I wonder if this is true? This could explain why my EAs (5 charts) haven’t been trading over the last 2 weeks. I’m going to disable news on all of them and see if that makes a difference. I’ll let you know if I see an improvement over the next week.

(Has anyone found any consistency from testing to actual trading)

I’ve done testing and I’m currently running the FTMO Robot on 5 different charts.

I’m 3 days in and not a single trade has been placed.

    • “Allow Options” have been checked.
    • “Algo Trading” is turned on.
    • Entry lots is below 1.0.
    • I’ve tried increasing the spread (points) but it was already good.
    • News filter is working.
    • Active protections showing on each chart are good.
    • Allow Algo Trading is checked for each EA.
    • I don’t see any errors.
    • All the other values are good too.

I’ve done testing over an extended period of time and have an average of what to expect each week and month. I even rounded down to give a more realistic number. My concern is that with the 5 charts that are running I haven’t has one trade open yet.

    Something doesn’t feel right here.

If no trades open up this week I’m expecting approximately 30 trades to open over the next 3 weeks. I know that will not realistically happen. This is why I’m mentioning something now.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

I’m wonder is this EA is blocking trades on this account?

It appears this week has been a complete waste. I’m curious to hear from anyone who has experienced this and was able to resolve it.

Maybe there is something simple I’m overlooking?

I’m not sure if there is anything else to consider.

Thanks for sharing this video. I have seen this one before. I’ve decided to throw all my EAs on one MetaTrader and forward test them since the strategy tester wasn’t working very well. I have everything connected to myfxbook and FX Blue so I guess this will be the best way to test them.

I’ve tried adjust some of the settings before but it didn’t make a difference. I’ll try testing a slightly different deviation %. Thanks for the suggestion.

I also wanted to mention that since your new update the strategy tester is now working with MT5.

Hello Petko, thank you for the update. You also mentioned adjusting some of the metrics to help make your trades unique with the FTMO Robot from other traders. I’ve already done that.

Please consider adding a delay option for execution too because FTMO has a maximum amount of trades on their platform that can open simultaneously. Example: Delay (None) – (adjustable 1 to 8-second delay)

I’m not sure if this can be done but it could help prevent some issues that may come from excessive execution times. You’ll see that they have a maximum of 200 execution orders at the same time.

Thanks again for all the work you put into everything you do. I honestly don’t know how you find the time.

Has anyone noticed poor modeling quality when using the strategy tester? I’m already using the historical data from this website.

Is there anything I can do to improve it or should I not worry at all?

tstpierre, I’m noticing the same problem. I can use the strategy tester on MT4 but it doesn’t work on MT5. I get a similar message. The test will run but I will get 0 executions. I even tried speaking with a broker but they were unable to figure out why the EA wasn’t working.

I’ve tried several MT5 brokers but none of them work. It would be nice to have this option because some companies only use MT5 and the MT5 strategy tester is faster.

I hope he can figure this out.

Has anyone else had any problem with making their backtesting work?

When I test other EAs the backtesting seems to work but I’m having a problem getting it to work with the FTMO Robot.

I checked historical data, and if the proper chart was selected, the correct date was chosen, did I have the correct inputs, and if I used crude control points for the test.

There were no errors in the journal and the backtest showed 0 trades were taken.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I would like to think it’s something simple but I can’t seem to figure it out.

I think before anyone considers using it for Darwinex Petko Alexandrov needs to add an option for a delay before opening the trade. This will help make each trader slightly unique with their own trades.

I’m sure I read somewhere with Darwinex that there is a percentage requirement for the trades of each individual trader. I also know the majority of prop firms out there have a threshold of how many positions can be opened at the exact same time on their server.

I’ve posted a few messages in this forum asking Petko to consider adding this.

I hope he might add this to it on his next EA update.

Hello Petko, can you consider adding a delay to this EA so it can help with being slightly different from other traders?

I’m running this on a few different accounts with different settings but they all opened their positions at the same time.

An option to delay the open order from 1 to 10 seconds in the inputs would be helpful in reducing the risk of being flagged by a prop firm for opening a position at the same time as too many other people and will also help make our trades unique.

Yes, I have it on 3 different accounts, and they all placed a trade today.

I’m currently testing this with 2 different 2-week FTMO challenge accounts and a HankoTrade one. One FTMO is using the recommended settings and I have adjusted the other one.

I’ve noticed that both trades today were executed at the exact same time.

Can you add a customizable option to this EA that will delay the execution time if we choose to? Example: 1-sec delay, 2 sec, 3 sec, 7 sec…and so on. This could help reduce the number of trades being triggered at the exact same with the same broker and reduce the chances of running into problems in the future as this becomes more popular.

I initially thought the “Bar Closing Advance [sec]’ did that but it had no effect.
