    Hey guys,

Thee will be small differences between the videos and the new Version 5.0

I will do my best to rerecord some of the videos using the new version.

Also, you will receive the e-mail with the Set Files.

Something fundamental I missed to show in the previous videos is that when you test the Robots on trial you have to do it with different lots so the exposure will be equal. But all of that is in the set files. Just in case you wonder why the lots are different.

    Hey Dylan,

You will receive the e-mail with the new download link and password later today.

We are working on the final tests.

    Cheers,

    Hey mate,

Could you give it more time? The EAs will open trades when the price hits the confirmation from the indicators.

The EAs are not designed to trade frequently but to take vital signals.

SL is a protection. The EAs have exit conditions (indicators).

However, you can always optimize the EAs so they will have lower SL or to make it more active.

    Hey Joko,

    I appreciate your feedback!

True, but one should not use the scaling-up method if one can’t monitor the trades. I decided to use the scaling-up system only when I am around the monitor.

About the second one, it depends on your risk tolerance. It’s not luck. I’ve done plenty of tests with the EAs and the lot size to calculate that the chances of passing the challenge and not violating the rules are huge. If that ”risk” is too much for one one, it’s just a matter of lowering the lots.

If you check the trades in the reports, you will see that I traded the GBPCAD at the beginning of the week. At the end of the week, the AUDNZD was the profitable one.

So you need to track the 7 EAs and see which is the best one at any moment.

What comes to my mind is that you have low leverage, and there was not enough margin to open the trades?

Second, check if your broker has different suffixes for the symbols. Some might not be eligible for EAs.

    Let me know.

Yes, I use the default settings. I did not change anything.

    Hey Traders,

I’m happy to share with you that I passed 2 Prop Firm challenges with the FTMO Robot in the last 2 weeks!

In the first challenge, I used the Top Performer from the 7 FTMO Robots. Once I reached 2%, I increased the entry lots to 3. You can see the statistics for all trades in the account.

I used the Top 3 EAs in the second challenge without changing the lot size. Have a look at the statistics from the account.

The second account is with time limit so the target is 8%. Surprisingly the Prop Firm marked it as Passed at 7.99%! :)

I also recorded a video about it, and it will be published tomorrow – Friday the 26th of October.

    Cheers,

in reply to: Backtesting Expert Advisors: Historical Data #204289

    Hey traders,

We have some great news about EA Studio: Real Spread has been added while backtesting the EAs
    – EA Studio can now backtest strategies using an actual spread. With the latest Data Export scripts, you now have broker data with a real spread from your MT5.
    – The integrated “Premium Data” feed contains the real spread information. The symbols also have accurate Swaps and a preset commission of 3 USD per lot per side.
    – The integrated “MetaTrader-Demo” data feed takes data from a BlackBull Markets MT5 live account. It also contains the broker’s real spread, swaps and commissions.

    – You can see the spread at any given time by moving the cursor over the Indicator chart.

    – The preset fixed spread serves as a minimal spread. This means, that if the real spread is higher than the fixed one, the real spread is used. The fixed spread is used if the real spread is lower than the fixed one or if there is no spread information.

    – MT4 doesn’t export spread information. A fixed spread is used when exporting data from an MT4 terminal.

Also, remember that MT4 backtests the EAs with Fixed Spread while MT5 uses Real Spread during the backtest.

So the ultimate solution is to backtest EA Studio Strategies on MT5. If you have a Demo/Live account with BlackBull you can use MetaTrader-Demo data in EA Studio, and everything will work fluently. You don’t need to export data. It will be in EA Studio by default and updated!

Yes, Alan answered precisely about the Trailing Stop Loss.

Regarding the Magic Number, it is available on MT4 but not on MT5.

    2Hey traders,

I have uploaded the Expert Advisors for October.

You will find them attached as resource files. Just unzip them.

Always test on a Demo first, and I wish you a good month ahead!

    Hey mate,

Can you try backtesting for a longer period of time because some of the indicators in the EA (on M30) need a lot of bars.

I see you selected the 1st of August, just backtest it for longer and let me know.

Do you see errors in the journal?

in reply to: Prop Firm Robots: Settings and Inputs #200972

The problem is that most people depend 100% on the MetaTrader backtester, which is not perfect, actually, it is far from being perfect.

Like Alan said, the best is to test the EAs on Demo, which is a realistic forward testing.

Also, the EAs created with FSB Pro are advanced for the MetaTrader backtester, and the results are often not realistic. So a Demo test it the best thing to be done.

We avoid recommending trading lots. It is a personal choice with how much one will trade.

Start with 0.01 Lot on a Demo account and increase it until you feel comfortable with the risk.
