    Hi Guys,

I was just trying to upload my generated strategies into the collection. However, it is only accepting Json files. I tried uploading the MQL4 and EX4 file, but it wasn’t uploading.

Is there anyway I can convert them into Json files?

Please advise, thank you very much.

    Hi Petko,

Apologies for the delay in reply. I was travelling and just returned. I will use the default charts in the EA studio for generating strategies for JFD.

Thank you very much and have a great day ahead.

    Hi Petko,

In your course, you show the part where you add the MT4 Data Export script into the JFD MT4 Platform. You also change the chart settings to 99999999. Also after pressing the home button and loading all the previous data, you end up with 200k bars for the lower timeframes.

I did the same thing in my JFD MT4 platform, however it was able to collect only around 67k bars for the lower timeframes. Is there something wrong in what I did? Or will you be able to share the JFD json files that you generated?

I know we can download from the Historical Data App, however since they are from DukasCopy, just wanted to make sure I have the exact bars from my broker.

Please let me know if you can help out on this. Thank you very much.

    Hi Christian and Bart,

Hope you’re doing well. You can create an MT4 for IBKR using a bridge. Please read this link below from the IB website.

    https://ibkr.info/node/1982

Hope this helps. Thanks and have a great week ahead.

    Hi Petko,

Thanks for your reply. I see many people in this forum talking positively about JFD and you use it all the time in your courses. So I think I’m going to go ahead with JFD too. Just went through the in-depth review by your team, pretty good except for the low leverage. I guess that’s what makes them reliable and shows that they’re not trading against us like these other brokers who provide 1:500 leverage.

I know I’m asking a lot of questions Petko, hope you don’t mind. Just need one advice on the EA Studio.

In your Historical Data App video, you are downloading the Dukascopy Data and changing the Symbol Settings according to JFD. However, in the spreads section you are keeping it to 10 pips as it is. Whereas JFD,IC markets or IB have mostly on average 1-2 pips of spread. Ofcourse I understand during times of special news, the spreads go wider than 10 pips.

Do you do that as a safety measure? Or do you think if I reduce the spreads in the Symbol Settings to around 1-2 pips I will get better executable trades?

    Kindly advise.

Thanks a lot for your continuous support.

    Hi Petko,

Yes, you’re absolutely right. I just opened 2 browsers and ran an M1 and a D1 reactor for 24 hours. At the end of the day, the M1 reactor had calculated around 500,000 strategies and the D1 had calculated more than 11 million.

So yes, now it makes sense. Thanks for clearing it up Petko.

    Hi Petko,

Yes Interactive Brokers is really good. I have been with them for many years. Never had any problem with them. They do have MT4 for EA trading as well, however I wanted to keep my manual and EA trading diversified with 2 different brokers.

With regards to Interactive Brokers, recently during the volatile period for OIL, it went to negative prices. However, the Interactive Brokers platform was not designed to manage negative prices. I read that many brokers have this same problem. So I faced a huge loss not because of my fault but because of their system and immediately the next day I was paid back all my losses.

Later I read on Bloomberg that many traders have experienced the same thing with Interactive Brokers during that period and all of them were compensated entirely for their losses. In total, the losses faced by traders in Interactive Brokers on that particular day was $113 Million and Interactive Brokers compensated the entire amount. This just shows how reliable they are. Here’s the news article for that:

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-05-08/oil-crash-busted-a-broker-s-computers-and-inflicted-huge-losses

I also read in some other forums, where the traders who faced the similar scenario with their brokers were not compensated.

I was thinking of working with IC Markets (ECN Account) for the EA Trading. I read that they do not charge additional margins for hedged trades. So I have a buy and a sell for EURUSD, I will only be charged margin for one of the trades, not both.

Do you have any advice or suggestions regarding IC Markets Petko? Please let me know. Thank you.

    Hi Richard and Mery,

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Actually, I had a look at Pepperstone and Global Prime. It mentions both as market makers. I’ve been using Interactive Brokers for many years now for my manual trading.

Just looking for another broker to fully concentrate on the EAs.

Yes Mery, I’ve watched this video and have amended the symbol settings accordingly. Still IC markets was having some issue. I will anyway look into the brokers recommended by Petko.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Mery,

I have a separate VPS setup for trading only. This one I use it solely for EA Studio only. So yes as you mentioned, it is a powerful VPS and I’m only running 01 EA Studio session at the moment and nothing else. The speed is still very low. For a 10 hour session, its generating only around 250k-300k strategies and yes I’m using Chrome as well.

Initially it was generating around 5 million strategies every 10 hours, thats why I’m a bit confused on what happened now.

I’ve checked the RAM as well, this is the only program thats running. Feeling that its the EA Studio server that is slow.

Generally how many strategies does your EA Studio generate in a 10 hours timeframe?

    Hi Petko,

As shown in your courses, I tried to open 2-4 windows of EA Studio to calculate many strategies at once. However, the speed significantly reduces, which you have told as well.

Is this speed something relating to my computer, internet connection speed or is it related to the server of EA Studio?

I have a VPS connection with Contabo with 60GB Ram, 1Tb SSD and 1000mb/s Bandwith. Yesterday I ran just one strategy window for 600 mins and it was able to calculate more than 5 Million strategies within this time period compared to 4 windows which was able to calculate only around 250,000 strategies within a 600 min timeframe.

However, I did another one strategy window today and it was only able to calculate around 350,000 strategies within the 600 min timeframe.

I am starting to think that the speed is not related to my Computer or Internet Connection, it maybe the EA Studio server.

Please correct me if I am wrong and do you have any other suggestion to increase the speed of the calculations, as I feel the specifications of my VPS mentioned above is pretty good.

Any of the group members who can contribute to this? Please do.

    Thank you very much.
