamble because no matter what tests or whether I use the prop robot app results will always be different and can put me in a big loss. I never know what will happen its literally a complete gamble. Every day every week I have no idea what robots will be profitable. So how do you do this its not as simple as just see the winning robots on the prop robot app and each day make sure you check andjadd the top 3-5 robots if it was this simple I would be in profit consistently! I have done this strategy and sometimes its profitable but not nearly the same results as the app is saying or the app says this robot is doing well but yet when I add it to my charts the trades are all losing and puts me in a deep DD. Please help there has to be more to all this!

Hey Derek,
So, are you using the same account type for example, is it raw spreads on the one account and standard on the other or the same type?
What I would say here is to try a different broker. You can see the brokers we use and what has worked for us here: https://eatradingacademy.com/trusted-brokers/
Maybe the conditions of the broker is not the best.
Hope this helps!

Hi Nikos both Demo accounts are through Blackbull its the hedge account I created when I registered on blackbull Markets website I just clicked demo account and selected Demo 2 for the sever and plugged in the account number and password. Is there something else I should look at between these two demo accounts? I dont know why the trades are vastly different same prop robots being forward tested and same demo accounts which is on your reccomended list you sent me.

look at this both standard accounts and both comepletely different profits both started at $200k account and one is 16k in profit the other is 3k in a loss same prop robots same everything.
-
August 1, 2024 at 6:10 #273378AnonymousInactive
I reached out to blackbull markets and contacted their support they looked into my demo accounts both are standard and they said the only reason the trades are different is because of something in the EAs settings that is different betweent the bots I am using on one account and the settings on the bot on the other demo account but I never adjust settings! So I need help on resolving this.
-
August 1, 2024 at 6:24 #273380AnonymousInactive
They also told me to contact the EA developer and ask if the bots are supposed to take identical trades becuase I took USDJPY for example I looked at the input setttings an both are identical on both black bull demo accounts so same bot and settings the same on both accounts is the way this bot designed is it meant to take different trades even if everything is the same same broker type same XM.com MT5 platform and same input settings is there something in the code that makes the bots trade differently?

Hey Nikos check this out I saved the logs for trades made on 07/30/24 as this date I noticed many more trades for USDJPY on one account vs the other and much more profitable. I use chatgpt to analyse the logs and this is what chatgpt is saying between the two accounts that day.
It seems that both files are not being read correctly, possibly due to encoding issues or file formatting. I will attempt to read the raw content of the files to better understand their structure and find a suitable way to process them.
The files are encoded in a format that includes a byte order mark (BOM) indicating UTF-16 encoding, which is why there are issues reading them directly. I will reprocess these files using UTF-16 encoding to extract and analyze the data correctly.
Both logs appear to have a non-standard structure with columns that are not clearly named. The data contains technical information about the trading environment, but it seems the log messages are mixed with system and expert advisor details.I will attempt to clean the data and isolate relevant entries related to trades on the USDJPY pair from both accounts to identify the discrepancies.
The filtered logs indicate entries related to trades on the USDJPY pair for both accounts. Here’s a summary of what was found:565 Account: It has multiple entries for USDJPY trades including market sells and buys with specific volumes (e.g., 3.02 lots, 4.03 lots). These trades are detailed with timestamps and order acceptance confirmations.
363 Account: This log also contains entries for USDJPY trades, but it appears to have fewer trades compared to the 565 account. The volumes and timestamps are also different.
Key Observations:
Trade Volumes: The 565 account has executed more trades with varying volumes compared to the 363 account.
Timestamps: The trades in the 565 account seem to have been executed at different times than those in the 363 account, which could indicate differences in the bot’s trading strategy execution or conditions met during the trades.
Trade Count: The 565 account has more recorded trades for USDJPY, which might explain its higher profitability on the given date.
Possible Reasons for Discrepancies:
Different Trade Triggers: The bots may have different parameters or have encountered different market conditions, leading to a different number of trade executions.
Execution Environment: Differences in latency or execution speed due to the environment (e.g., VPS vs. local machine) might have affected the trade timing.
Configuration Differences: The bots might not have identical configurations, leading to discrepancies in trade behavior.
To further diagnose the issue, it would be useful to compare the specific configurations of both bots and consider any differences in their operating environments. If needed, I can help you analyze further based on more details. -

