    Good afternoon Jac,

Hope you’re having a good weekend so far. I’m trying to play around with the softwares on my days off to get ready for the new week. Any pointers for the commodities and indices strategies? I find very loooow win rate strategies or having to use 150+ pip stop losses to just barely get to the 30% win rate. I’m too scared of price reversals to trade without stops. Thanks!

    Andi,

Hope you’re having a great weekend. What you say is a very good point. But isn’t “intrabar scanning” supposed to help with that? To use all available lower time frame data to help with the entry accuracy?

    Petko,

You make a great point here. Still trying to get used to how FSB behaves in generator and optimizer. Trying to stick to steps of 10 where possible, but my strategies are looking ugly so far.

I’m having trouble getting past 4 assets lol. Not as easy as I thought it would be. Can only run 5 Reactors at a time or 3 FSB Generators till my CPU hits max load.

@Bob – you beast lol. I’m trying to get up to that 30 EA range on the live account. But not as easy as I thought it would be. Finally putting EA’s on the live that I created almost two months ago, then removing some that aren’t cooperating. I’ll admit, have been very inconsistent with my generator the last month or so.

@Jacpin- Yes its amazing. I’ve read it about 3 times now. I visit it every time i get discouraged, as he shares his personal journey going from part time trader to full time. Including the Walk Forward Optimization which he pioneered back when he traded in the world championships.

    Hey Petko,

    Thank you sir!

@Bob- I have yet to trade any of the Crypto’s. I’m terrified of the spreads and lack of real correlations I can measure. At least with Forex i can look at the economic calendars (when i decide to, which hasn’t happened in months) and know economic conditions are changing like FOMC tomorrow.

    Hola Petko,

    Will try that.

@Haliffa – Agreed, Petko is a huge asset!

I personally like the 20% OOS, it simulates the most recent market conditions (I mainly trade H1) so for me 20% is about a year and a half worth of data. Then i verify the OOS with the most current 6 months of data that I’ve kept with Data Horizon. It’s all about personal preference 🙂

Currently trading with 8 EA’s live. Account is moving very consistent. Of course i woke up with a few L’s this morning but have a few trades moving into profit. I trade with 1:200 leverage, not that i need it but to Andi’s point i want to have way more EA’s on the account than what i have currently.

    Good morning Everybody,

I believe they added Walk Forward Optimization (Finally) as an option instead of the traditional Optimizer. Currently playing around with that. As it’s better to have Walk Forward Optimization in order to use the most current market conditions vs the history as a whole. Kevin Davey wrote an amazing algo trading book (Building Winning Algorithmic Trading Systems) going over the differences in Anchored optimization (EA Studios old optimizer with OOS) and Un-Anchored where the time period and OOS slide with the changing market conditions and current data. He doesn’t cover data mining (what we do here) but I’ve learned how to adapt his book to EA Studio, working on FSB along with Petko’s trainings.

    Good morning Desita,

I’m big at looking around to make sure that overall the broker has positive reviews on websites i’m familiar with here in the states. I always check around before opening live accounts. Not only for the money i could lose to scam brokers, but also our personal information that could lead to identity theft. I’m super cautious, and have only ever opened accounts with 4 brokers in total. Two US and Two none for the leverage and assets.

    Hi Petko,

Yes sir, I have yet to withdraw. I’ve seen a few other traders here in the states using this broker and withdrawing with no issues. So i’m pretty confident. Once I’ve doubled the account and can really increase my size I’ll start making withdrawals.

Jacpin thanks for the update, are you using 30% OOS? I’ve been mainly using 20%.

    Hola Andi,

Yes sir, they accept US customers. They’ll have to set up an account with UPayCard in order to fund the account. FXChoice doesn’t accept their US customers to Wire Transfer or use Debit/Credit cards to deposit $$.
