I don’t recommend Forex Gold Investor for Prop Firms only for owned broker accounts and maybe instant funding (Max Drawdown rule of 10%). It has huge drawdowns and consecutive losing trades on clear downtrends.

You can see max drawdowns of up to -20% on EA Trading Academy Accounts. Mine are usually 5% due to Drawdown protections and a lower risk of 0.5%.

There’s daily drawdown protection but no daily equity drawdown protection. If the prop firm uses trailing equity drawdown you will easily breach that rule.

If you are lucky or start EA at the “bottom” of the gold market you will pass. But the EA is not very consistent, it will quickly lose all the gains.

I already lost one prop firm account. Second is close to being breached too.

If you are serious, learn how to create your own EAs where you understand how the strategy works and can offset or protect against risks. Forex Gold Investor is a Commercial Blackbox EA, we have no clue how the strategy works.

This EA is not fit for 24/7 automated trading. You need to disable it and enable it in favorable markets the problem again is that we don’t know exactly how the strategy works.

One day you might pass the challenges and then lose the funded accounts on another. Completely unpredictable.

System 2

Drawdown Protections

• Avoid reaching the limits
• Drawdown Value – 0.5

For example for a Daily Drawdown of 5 and a Max Account Drawdown of 10%:

• Maximum Daily Drawdown %=4.5
• Maximum Equity Drawdown %=9.5

Randomization Settings

• RandomizeEntry=True
• RandomizeExit=True

Magic Number

• Magic1=Change for a different one
• Magic2=Change for a different one

For live accounts you can give the default settings a try. Test with live account and optimize as you go. You don’t have as many restrictions.