The ptobleme is not the challenge account. The probleme is your EAs are not good, i paid that 350 euros. You are making a software to backtest and to avoid testing. You’re EAs are bad. It trade any where, without a logic.
It was written that there is 30 days money back. I want to get my money back because the top 5 of your EAs does not work. And you should stop selling them
-
August 15, 2024 at 9:36 #280179NIKOS KYRIAKOUParticipant
Hey Mourad,
I understand what you are talking about but we and other traders, have passed challenges with our EAs so that means they actually aren’t bad but they are pretty much functional.
As I mentioned, you need to first test them in demo before setting them in a live account or challenge. That is because you need to see how they are working, get comfortable with them and then set them on live account.
If you check the following table, you will see that there are actually results: https://eatradingacademy.com/premium-robots/ftmo-robot/
You need to follow a strategy to get results!
Also, keep in mind that the market conditions also are not good at the moment and that can also cause losses.

I cannot insert image in my post so refer to the 2 images I posted above
Note: I am still in negative of my challenge account,The issue we encounter with the EA (August 15, 2024 at 18:38 post) is keep open losing trade.
while in the website (August 15, 2024 at 18:39 post) it show it is still profitability and requesting us to keep the EA (Cause it never hit the SL of the opened trade)
but once the opened trade hit the TP, it opened another trade quite instantly and it hit the SL, which reflect my account encounter.
Proposal to dev team:
Can adjust the SL to above Open price once it become profitability, so it can open and close trade more frequently and it will reflect more accurately on the website instead of keeping the losing EA cause we might missed the golden opportunity to open that trade (8 Aug as showed above) but cause of keeping the EA it opened 3 losing trade. -

Hi Nikos
so Im a bit confused. you’ve said, “Before testing the Prop Firm Robots on a challenge or live account, first test them on demo. That way you can see how they perform and when you believe there is a good performance, you can just set them on a challenge or live account!”
you’ve also said that on a daily basis we must upload the latest top EAs to ensure we are trading with the best strategies.
so what happens if an EA we are testing on a demo is replaced by a new top one. and this happens almost daily, I check everyday. which one do we go for then.
is it the ones we are testing on our demo or the latest top ones on your app, which change daily.

Hey Tsholo,
So, what I meant is that before you trade the robots on a challenge or live account, it’s always good to trade them on a demo so that you get used to them and also to be able to find a strategy that works for you to achieve results.
Also, if you see on the App, that there is a more profitable robot, this is the robot you need to import to Metatrader.
Hope this helps!

Hey All,
So this is my first week of trading with these Prop Bots. I am using the MT5 versions on a $10k FTMO Demo. So far this week the bots are down nearly $450 whilst:
- EURJPY (1238246918) is down $500.
- EURGBP (1582513645) is up $50
- XAUUSD (1611800265) is up $36
- USDJPY (1635766325) is down $200
- BTCUSD (1838199896) is even
- GBPUSD (255882763) is up $58
My question is, is it normal for these bots to have days in which they consistently lose money? Is there anything else which I can do to mitegate the losses? Or am I the only one which has had a poor week this week?
I understand I need to be patient with the bots however through this first week, the performance hasn’t lived up to the expectation: that these bots either cover the loses of each other or make money as is shown in the App.
For clarification all currency bots are running at 1% risk whilst XAU & BTC are running at 0.5% risk due to ensure enough margin is available to trade.

November 22, 2024 at 13:38 #379737TKO88Participant
Since yesterday the only bot which is now profitable is the BTCUSD which is up $40, whilst the rest are down by 1 or 2 trades.

Hello, combining such diverse assets like crypto, forex, gold, or silver presents several unique challenges due to their differences in market behavior, risk dynamics, and operational requirements. Assets like crypto (e.g., BTCUSD) are highly volatile, with frequent large price swings, while forex pairs (e.g., USDJPY) are typically more stable. Gold and silver have their own volatility patterns, often responding to economic events like interest rate announcements. This variability in volatility can cause uneven performance across the portfolio, making risk management more complex. High volatility assets can skew results, potentially leading to increased drawdowns or unexpected losses. Another issue is that Forex operates within established market hours, and commodities like gold and silver have their most active periods during the London and New York sessions. In contrast, crypto trades 24/7, including weekends, with distinct liquidity patterns. These differences in trading hours can affect execution quality and cause unexpected volatility, especially when moving between market close and open periods.
From our experience with all the challenges where we participated, we never used such a diverse asset selection. We either stick to the forex pairs, or if we trade other assets as well we pick no more than 3 and use the same risk for each so we can identify which assets and EAs are performing well and which not.
That being said, when market is in downtrend, there is not much you can do but wait for a better time.
Hope this helps to evaluate the robots and your setup better.

