Backtesting data slowing down computer

I’m struggling to proplery back test as every time I start downloading historical data on metatrader 4 and begin backtest the computer memory gets overloaded. Ive got 2 VPS and upgraded one of them to allow for more memory but i’m still getting the same problem. AS i’m a mac user am i just going to have to bight the bullet and Buy a windows dekstop. If so what specs do you recomend?

Hi Oliver,

Are you downloading the premium data and importing it into MT4 so you can backtest an Expert Advisor using MT4 Strategy Tester? Is this what you are trying to do? How much memory does your computer have?
