      AI and MT4 Indicators

With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), I’ve frequently heard that one of its major advantages is increased productivity. Wanting to see that in action, I decided to put it to the test by asking AI a straightforward question: “What are the different categories of forex indicators, and what are they used for?” Sure, I could have spent hours digging through online forums and articles to find the answer—but instead, I let AI (ChatGPT) handle the legwork. Within seconds, it generated the following list. It genuinely saved me a lot of time. And yes—even this paragraph was polished by ChatGPT to sound more professional. Gotta love it!

Forex indicators are generally classified into four main categories, each serving a unique purpose in analyzing price behavior and assisting traders in making informed decisions:

      Trend Indicators
These help identify the direction and strength of a market trend. They’re especially useful in trend-following strategies.
Examples: Moving Averages (MA), Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), Average Directional Index (ADX), Parabolic SAR.

      Momentum Indicators
These show the speed or strength of price movement and are often used to spot overbought or oversold conditions.
Examples: Relative Strength Index (RSI), Stochastic Oscillator, Commodity Channel Index (CCI), Momentum Indicator.

      Volatility Indicators
These measure the rate of price change regardless of direction. They’re helpful in determining potential breakouts or setting stop-loss levels.
Examples: Bollinger Bands, Average True Range (ATR), Donchian Channels.

      Volume Indicators
These are more commonly used in stock trading but can be useful in forex (especially with brokers that offer tick volume data). They help confirm trends or predict reversals.
Examples: On-Balance Volume (OBV), Chaikin Money Flow (CMF), Volume Oscillator.

Next, I am going to use this information to create expert advisors using EA Studio.  I will share this in the EA Studio forum.  Once I have added content in the EA Studio forum I will add a link here.

      Alan,