You might have global variables (under Tools > Global Variables) that affected the protections or if you were disconnected from the Internet (if trading on a local PC, or for some reason your VPS was disconnected) this would also prevent the EAs from working.
Without looking into the account, I can only guess.

Hi Support,
could you please cross check the prop firm bots, backtesting incl. the graph and trading does not work for example for BTCUSD , USDJPY and possibly a few others…
As a comparison XAUUSD generates proper backtest values and a graph without any issues.
Could you plesae have a look? And check it on your side?
Thanks

This is the graph I see for most of the prop firm EAs, 2023 – today, blackbull account, spreads 10-15

Hi,
there seems to be a major issue with prop firm robots.
I am backtesting on MT5, 2023 till today, Blackbull broker with spreads around 10.
Account 100k, Max Loss 8K, Daily Loss 4K, PT 10K
#1 BTCUSD generates a DD of more than 10%
#2 USDJPY doesn’t do anything. Icannot even do a backtest.
#3 BTCUSD wipes out completely after 4 months with a generated loss of 116k
I am wondering how those should work and since we paid a lot of money for it I would kindly ask for a support and feedback.
Thanks

@dominikdorner, the EAs from the app open trades at the opening of the M15 bar so you should use the Open Prices Only for the backtest. Also when you run the backtest, check how much bars the broker offers for the asset you’re backtesting. Another thing to double-check is that the account size you’re backetsting on is the same there robots are created for – for example if you downloaded EAs for a $100k account, you should backtest them on such account.

Hi Martin,
I am using the prop firm robots app since more than 3 months.
My best aproach was to use the 3-5 best performing robots per Week (e.g. FX only).
This went really well for a couple of months and I also passed the first phases of prop firms.
Here’s the catch: Since 2 Weeks there are massive draw downs and almost no profits..
Is there anything broken with the app or just a bad month?
Best,
Sandor

No, nothing is changed in the generation process. The market is in huge downtrend lately and this might be the main reason why some assets don’t perform well at the moment.

Hi Jia,
the “hat” icon in the top right corner is not blue, which indicates that you probably need to enable algo trading first.
Go to Tools -> Options -> Expert Advisors -> “Allow Algorithmic Trading”
Furthermore when you add the EA to the chart, also set the flag “Allow Algo Trading” in the popup window.
Hope that helps!

Hi SandOr ,
I already follow and enable tick the “Allow Algorithmic Trading ” and the hat become blue . May I know this button “Algo trading” icon is correct for run the EA ?
Thanks you.

Hi Jia,
from your screenshot everything looks fine now!
The bots will open approx 1-2 trades per day, so please have a little patience… ;)

Thanks Sandor, indeed most of the EAs have a few trades per week. One can estimate that by looking at the count of trades on the 1W (weekly) charts and have a better understanding of what to expect.
Another way to debug any potential issues is by looking at the Experts and Journal tabs in the MetaTrader terminal where warning or error messages would point to any potential issues.

Good day so I started using these eas again and I am opening trades in my personal account but nothing is opening in my 10k challenge have the same bots on both accounts BTC had 2 out of 3 winning trades 1 USDJPY had a loss and the other one just opened and so far it is in profit. but I am wondering why my challenge isnt opening the same trades as my personal account?

@natedee you can’t expect equal trading in 2 different accounts, especially if one of them is demo and the other one is different (e.g. challenge). That’s because of the different quotes provided by every broker, and also they provide different quotes on demo and live accounts as well.
The next thing you should consider and double-check is if the prop firm offers the same leverage for the assets you’re trading on your demo account. For example with BTCUSD, The5ers offers 1:2 leverage for the asset, FTMO offers 1:3 on the standard account and 1:3 on the swing account, FundedNext offers 1:1 leverage and etc. If your demo account is with some regulated broker, for example BlackBull offers 1:100 leverage for BTCUSD at the moment. So the leverage can affect the trading – with low leverage the BTCUSD can’t open trades because there is not enough margin.

Some prop firms offer very low leverage for crypto, which makes trading these assets with robots impossible. For example with FundedNext, their leverage for crypto is 1:1 which makes it impossible for the crypto robots to open any positions as there isn’t any margin at all.

Hi @kenheung05gmail-com, this means that the protections have been activated. If you’re on a brand new account, then you’re using EAs which are not created for the account size you’re using them. If it’s an account that has been active for a while and the balance is not the starting balance, you can use the custom export option to adopt the robots to this account size. I have explained this in depth here, please take a look.
